I've had the some-wheel-drive version of the off roader. Autolocking hubs are just another more complex part to break. Sometimes the best solutions are the most simple. The idea of getting out to lock your tires might seem like an extra step but so is trying to fix something that's not working. I love locking hubs, crank windows, air blend levers hand adjusting mirrors. Simple stuff just seems to work and if I never have to chase a bad switch, wire, or control module it would be too soon.

I call electrical issue lol factory e locker I believe once it’s engaged it’s supposed to be sending constant power to keep it locked.

I have had limited slip, detroit lockers, and posi-traction but now I have an electronic locker on my F350. If you engage the electronic locker you need to be in some loose stuff. If you forget to disengage and pull onto a road it will let you know by trying to push the truck in a strait line.

My guess would be wore out friction oil or worn clutches.

    hate shorts stop doing them

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Simon Ilett says:

Unless it's an air locker, hydraulic locker, or electric locker, it probably won't lock with no load on the tires. Mechanical clutch type lsd's and truetrac etc only lock when there is load applied to the wheels, and that load is then transferred back through to the input pinion.

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Henry Hickman says:

    Fj cruiser.
