@Rainman Ray's Repairs, is it just me or does your shop need a good receptionist/cashier/service writer/doo-dee-doo answerer? I can't help but notice the greatly increased duration of doo-dee-doos in your videos from about the last month or so. I guess good doo-dee-dooists must be hard to find.

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Phương Ma says:

Watch them all videos , still need more , like 3 per day 😂😂😂 , getting boring

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Eric Knoblauch says:

The purge valve looks like the one Ford used on the Freestar. I had a 0442 code come up on my Freestar. The shops could not find a leak. The purge valve ended up having a crack in it, and was doing the same thing as the one you tested. I replaced it, and also found a crack in the rubber hose where it ran into the fuel tank vent valve. To replace the vapor canister purge valve I had to remove the outer and lower cowl. Since the repair the 0442 code has been gone. Ford could have done a better job when they came up with a location on the vehicle to place the purge valve so it could have been replaced with ease.

You are starting to sound more and more like your old self! Welcome back Ray!

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars SR5_91 says:

Since that diagnostic took you 3 min and you did not use a professional scan tool.
Do that mean the customer only pays for a free code read not a engine diagnostic???

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars SR5_91 says:

$60 for a door handle is not worth it ok lol to each there own.
What happens when there window stops working?
Then they have to get out of the passenger side then maybe it’s worth it?

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tyan i7505 says:

Your green & red electric socket ratchets you have (and used in this video), what models are those and do you recommend them? Would definitely make jobs a lot more efficient.

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars EsWing says:

Flex has the same thing. P0442. But it’s a cap less thing. The fact they make that handle out of plastic is crazy.

Give them the option of getting a door latch from a salvage yard, or aftermarket

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars BROSEPH997 says:

As a not so proud owner of a 07 mercury Milan (glorified fusion) if the handle/lock break like that you can pull on both at the same time to open the door instead of opening from the outside. Also the door stops locking if that happens lol

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars jbauern57 says:

The cracked windshield is affecting vehicular integrity, hence the vibration.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Travis says:

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mr. DirtySouthDog says:

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars kevin r says:

Those Fusion door handles were so bad but the rest of the car was great when I had mine

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jeffrey Anderson says:

They can get a after market handle cheaper on line, I did!

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ryan Allen says:

    60 bucks for a door handle isn't bad unless it's a dorman.

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars 99codemister says:

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars julius liles says:

A lack of nut gravity is what's wrong with the world.

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Office Info says:

I have same error code. Replaced Purge valves, gas caps, charcoal filter and more. Did not FIX it. Just be prepared for this car to return. I still have same error code and check engine code.

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Just another Troll 😁 says:

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars scanner lanier says:

what about engine shake? Was it a broken mount?

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars wakcedout says:

At least the customer decided while it was in the shop to see about the door handle they've tried their hand at.

Also doesn't the shop you work at not have a nearby junkyard tp try sourcing cheaper parts?

And damn the text you on instagram bots are quick. And the fact they think ill click their links assuming it was the real rainmanray. Nah, if rainmanray had something for me he would do it from his youtube acocunt not some spam account lol

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Hoser Man says:

I definitely would change that handle in case the car caught on fire.

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Eric Korn says:

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars 1ltcap says:

door handles on these ALWAYS break. i don't even pull anything apart anymore to diag. these…….if i feel a limp handle, i just quote out a new inner handle.

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mr. Gowron says:

I like how car companies see fit to put parts in the most convenient places >_>

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tony Clark says:

Oh,! And that won't be the only cheap plastic part on that fusion that will break all on its own

  39. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Drackar says:

I just don't get refusing a $60 part. They're already what… $20 in labor into having you pull that damn door? They'll be another $20 in labor to have someone else pull and replace that damn door. Plus having to open the power window every time they need to open/close the door drastically increases the chance of needing to replace that damn window motor, which is usually a lot more of a pain in the ass.

  40. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tony Clark says:

I've owned a 2008 fusion, I changed my door handle twice, made of cheap brittle plastic

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Christopher Mac says:

When he pulled the door panel off all I could think about was all the trouble Ray had with that mid 90’s BMW door panel when he replaced the window motor. I thought his brain was going to explode trying to get the door handle cover replaced

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Comfort Zone says:

  49. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mary Mulrooney says:

You are pardoned on your confusion on the fact that it's a Fusion.

  50. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Job38 Four says:

How come you never check local salvage yards for used parts, that door latch might be acquired for $10.00……

  51. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Scott Spencer says:

I would have paid 60 bucks to be able to open my door from the inside. Priorities…

  52. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars George Leavell says:

"we do NOT like it when gravity meets our nuts"…

  53. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jonathan A says:

My mother's 2010 Fusion, same thing, inside door handle broke. I bought a new one and changed it myself. Also had a small evap leak, but need a new fuel filler neck.

