I would bet the owner having been stuck in the middle of nowhere without coolant used water & plenty of red river clay hoping to get himself back to civilisation. water seeped out but the clay solidified from sitting over time

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Harold Kidwell says:

Grease from when the seal let loose a the crap around the bearing went straight into the cooling system

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Zane Herrington says:

Prestone radiator stop leak contains Bentonite Clay. Lists it on the bottle lol maybe he had been trying to stop the water pump leak with several bottles

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Abby Printz says:

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Charles Harper says:

I'm impressed you did this without a single swear word.

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Moore says:

I have a 2008 that did that! Old mechanic said it was the coolant from factory mixing with air(leak) in system!

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars George Valdillez says:

Great job. Really like your attention to detail. One concern though… I wonder what the thermostat looks like. Just a thought.

I can see their review right now" this mechanic sucks! He charged me for all this labor tried to get me to buy a new water pump too n probably cause I refused he did something that made my old one stop working driving home"

For cooling systems as cruddy as this, try Irontite's Thoroflush.

Hi, Mr. O. Your 2015 self doesn't know me, but your 2022 self does, so that's something. The main thing is your daughter is/was still as cute as ever. It is still a mystery to me how that clay got into the water. Maybe the guy fills it with water from a creek on his farm. Good job! I'm sorry you cut your finger. Oh yeah, if you do have a way to do anything back in 2015, Buy Apple stock. Just sayin'. Thanks for sharing! Stay Healthy!

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Clarence Swope says:

People should realize if they don't know what the world they are doing they should not open the hood all they do is cost their self more money if there is something I don't know how to do I don't do it I send it to a shop because I know enough that I would end up messing things up and cost me more money no thank you

I just want to say "Gracias Amigo", Thank you my friend. Your video helped me replace the water pump on my mother's 06 Grand Prix with ease. It was not as bad once I got in to it. Coolant and Radiator in her car were not as bad as this car. Did have a little bit but not crazy like the one used on this video.

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ralph Vaccaro says:

I know this is old, but when you said β€œthis is some of the stupidest engineering”. There is an engineer saying β€œhold my beer”

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars David Cloninger says:

JUST A LITTLE BIT OF PLAY IN IT. LOL

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Gene Yus says:

Why does he try to talk an act like a drunk rambo??

  31. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars David Kendrick says:

You contradicted yourself. In earlier vids you always spray the gasket side away from the block so they are easier to clean, off the block. My world is now upside down.

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars john carville says:

If you want to know why you don't mix the different coolant variants…….

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Michael Pagel says:

    why wasnt it over heating?

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Alan Hall says:

Another better late than never comment: I thought for sure after you did the super flush, you were going to find the radiator was going to be leaking like a dike. I've never seen anything like that before. Since this video, have you come across this kind of crud again? Take care, ASH

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars David Blair says:

Wow, what a crap job Eric !!!

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mobile Mechanic says:

7 years later and i still watch this video… from this day all of us still wonder about this… so many questions about this job, how in the world i'll be surprised if this car is still driving out there new water pump, thermostat every 3 or 4 months with flushing…. OMG i wouldn't know where to begin, even tho its 7yr old video, i wouldn't know where to start first off i would of shown the customer here's your problem.. watch there reaction if they arent surprised then they knew about it but if they panic then they may have knew about it but acted with a little concern

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Nate Burch says:

It would be very helpful if you listed the size sockets you were using

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars pjimmbo jimmbo says:

The God Damn engineers do not design those car with maintenance/repairs in mind. To change the Headlight Bulbs on my STS, the front of the car has to come off. They need their Heads slammed against a door frame a few times

  39. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Missy Chevious says:

I can honestly say that in 30+ years as a licensed mechanic, I have never ever seen anything like that. I've seen some pretty strange things in my time but never a cooling systgem that crudded up. Good thing it was you. I would have thanked them very much for stopping by, made an appointment with the next repair shop up the road and sent them on their way. I wouldn't have taken a chance on something like that. That is absolutely ridiculous. I had to watch right to the end. I had to know if the thermostat was working. Totally amazed that it must have been. Just one suggestion. Next time….put on your rain gear first. Awesome vid. Take care and be safe.

  40. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Chad Martin says:

I saved a 360 by doing that. Kept flushing it with water and vinegar. Luckily it was summertime

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Chad Martin says:

You might be able to get a cheap radiator and heater core. Run it and flush it. As long has the owner does it himself. He might be able to save that car for a few more years

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Sauce Gucci says:

When the pump came off that was satisfyingπŸ˜³πŸ€“πŸ˜ŒπŸ€€(asmr)

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Antonio Claudio Michael says:

No noise my butt shh should of overheated with what was in that radiator and block maybe the owner is just one of them oblivious people πŸ€” 😳 πŸ˜… Eric O @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Antonio Claudio Michael says:

Wow how did this vehicle even run and drive without overheating every 5 seconds Eric O 😳 @SouthMainAutiRepairLLC
