I have the Toyota version- it has electric power steering. Has 180k miles and still going strong. The only weakness is the VVT Cam gear which is somehow controlled by oil pressure sometimes chatters upon start up as it pressurizes.

The Pontiac Vibe, is the Toyota Voltz in Japan. The Voltz S (Vibe GT) comes with optional automatic transmission, whereas the USA Vibe, only is sold as a 6 Speed manual.
these are from years 2003-2008 For Base models, and 2003-2006 GT models.
The 2zz-ge "GT" engine, is also used in the Lotus Elise.

This 1zz engine is also gonna probably need a new (upgraded) intake manifold gasket. A rough idle in cold weather and elevated ltft is the tipoff.
It looks like they hot wired the fan to the compressor. There must be something wrong with the A/C fan circuit because the A/C fan was new too. They probably replaced that first thinking that was the issue
I'm guilty of being one of those who stares from the waiting room widow and or door. It only happens when I'm in a position that I cannot perform the repair myself. It drives me crazy paying someone else to repair something that I can do myself.
Ac tually, I have a complaint… You did not paint the valve cover bright red to match the interior.

Hi Ray, I love to watch you work. Have done that myself for more than thirty years till my back gave up on me. Now I'm retired. A question, don't you use lube on sparkplug threads when you put them in aluminium cyl. heads? We were told never to put steel threads in aluminium without lube. This to avoid stripping the threads. Have a nice weekend, man!

Great video. On the 1ZZFE, the #2,3,4 coils will come out a lot easier if you loosen the 2 nuts on that harness tube before removal, and leave it loose till the coils are back in like you did.

You want to be cost effective, and you're not made of money. So you opt to NOT spend $20 for new spark plugs, only to need new $400 coils later because the worn out plugs put stress on the coils. Good idea there.
The dismall experience that I briefly had at Firestone as Service Mangler, they would try to make me instill so much fear into this customer that he would be rushing to his bank to take out a 2nd mortgage on his house due to the fear of driving his family around in a "ticking time bomb"I would tell them to piss up a rope. Thus the short career there. It was inhumane and unconscionable the unnecessary maintenance and repairs they would demand that they wanted me to force on trusting customers. They need to be investigated in a huge way. Bye, this was job my experience. Be warned.
