A great job sir as always, your an inspiration to many

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Michael j says:

Very poor design, there is a better way to do that, have front access,as I always say, poor design and engineering

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars marc schlaufman says:

Brings back nightmares. 3 ford escort heater cores. Same deal, remove dash board.

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tim Reichwein says:

I feel your pain. Had to remove the dash on my King Ranch a few years ago to replace the heater core. Really nasty job. Never again.

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars buixote says:

It does make one question the purpose of a dashboard… 😉

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tiddybearkush says:

Ford is one of the worst cars ever made…

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Pilgrim says:

You could probably do a procedure like GM has you do in a service bulletin on a lot of Silverados. You use something like a 1 1/4” hole saw to make a hole in the box, change the sensor through that hole, then put a plug into the box and silicone it in. Very easy process and looks like it would work on this one too. Just make sure you do it high enough as to not leak from the water that drains off of the evaporator core.

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Fly gal says:

    You have some mad skills

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tyg says:

Seems like a department of redundancy department construction…

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Salty Creole says:

Has anybody ever seen an Aortic Aneurysm Surgery? Customer showed me his. The whole video. Looks kinda like this.

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Eric Wagar 5 plus 6 equals 21 is answer says:

If you warmed that plastic box up with a heat gun you would have got the inch you wanted to get it open and greatly reduced the chance of cracking the plastic

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars James White says:

Could you have drilled hold in the general area (being very careful not to drill the core) and pulled it out then used a plastic plug to plug the hole. I'm no machanic but just a thought.

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars greg says:

I feel for you ray, ive done jobs like that and they suuuuck!

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars greg says:

What kind of sadistic bastard would make the sensor an intergral part of the evap coil? I suspect greed as the reason for it.

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Nathan A says:

I would quit my job right there✌. I can't believe how stupidly complex the engineering has gone into all this… This all could've been avoided if ford just sold the right sensor and made an accessable hatch in the hvac box.

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Samil101 says:

I would’ve turned the cameras off and cut an access hole! 🤷🏾‍♂️

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars PNW Nighthorse says:

My Dad was a Ford mechanic amd warned me about getting into Ford dashes. What a mess.

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars RadioReprised says:

I sold my 2000 Durango 4x because the evap core was leaking and it was a 2K fix for this. The later years they made the core replaceable without all this drama! Give me my 67 Chevy Camper Special back!!

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars David Millhollon says:

    That's what she said.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars alphaville99 says:

    Wow…….speechless!

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars edward sayetta says:

Just cut a square 'window' out of the plasic box with a solder iron .use the seam of the box as one side of square……..push in a new OEM sensor in the coil…….epoxy (or plastic weld) the square back in. You can get a new OEM or used one……do test it first…

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Needaman Carpentry says:

"Just an inch"? Is that what your misses says? 🤣😂 kidding, dont shoot me

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jim Mousseau says:

Just another reason to be happy that I have never owned or will own a FORD.

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars David Williams says:

20 degrees at the vent without the system self destructing would be awesome.

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Premier Broadband says:

    nightmare!!

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mike Oxinya says:

I'm getting pissed off and irritated watching this I can't imagine how he feels actually doing it. Then knowing you have to put it all back together. You're a better man than me.

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mike Oxinya says:

This is absolutely ridiculous. The amount of stuff you have to do to replace this thing.🤪

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jack Harrison says:

Ray you must have a photograph memory all those screws that you take it out and tossing around in there you’ve got to have a photographic memory figure out where they all go to you are a hell of a mechanic buddy I wish you lived closer to where I live I’d be one of your best customers👍👨🏻‍🦳👍

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Yowe Kemos says:

Man 😱😱, how do you organize the bolts and nuts and know where and how to put them back together? 😒

Such a huge work for a stupid design flow. I don't know how you do it.

Your skill level and patience 👌 is way up there.

More blessings 🙌 to you man. You will have a successful business if you start one workshop yourself. I woukd very much tip you in that direction.

You’re the best info/entertainment on both sides of the Mississippi

  31. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars First SGT Strickland says:

I know it wasn't the OEM for that truck but I called my Ford parts guy and ordered a sensor for a focus because the only way I could get the right one was with a new evaporator.
It's been on the road for 3 years sense. ( It was a hack but he liked it)
    it was a 2010 f150

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars doctajonz says:

How do you remember how to put everything back together?

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars VB says:

I have to commend you Ray for trying to save the guy some time and money, nice try.

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Michael Blonski says:

That is not surprising! 2003 Ram 1500 heater core takes 12 hours to replace per dodge. I did it in 12 hours. When ready to install, there was nothing left on the fire wall but the steering column. Core was only $70

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Justin 640 says:

I would reject any repair that requires a dash removal. Did it once and would never do it again!

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Aaron Burson says:

My 95 grand Cherokee was the same way. Take out the entire dash just to replace heater core. I said FLUSH IT!

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars G R says:

Well……that’s a dirty trick Ford pulled.
What an absolute nightmare to deal with.
This is why I drive old vehicles.
No fancy probe sensors buried under dash boards.

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars pilot stiles says:

That’s the way they do it. Auto companies do this on purpose. Add hours of labor with expensive replacement parts. This creates an additional source of income for them and the dealers. SMH!

  39. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars deelkar says:

And you complain German cars are complicated…

  40. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Wayne says:

    This is engineering stupidity

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Wayne says:

No way I could keep up with where all the pieces go and I’ve worked in maintenance all my life

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tom Kennedy says:

As I'm watching all your videos (in reverse order) I'm reminded why in 2005 I signed up with SiriusXm so I would never have to listen to Commercial Radio again. How many times have I heard Four Non Blondes now? Great song, ruined by repetition.

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tom Kennedy says:

There's an interiors engineer somewhere chuckling: " ha ha, told ya so"

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Gregory Lewis says:

What an absolute obscenity of engineering. That thermocouple should be easily accessible. This is why you should never buy a Ford product. They don't give a damn about you.

  45. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Joseph Balsano says:

P I don't know how you can remember where everything goes back together you got me confused big time buddy but you do do an excellent job I think you're pretty cool man and you're down with it you're all right kid I'm 62 years old and you're doing that that's excellent compared to the jobs that I used to do I have to pull motors out of cars with my hands never use the engine hoist I'm talking about a big old 460 out of a freaking Lincoln put it back in my Ford F-250 that truck was a beast the name was Brutus okay Jake keep up with it you do excellent work talk to you and win goodbye your friend Joe

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Joseph Balsano says:

P you have to call Peter to help you with the steering wheel tell him he's being summons

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Olias 2k9 says:

I remember a similar task, the heater in my Citroen Bx went down and the heater element wouldnt leave it "Convenient" slot so had to take the whole Heater unit out.

  48. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dave Colvin says:

Why didn't you buy the whole evap take sensor out and do what we're originally going to do .make customer buy part but save 700 in labor

  49. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Lawless says:

utterly ridiculous design, superb entertainment of tear down! I am trying to remember the order to reassemble!
