I wanted to be a mechanic but i socket using tools doleedoo
Hey ray got a question or for anyone that can answer , okay since you removed the front diff and drive shaft since some of those are balanced does that mean you have to put it back how it was???
you are ausome
Thank you for letting people like myself understand why I don't ever want to work on a vehicle. Thank you for doing what you do.
Do da do dooo!!!
Oil pick up tube not dip stick tube. great video
Ray stop uploading in hdr, i cant disable it on my end and im trying to watch these in the dark and minimum brightness is still blinding
The gasket is black so is it good ? LOL
Thats not a leak. Thats the hummers immune system kicking in to fight the rust cancer. LoL
Oh, and I do wish that you would wear safety glasses more often especially when working underneath and looking up.
Those bolts can throw off little pieces of metal as they screw and unscrew so BE CAREFUL BUDDY!!!!!
IF it ever comes that you have to wear an eye patch, then it will be mandatory that you have one of your legs removed and a peg installed.
Then, you'll have to go round saying, "ARGH" all the time instead of "Click".
And, adopt a parrot to hold the camera on your shoulder.
"Tweet, Gravity! Gravity! Tweet, whistle"!
There are times when I've seen you do a complete overhaul on lower and upper control arms replacing the entire unit part when all that is needed is new bushings and ball joints.
It has to be cheaper to just replace the damaged parts and especially with the newer polyurethane ones.
I know that there is a universal kit to remove the old bushings and to press in the new ones.
Just wondered why you do that as it seems it would save the customer money.
Or maybe it's the labor involved????
Just wondering.
Pry bars are our friends 😁
Literally lowered the entire diff for a damn oil pan…..GENIUS ENGINEERING HUMMER!
Did you finalize the pan gasket by torqueing the bolts with a torque wrench to maintain an even pressure around the pan?
I love those nail bolts.
If you used "larger Wood" it my night fall out at the crucial Time
winkI'm not seeing merch of the famous phone ring… 🤔
I mean, it's what I come to see…
I just realized how much of a pain it is todo just an oil change on a hummer. I guess they need that massive skid plate for the mall parking lot after leaving the soccer park.
That handke tho
OK……. I believe I,m officially addicted to Ray's videos. I'm even singing the "dooo deee doo" when i hear a phone ring.
That's a lot of messing around to fix a oil leak, ugh! Good job.
Does your shop have a hot water parts washer?
Ray I really enjoy watching you work, but I really really enjoy being retired from this line of work.😇
That big metal plate is actually a rock guard for when u go offroad with the truck not a heat shield
That was a relatively easy job.
I can see Ray at company meetings. Ray says in a serious tone, “ we’re gonna need more cans of brake clean” The boss, “how many Ray?” Ray, “all of the brake clean”.
Where has Pee'tah been?
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite channels. It's just a guy working at his job, but damn is he entertaining about it. I respect the "not doing it unless it's done right" mentality.
Let it leak!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Much easier than doing all that
Dipstick? All this time I thought that was a pickup tube… I learned something new today! (/sarcasm)
This is going to be good
TY,,,,,,WOW incredible very interesting super kool ,1st class great info.,, AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work.
I wonder if all that shielding is there for the IED's? 🤣
Love the videos and music during pan cleaning I watch everyday after work
Man your channel is really blowing up
I sometimes check the comments to see if the customer leaves one and so far I haven't.. I wonder if any of them even know their vehicles are on YouTube.. I would love to watch a good mechanic work on my car!
Ballpark, what does this cost?
Those dumber I mean hummers are strong units as long as they run but they are a pain in the neck to disassemble and repair
You almost smashed your finngy there ray and probably would have said a wordy Durd
I was waiting for the brake clean to come out for the oil pan!
Is this looking more bad then it is or is this car rusty ass hell.
Underneat
Considering driving down to Florida from Ohio for you to put a clutch in my mustang, what are your thoughts good sir?
i own alll dewalt impact and drill i see you use ridgid how do you like it so far?
I wonder why this started leaking in the first place…?
Picked up a lot of helpful tips from your videos, thank you. I also love your double entendres whether intentional or incidental.
Click!
Seriously with all those rust bits flying off this car you should use some safety glasses … just to protect your eyes from foreign objects.
Man that's a lot of work for an oil pan gasket. Sheesh!
Good lord that thing is hideous
That brake cleaner he's using also makes great wasp killer, aim at the nest and POW, kills instantly!! Alot of the wasp and hornet killer they make nowdays only pisses them off.
Excellent video and repair.
I'm Surprise Auto Zone hasn't sponsored a video yet since you use Tons of Brake cleaner. Also Over 400k Subscribers Congrats I have been watching since before you had 100k.
Hay…you missed a bolt.
