Love how you dropped the 10mm and also said it was the 10mm. I've literally never dropped anything other than a 10mm in my engine bay. It's like a guarantee. Replaced a starter last week and used about 3 or 4 different sizes. One was even an 8mm but do you know which I dropped? 😑
A comment as requested. You stated you were not going to solder those connections as they are a high current draw item and you didn’t want the solder connection to melt. I’m thinking solder melts somewhere in the 800 degree f range. I’m also thinking that if that wire reached 800 degrees, you have a bigger problem than solder melting…..
Your failure to actually go read the manual and determine the proper operation of the fans is negligent. The fans operate in series for low speed, and parallel for high speed. There is a pressure transducer on the high side refrigerant line that reports to the climate control, (which is observable in data from the climate module) which then relays information over the data bus to the PCM, which then controls the three relays involved. Without compressor request the PCM operates the fans based on input from two ECTs one the radiator and one on the engine. In the limited amount of time that I can hear the fans after your "repair", it sounds like high speed only. During normal operation in our temperature conditions the system may occasionally cycle between low and high, but should not be "stuck" on high. The pressures indicate other issues with the system as well, 4 bar for the low side at an idle is excessive. I am confident that the cooling performance is not as designed, turning the blower down, and showing an air outlet temp of "42'" is not a good indication. I am sure that on high blower, outside air, with the hood up, it is not cooling as designed. Definitely not an "absolutely phenomenal diagnosis" !

As a Honda lube tech it was absolutely maddening to watch you overfill the oil and struggle with the odometer button. You had most of the reset process correct, after it stops flashing you release the button and then hold it down again till it shows 100%
Its due for coolant flush too

Hey Ray I wouldn’t spray Silicone on the electrical connections it has a habit of making the electrical connections bad. I think the issue looked like misaligned spade pins on the plug.

Question, if anybody knows. 2009 Accord, Ac compressor running, the fans are running, don't have the gauges to check the pressures. no cold air in the cab. Any help would be appreciated.
I knew the moment it launched off that it was a 10mm socket. You could tell by the evasive maneuvers it took after takeoff :))
Soldering is not ideal because of poor vibration resistance not because it might melt away. It might only get so hot that it melts once it has cracked from vibration and isn't making proper contact which in turn causes heating of the join.

Interested in what fan y’all used. Haven’t had good luck with aftermarket of those models. VDO gives about 18months which is on the better end. A denso motor to replace is like $800 for both (second always fails shortly after the first in my experience)

Is there not a high pressure cutout on this van?? Typically, the pressure relief valve is a last ditch effort to relieve system pressure before something blows apart.
Being old enough for free coffee I have recently started letting the younger kids do some of the grunt work on my vehicles- a few months back I had a young mechanic at the yard I drive rigs out of change the vacuum pump o-ring on my 3.5 Ecoboost. I'm just too damn old for laying across an engine anymore…
Bolt gravity reached up and grabbed one of the 3 pump bolts, and he went into full panic mode when he couldn't find it. It was a Sunday, we are out in BFG, and he knew no one would be open to get a replacement. After letting him sweat for a bit I grabbed the antigravity fishing rod and with a few tries pulled it out from between the trans heatshield and the cab floorpan. He now has one in HIS toolbox!
I liked your showing to remove the hood latch and 2nd fan- so many people will fight for an hour to save from spending 2 minutes moving things out of the way (Ford 1st Gen Escape fan assembly for example). As always, great video!

I had a hyundai elantra with one fan failed, it over pressured high enough to vent out the compressor safety valve. that was very exciting with my head under the hood looking around.
I think I left a bubble in the hood where I smashed my head into the bottom side, because I sure was moving away at high speed and had a lump on my head for a week 🤡

0W20 is thin as water. Based on the fact that you guys are located down in Florida aka a pretty warm climate and the oil consumption of this engine id use a 5W30 even.
