$150 timing cover due to too much silicone. i hate that stuff
PnP doesn't bother me. As a former wrench turner on 20k shaft HP GE's I find the content better than the visuals..
Keep up the great work and exceptional attitude towards gravity and torque…
👍
Come on man let him make it he's a good mechanic that alone itself is worth it
And this my Friends is the very reason that Vehicle Repair cost an Arm and Leg these Days–it takes forever sometimes to undress engine get to the problem…
I don’t know anything about pictures in pictures huh ?……I’m just glad for the video….
Thank you Ray !
Big fan of your work but I do not like the Picture in Picture. It’s choppy, out of sync, and not really helpful at all. Save yourself the hassle of messing with a second camera and stick to the single view.
Thanks for the video. What is the tool you used to pry off the timing chain gears? It is black with a "hook" at the end. I have needed a tool like that many times.
And the aluminum-safe die grinder attachment. Lol!
Seasick from frame in frame asynchronous motions.
I love the PIP
you gotta be kidding! the crank position sensor is behind all that shit?
Reeeeee!
We had a mustang come in that would shut off on the highway. Sat 20 minutes would start again. Everyone and their sister messed with the fuel system.
Turns out dirty ford had the crosshatch wear off cylinder walls and car would lose vacuum after highway driving.
HEY its the ugly Mustang Year! I remember this car
Yeah… not digging the PiP feature. My single brain cell can't process what I am seeing.
When I worked on 18 wheelers, we mechanics would mess with the drivers by writing on the inspection sheets (if needed) they needed:
Coolant in the winter, or:
Anti-freeze in the summer.
Some would go off asking why would I need coolant in the winter? It's cold as heck outside. (Not actual quote. Cleaned up for sensitive eyes)
Or they'd ask why they would need anti-freeze in the summer when it 98°(F) outside.
Apparently they didn't know it was the same stuff. But it was fun listening to the shop foreman trying to explain it to them. Some still wouldn't get it and argued until the foreman changed the wording.
Personally, I use a thin flexible putty knife. I used a 6" sander and thinned the blade(do only one side and do not over heat the putty knife while sanding). It works great when someone has used excessive amounts of RTV
EVERYTIME I REMOVED A WATER PUMP & WANTED TO RE-INSTALL…I WOULD SOAK IT IN COOLANT TO KEEP SEALS FROM DRYING OUT OR GETTING DAMAGED FROM LACK OF COOLANT(I KNOW I'M WIERD…) TOO MANY FAILURES RE USING SAME DRY…OH…WD-40 WILL DO THE SAME…DUH…I USED TO USE SOLUABLE OIL IN RADIATOR TO KEEP THERMOSTAT AND W/P LUBED…(YEAH…UNTIL I COULD GET GLYCOL BACK IN IT…)
HOW CAN YOU BREAK IS MORE AFTER A BUTCHER KILLED IT BEFORE HAND…BAD ENGINEERING IS ONE THING…BUT A BUTCHER…KILLS LIKE A THIEF…ROBBING OTHERS AFTER THEY ARE DONE!!!
you have to much gravity ,which I do not like
Hello Rain Man Ray's I just moved out a remote village for the past year I really like the way you explain I would do the same just to let you know I transition from small engines to trucks you've been so much help as an educator.
A shade tree mechanic messed up and broke/cracked that cover before you. One of those guys who can do it cheaper.
WOW very interesting super kool ,1st class great info.,, AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work
When i was younger working as a tire buster i would trip on how some mechanics acted like primadonnas. To put them in place other mechanics would add "parts from other vehicles"to the table where disassembled parts would be placed. After the jobe was done it was all you can do not to look and smile when the primadonnas where red faces pulling their hair out trying to figure out where the parts went.
I win – OPPS gonna need a new timing cover – LOL
what a rookie.
My Bigfoot friend could Yank that Gear off very easily…
Looked like you forgot the bolt on the left side.
Wow I just did the chains, guides and tensioners on my 2002 GT 4.6 and I have to say the V6 3.9 is ALOT different lol 😂
That look like the right stuff sealant.
That stuff is tough and strong.
Good wrenchin to ya there buddy Ford is why your tool budget is massive. I like Ford products but my tool box is overflowing with "once purchased" tools.
"bolts are all different lengths its ok though Ill figure that out later" lmfao I use that strat all the time
Ford is not too smart putting the crankshaft positioning sensor BEHIND the pulley….
So, to change it ($25), you have to remove all this hardware (labor = $300)….
OUCH…!!
Negative: Picture in Picture is cute, but it doesn't add much, ans seems to be distracting…..
Positive: You make interesting and funny videos…
Time warp…parallel alter nador universe.
Time warp
Your procedure was wrong!! You should have taken lose more of the oil pan bolts and you would not have broken the COVER! I feel sorry for whoever owns the Mustang, and you, for taking advantage of them was wrong by suggesting the gasket was bad. To all of your followers who believe in you are obviously like backseat drivers. Blind to the obvious. Enough said! If you don't understand keep following him. Good day!!
Lose the Picture in Picture. Distracting. Plus timing way off.
I hated turning wrenches for a living but your video's almost makes me want to do it again.
Horrible pic in pic
Hurry up dude im wstchin this on myexercise bike 😉
Have u ever thought of being a brain surgeon. Marvelous work!!
dislike from me dew too 2ed camera view
What the hell did they bind that with that it broke? That seems insane…
This brought back strong feels from doing the timing chain on my 78 dodge magnum 360
Found insert video very distracting.
Was there a third screw for the timing chain tensioner ?
