Was it missing bump stop rubbers in the front end?

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Don D. says:

    Enjoyed all 4 ‘episodes’!

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Uncle Bullhorn says:

Fascinating! I never really knew what went into a wheel alignment. I learn things everytime I watch Ray's videos.

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Darryl Shaw says:

Yep l did. Great video series!

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Goodie Smalls says:

Watched all 4 parts back 2 back like long videos

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars OK Boomer says:

Excellent mini-series! I finally got to see the details of how an alignment is done, too. Very educational. Thanks, Ray!

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Drover Moore says:

I like the attention to detail on the alignment specifications.

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Doug Kelley says:

I thought it had money light on also.

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Philip Ershler says:

I may have missed it, but I don’t recall seeing you wind up that linear spring in the front.

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Asap Rulers says:

Did you go to school for this ray or just acquired this knowledge on the field? Because you are very professional

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Richard Garwood says:

You're very professional, keep the videos coming! Your knowledge as a technician and mechanic combined with the way you approach and explain things is nearly scrupulous

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars starving artist says:

I wonder how Henry Ford went about doing all this stuff,,,,I've heard he didn't care if it was lined up or not, long as he could sell it, he just stuck a wagon wheel on it and sent it out the door !

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Greg Lopez says:

    Awesome 👏👍

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars MrMoon275 says:

Now I can see why wheel alignment are expensive.
I was wondering what did they do years ago before this machine?

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Geoff Mower says:

Very informative and educational for us unworthy wanna be mechanics. Good job.👍

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John LaCroix says:

This video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work. WOW very interesting 1st class very kool great info.,, AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars GARY OSBORNE says:

Great series of videos. Learned a couple of things but the most important thing I learned is to leave this stuff to the professionals.

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Wesley Staub says:

    I did very informative 😊

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Thoridin58 says:

I can remember when you made adjustments using shims.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kelly C says:

That is one SUPER clean 2004!

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Allen Riek says:

    I watched all, great job!!!!

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mitch says:

Would adding those Z71 rear springs which lifted the rear height throw off the stock caster alignment specs? Thx

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Hola! Jack Via says:

I guess a dumb question on alignment is the wear on tires a factor

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Not Sure says:

Wow what was GM thinking when they came up with those alignment specs? Positive camber? That thing is going to handle like crap and probably understeer bad! Generally you want 3-4 degrees negative camber on a road car. With positive camber and those tall tires it’s likely going to rip the sidewalls up and try to drive over it’s own tire in a corner!

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kevin Henson says:

    That was good work

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Elizabeth Howard says:

I watched them all! Good Job!

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars super saranac says:

Great job dude. I watched all 4 they were great.

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kevan Phillips says:

    Maestro

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars PNW RC says:

Definitely a job, but NOT as much of a pain in the arse as I thought an alignment would be on this vehicle!

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Phil Overton says:

I've just recently had a 4 wheel alignment done on my car and they used a spirit level to make sure the wheel was level and pointing centre and the car is perfect

  31. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Gary Wyckoff says:

    Awesome job as always!
I finally had a chance to sit down and watch the series all the way through. I work on these often I was wondering. Did you by chance replace the missing bumpstops in the front? They get old and crumple to dust So they're easily overlooked.

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kevin DeTrude says:

I watched all 4 in a row and there's still a check engine light and no front timbrens!!!! I want my money back!

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Brian Neal says:

last video where you replaced those springs, you should have replaced the shocks to account for the extra lift. Now those shocks are going to slam when the springs unload. At the least, check the part numbers for the Z71 model to see if the part numbers are the same. I don't know GMs that well, but I imagine a higher lift would require a longer shock

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars richardwernst says:

What, if anything, special did you have to do/alignment to compensate for the change in stance with rear higher? Or is that all automatically compensated for by current/modern alignment setups?

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Vesa Karhunen says:

Did you forget to tighten the torsion springs wedges

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars roythearcher says:

An excellent series of vids, even for me in the UK where most of the vehicles you work on are totally alien to us!

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Julian P says:

Thats a nifty machine! Any link to Amazon lol lol

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars J 1978 says:

My OCD is asking why is the check engine light on?

  39. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Johnny Shell says:

Did I miss the re tensioning part on the torsion bars? That will definitely mess up the alignment if they aren't pretty even

  40. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars porksboy says:

Need more info on that flash light. The way it gets tossed around and survives, I need one!

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars MonkeyJedi99 says:

Suburban drove in Chaotic Neutral, drove off Lawful Good.

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Todd Giambruno says:

Great series Ray! Its good to see a customer want to invest in a decent vehicle and make it safe and enjoyable again!

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ptroinks says:

I wonder what all that work on the truck cost the owner…

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Isaiah Welch says:

Hey Ray! Awesome video, especially the alignment process. Most people have no idea how much a bad alignment can ruin driveability, not to mention tires.

Loved watching the alignment work — and yes, it can be frustrating trying to get the measurements right. But when you get it right, it's well worth it! As others have said, the only thing more I would have liked to see is for you to take the customer for a ride, on your little route, on the interstate, and see the customer's reaction!

    Awesome series, Ray!

  45. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jaytalks Talks says:

Love the videos! And great series! My next vehicle alignment I’m coming to you lol..well I wish I could anyway!

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars catwrangler16 says:

Good 👍 job professor good wrench 🔧

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Butchcub75 says:

What about the check engine light video?

  48. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars PlayaOfGames says:

ok new perspective on alignments they look like there a pain in the ass never knew lol

  49. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars yeager99j says:

Never checked nor adjusted ride height? Alignment 101……..I’m sure a lot of the camber/caster on drivers side could of been resolved by doing that and not moving cams so much

  50. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars SPYDER says:

If all alignment shops were as good as you. Discount tire shops think toe in and out is all you need.
