In a previous video https://youtu.be/PrEh0zK4BI0 I looked at a Toyota Camry that was towed in for a no start. We made the call on the fuel pump and the car was towed away for a cheaper fix. Welllll.... it's back ๐Ÿ˜! -Enjoy!

I wanted to point out on the Ebay specials. Ebay sells many OEM parts, used and new. Many Toyota dealers have Ebay accounts, many junk yards like LKQ also sell on Ebay, Ebay is just a platform that is comprised of many part sellers. Ebay does not directly sell anything. Any yes Ebay sells these cheap Chinese fuel pumps too. I also want to point out I have installed parts from reputable places and they have turned out defective as well. One time I installed three "new" starters, each one defective. I also have installed many OEM parts from junkyard and they were garbage. Junkyards on some parts are NOT economical, some parts costs as much as a brand new aftermarket part. I don't think this customer is "stupid", everyone is trying to save money, but sometimes things go wrong. We also don't know if the customer has other priorities like paying for rent or paying for his kids schooling. He might not have $400 for an new OEM pump, plus the repair costs. At the end of the day, its easy for all of us arm chair mechanics with MBA's to give opinions, but to be honest, should we call him stupid since he needs a mechanic to fix it? I have not visited a mechanic in decades. I think this is were you get ripped off. This guy probably paid at least $350 at minimum (if not more) for a one hour repair, but everyone is trippin on the Ebay pump.

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kurt Hamblin says:

Yup where I'm from we call that a penny wise but a pound foolish. Also what we do is actually replace the pump its self. So we disassemble the whole pump and replace the motorize pump then rebuild and test then deliver.
