Old video but I have to disagree. Aftermarket filters can be good. Actually can be better. Mann, Bosh, Mahle etc… I am buying cabin filters only with an activated carbon particles and yours, allegedly genuine Ain't. If you don't know the difference then you are missing out mate. They are absorbing the smells from outside and other pollutants.
My friend just had the dealer try to prison rape him for a cabin filter for 129 bucks. He did it himself for 29.

The honda place wann charge me 52.00 …. wtf ,,get outta here… i did it my self only paid..19.78 for thw filter… these dealers will get out on u if u dont know nun about a car…
Dealer wanted to charge me 80 bucks for that, I laughed.

As you probably know on some earlier vintage Hondas, such as a 2003 Pilot, the cabin filters are vertically oriented. The first time you change the filter in these cars you have to cut out and discard a horizontal support bar that runs along the bottom of the glove box. As a shadetree mechanic I don't know to what extent Honda used this setup and on which models but I ran into it two or three times. The first time you run into this you think, "What!?"
I wish they were all this easy…I vote the CAF as the most-overlooked maintenance item. Just did one on a 1999(!) Saab 9-3; it lives under the wiper cowl. Well there was a mouse nest on top of it too. Had to charge the customer half hour labor to shovel and vacuum the crap out of there lol
