These vehicle are great for the Manufacturer and original owner, but the poor buyer that can only afford to buy them 10 years down the track are taken to the cleaners.

I really like Kia/Hyundai vehicles. They are kinda built cheaply, but not the "designed to fail, impossible to repair" kind of cheap.
They give reasonable spec ranges, like 5-30 oil being recommended in warmer climates, instead of saying "yeah, 0w-20 will do fine in 105° Arizona". They do the now ubiquitous "lifetime ATF" shenanigans, but if you read the manual it'll say to change the fluid after 75,000 miles if you do anything but drive an empty vehicle on the highway. Kia used to even have technical/service info freely available on their website. They did away with that website, sadly.
They seem like good vehicles for DIYers or even just regular folks that pay attention. I hope they stay that way and don't follow the rest of the industry.
We Don't Envy you East Coasters with all that Rust and corrosion..

I used a pair of pliers to hammer a hammer yesterday
I had a similar problem with the 2004 Dodge Durango and the parking brake broke and made a terrible grinding noise. I didn't want to spend the money to fix everything so I did a parking break delete. The regular brakes worked just fine. I realize you can't do that in a shop especially with an inspection but I told the guy I sold the vehicle to, there is no parking brake.
id like to thank you for all the videos you post ..im a disabled mechanic that works at home …i learn alot from your videos….maybe someday i can return the favor…its a hobby i enjoy very much i dont know what else i can do…id just be sitting around the house rotting ,,,lol

Found another video that is going to help me out. I thought I watched the right video about the Santa Fe rear bearings, but nope. Must have been a different year with the ABS ring inside the bearing. I got all prepared to get the bearing out, and the ABS ring was in the way. I was trying to figure out how to get the CV axle out so I could get to the bolt heads. Came back to utoob and your video was suggested on the side. Just what I needed to see. Thanks!
Also, thanks for the tip on gravity bleeding. I'm doing the rear calipers on my daughter's Rogue, so she'll be able to spend less time helping me if I gravity bleed them first. LOL
I think you should have put your cable onto the actuator before you put the bearing and hub. Would have been a lot easier.

I’m a 66 female who has changed out motors, put in clutches, put head gaskets and timing belt on Subaru motors, stripped out cars Etc….my dad was a mechanic when I was littile, guess I picked up his mechanical ability😎🌹
I went through half my life not knowing how to use a "ball-peen" hammer. When using an expanding fastener, you put the ball on the fastener, then hit the face of the "ball-peen" hammer with a second hammer. I don't doubt there are many occasions when this little bit of knowledge would be useful.
Losing a car to get Mrs "O" sounds like a win to me…I'll bet she will last a lot longer.

I would lather every nut bolt and mating surface with anti seize compound. Thanks for the help. Tried to remove the rear rotors on a 2016 Tucson but the park brake mechanism is all seized up on the passenger side. Spent hours at it to no avail. Can't get the shoes to adjust in on the right rear and the rotor won't come off. So I have turned to you. Pad material fell out on the ground when I took off the rotor on the drivers side.

Hey Eric, a small tip for you. I always use some lock wire to pull the cable clamp fully back and time it below the parking cable mount. Install the cable end then remove the lock wire. Occasionally a piece of lock wire gets stuck under the arm, its a small piece and it will fall out on its own.
What year santa fe is this? I have an 04 with dust shields that have completely rusted away and I'm blowing through rotors because of it. If this is an 01-06 you may have saved me quite the mechanic bill. Thank you!!
