Come along with me as I take this hot rod 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara that was dropped off from a used car sales man for a ride and see if we fixed it from part I. Haven't seen part one yet?

I never someone complain so much about the replacement of oxygen sensor on a vehicle. And the fact that the other fools who call themselves mechanics in your area couldnt diagnose a simple oxygen sensor on such a simple vehicle equally baffles my mind. These vehicles including their twin the Chevrolet Trackers are bullet proof, easy to maintain and can literally run forever. I have one with damn near 500 000 miles on it.

One hell of a salesman that can sell a car that doesn't work, bald tires, bad seat belt and can't pass inspection. Think what he could do with good cars for sale.

You got to love people who make money at other people's expense. Especially when they try to tell you how to do your job. Car dealers and house flippers both act like experts. It's a crazy world.

It is simple, charge the car owner twice what you paid for it, and 15 minutes labor. Soon these idiots will get the message "fill it before bringing it in to SMA."

Eric, your videos always put me in a great mood. I'm learning a ton, too. Apparently I'm not alone–this video is about 4 years old and you're expressing gratitude for 4,000 subscribers. I saw you turn over to 341,000 recently and growing every day. Makes my heart feel pretty good that your channel is doing so well. There's a lot of crap on the ol' YouTube, but it seems a lot of good folks appreciate your skills, wisdom and humor, not to mention the divine and awesome Mrs. O. Thanks, man.

As a car dealer and repairer the reason used cars usually have little fuel is because if the thing gets stolen it is far more likely to be found. And going by the code it has 15 litres of fuel.. that is at least 100ks of travel. If in doubt take a jerry can with you.
Plus take 40 cars with 10 litres of fuel each that is a fair bit of money, worse going stale as unleaded does.
These modern vehicles with all the electronic nonsense make too many cars junk, especially as the manufacturers either do not have the parts or want a fortune for the ones they do have. When a car is current they have few parts, when it it is out of model and 2 years old most parts are available and from there simply become obsolete or aftermarket parts [like that Bosch a/f meter] complete with usually adapter cables. And here in Oz it is worse as we now have all imported cars. With little back up.
My brother in the motorcycle industry has often a million dollers worth of bikes waiting on parts. The reason [with age] I seldom do outside work now. Making my own vehicles work properly uses too much time.

…..if the fuel pump had died, undoubtedly there would have been a full tank and you wouldn't have needed yer gas can. 😒

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bkon says:

Emission testing is not currently required in Minnesota. Minnesota required emissions inspections from 1991 to 1999 because the Twin Cities did not meet federal air quality standards. But in 1999, Minnesota's air status was reclassified. no test needed.

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jason joncas says:

I have a driveability problem so I will bring it to my mechanic with almost no gas in it because I dont want the mechanic to burn too much gas and cost me too much money. And when my vehicle wont start sometimes I will just fill the tank to the brim that will fix it. Please Please If you are a novice in the world of auto repair the 2 comments for said are the pain in the ass misconception is the problem. HELLO you have a problem when you drive the vehicle you need gas in the tank to drive your car does not run on pixee dust and when you ran your car around forever with less than a quarter tank and then thought filling it would fix the damaged fuel pump you are your worst enemy. You will get that car back with 1 quarter less fuel and bitch that the repair shop took the fuel. You are a moron dont cry and bitch about a subject you have no clue about. Mabey you are a doctor or lawer but you sucked in auto class we are king here.

On a seperate slip aside from the repair order write one for $13.00 a gallon and $15 fuel installation Surcharge and see how many more times they keep doing that little number. If by chance they still do it Laugh all the way to the bank .

It's a car from a used car lot, they drain any remaining gas in the tank and only put about 1 or 2 gals so that any potential customers won't take the car out for a long drive to find any problems with the car. Great fix.

  50. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jan Verschueren says:

$3k for that? -sheesh. Surely there's better cars out there at that pricepoint (opens used car website)… here we go: '99 Honda Civic 2.0TDi 4 door from a Honda dealer. 2 owners, just under 100k miles, full service history, rust free, Belgian state inspection valid until September… $2350,-.

So either that guy is a grade A crook or used cars are really expensive in the US.