Hey – you missed a bolt … jk 😁
Too much radio noise.
The axle slips into a pocket on the transfer case.
Hey Ray – Check the relay that feeds the electrical circuit for your intermittent problem. the schematic says that circuit is energized through a relay. They can be troublesome and stick leading to intermittent connections.
so ray you used a strap on to get wood then you got her to come!! and not 1 giiggity??
I wonder how much brake cleaner they go through a day?
All that self lubrication kinda helps with all that Florida rust.
Divot works, recess might also work.
However, dipstick instead of oil pickup. WTF.
idk if ray will ever see this question or not but i am wondering how does he know when to stop when pulling in to a stall?….and how does he know where the best place to put the car lift arms on the vehicle?
Ugh makes me dread going to work tomorrow got one of these money pit H2’s waiting for me. It’s a frequent flyer from the past 2 years not sure exactly what is left on the thing that hasn’t been replaced, rebuilt, or repaired. Possibly the speedometer needle is still original.
I've come to pump you up get a work out arm strong
DooDaahDoo!!
if they make them less complex.. no more lost bolts… lol
that poor engine has been abused… look at all the dark burnt oil.. also pan isnt fully clean.. it's still covered in burnt oil as well
Divot? Dish? Recess…..
"Come with me, if you want to be repaired" LOL
not only a great technician but also a great gentleman behind the wheel
This is why they don't make these anymore.
I'd call it a boss (male) and bore (female) but I'm not a biologist …..
To change the parking light bulb in my Infiniti G35 one must remove the Grill, Front Bumper Shield, unbolt the fender and remove the headlamp module to access the little bulb.
This I thought was a load of work for a simple task.
Ray said "Hold my Snap On" and proceeded to dismantle an H2 to fix an oil leak.
Well done sir.
That is one ugly colour.🤮 Looks like a giant pumpkin on wheels. Does Cinderella own it? Better be finished by midnight! 🤣
Rainman not sure why I'm always answering the shop phone, I have no remote controll over the phone.
Those look so cool on the outside
I cringe every time I see you use a power tool to remove nuts and bolts, I spray a little PB and always make sure the threads are clean and have a dab of lube (not much) when installing
Awesome!
GM's and weird electrical problems go hand and hand! Ask me how I know! My son had a 2013 Chevy Malibu. Decent car but it had aggravating annoying electrical Gremlins as well as crappy plastic gears that operate the HVAC doors.
Great mechanic, job and film, but what surprised me that no torque specs. Probably at that level of experience you know torques by eye. I also couldn't expect the oil pan will be protected by so many shields and it is so hard to get to it. Thank you for the film.
You made getting the CV axels back in look easy. I changed one of the output shaft seals on the front dif. on my 1500HD and caught hell getting the CV axel back in. Of course it’s probably easier when you aren’t laying on the ground.
I would have referenced marked the axles with a grease pencil or some paint just to be on the safe side to avoid any vibrations.
hate to say it but when a crankshaft seal starts leaking, front or rear, your best bet is to replace the seals ,and blow by can be a problem, the crank cases on modern engines have vacuum, to reduce blow by
"i got her to come"… you wish Ray
another super ugly interior… holy shit
Funny, I have always found, while taking something out of stamped steel, and what ever I am taking out.
Before dropping said item
Take a pry bar and spread it open 1 to 2 mm
Saves a lot of time upon installing
Think about it
Good thing we understand rainisms ,dipstick , pickup ,both tubes lol
Why did GM change it to where part of the oil pan is under a cross member/engine support on the FWD's?? On some of the older ones I've seen the oil pan was accessible without having to remove a support bracket (if I remember right). The gasket on mine needs replaced on my 07 Monte LT, but about half of it is blocked by an engine support bracket.
Good video again, thanks.
Just one question, do you check to make sure there is negative crankcase pressure when engine is running? I heard that positive pressure can lead to oil leaks.
I don't know why people stop the oil leaks. With the horrendous rust we see on those Florida cars the oil would be a good rust preventive.
where is this shop, love to give it business!
Pickup tube, not dipstick tube, ya dipstick! 😛 You forgot the 'ah ah ah' after 1 bolt started, 2 bolts started 😛
New lift.
Is that really a good idea to put that thick heavy Lucas oil treatment in modern engines…………
_'
_It is wery catching those clikitch and that displeases me and so on. pure enjouyment :Thanks Ray . More this please
Proper Order or Prybar..
Ray, thanks for making retirement from medicine so much more enjoyable! Your Milwaukee M12 snubby impact is a 1/2” drive?
All the dirty jokes I think of when Ray says things like, lube running down my leg. LOL
when you say dipstick tube i think of the dipstick not the pickup tube.