  54. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Scotty Bear says:

Ray your influenced many people to attempt to work on there own vehicle and many others are happy with you being a honest mechanic. You got a good thing going for you and you tube needs to recognize your accomplishments who knows you may end up on the motor trend channel with your own show if you need side kick get hold of me and I be glad to

  55. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Robert Qman says:

Is it just me ?… Since I started watching Ray's videos I find myself talking to my tools and my other shops inanimate objects … It's actually very comforting … Lol.

  56. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Greg Adams says:

What customers do is have you do the heavy lifting, then get their cousin Jose to source the part and install it.

  57. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars eddy Mahon says:

Problem number one. It’s a Ford Fusion.

  58. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Steve Niemyer says:

The handle was a terrible design in the fire fusion. We had two fusions in our family and I changed 4 of them. I remember the replacements costing less then $20, but I guess in todays world $60 is the new $20😉

  59. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars glitch00011 says:

I think that's the first time I've seen him grab the wrong screw !

  60. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Thomas Baker says:

  61. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dubious says:

    Engineers failed at their job.

  63. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars DSMattitude says:

A habit to remember is…."When you Enter The Service Bay, OPEN THE HOOD BONNET."

  65. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Rodeo Bob says:

Ray, how do you know the new purge valve fixed the Fusion without looking at scan data? Can’t you open and close the valve and check fuel tank pressure? Just because it’s new doesn’t mean it’s good right?

  66. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars PossibleDecoy says:

They don't think it's worth $60 to be able to open their own door from the inside? That must be one neglected car.

  67. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars skat kat says:

like all your videos….very entertaining….just don't go stupid ok LOL
    al

  68. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Neal Schwartz says:

  75. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars wally chambe says:

You didn't check the new part for proper operation, not all new parts are good!😁😁😁😁

  76. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Robert Page says:

I'm sure a junkyard door handle would have been cheaper but I know that you're not doing this as an independent mech. I do wonder if you ever do "on the side" repairs.
You may not be able to answer that question as I would understand.
Have you ever thought of writing a sitcom script based around a congenial fix-it shop mechanic and all the many strange and weird experiences that you come across.
Characters would be a "Latka Gravis" mechanic type buddy. A sexy order writer and or secretary and a host of wacky customers. Even the cars could be characters depending on what you find. Maybe a van comes in full of illegal immigrants for an oil change.
Could call it, "Rainy Days and Mondays".

  79. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Chris Smith says:

Those Fusions door handles on the inside driver side break religiously, it honestly should be a recall, or a free part

  80. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Don's Junkmail says:

    and chickens…

  81. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Don's Junkmail says:

Put a regular door knob on.

  82. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jonathan Deitch says:

I had a small EVAP leak code on my Jeep … wasn't the gas cap, wasn't the purge valve either. Turned out after 23 years the charcoal canister was sending dust into the EVAP valve and ruining it.

As it turns out, a mid 80s Pontiac charcoal canister fits a 97 Jeep (the OEM part is long NLA) and it fixed the problem … until the next emissions test when the aftermarket gas cap failed the leak test … MOPAR replacement FTW.

Now, at 25 years old, no more emissions tests. It qualifies as an actual antique vehicle.

  83. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Keith Newton says:

American Ford fusion is very different to Europe fusion . The European is mini mpv

  84. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Don's Junkmail says:

  89. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Michael Anello says:

Hey Ray I don't post on YouTube but I felt as though I needed to today. The question is where to start lol, I first started watching your stuff and about 10 mins in to the video I realized your in SRQ at as it has it my old shop! I used to work in that building using those lifts years ago when it was Tires Plus! Anyway what a small world I really appreciate your thought process in diagnosis it reminds me of how I work through similar issues! I don't live down there anymore but I still have family maybe I will run into you one of these days will definitely recommend my family to bring there vehicles to you though!

  90. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars VE6AS says:

Once they start making cars out of Twinkies we will be able to eat them when they wear out in a few years.

  93. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Grande Gringo says:

I would like to point something out at this point, what in the hell is the deal with these cars? On board computers navigation devices and so on and they still can't tell you exactly what's wrong with them? Anything with a view screen on the dash should be able to diagnose the exact problem and order the damn part for you should you choose to take that route. I could understand all of these complicated systems if these things were capable of flight, but every damn car out there these days operates on the same principle that my 81 Datsun operates on they just piled on a bunch of electronic sprinkles to try and make it look like some kind of advancements have been made.

  94. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars OG TintTricks -Derek Nickels says:

Lol, doesn't matter you didn't show the lower door trim screw going back in, we didn't see it coming off! 😂 Can't fault you mixing up focus /fusion, they share so many parts-except the badge staring you in the face! 😂

  95. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jean Claude Van Dam says:

I would pay 60 bucks to be able to open my door from the inside. Especially since it is a safety issue for sure.

  96. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Terry Stick says:

I watch your videos and please turn down the loud music in background. It's distracting when I am listening to your voice. I am hearing impaired and have my aids connected to my TV by bluetooth.

  98. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars richard abner says:

Due to no door parts availability that is too bad. If it were my car I wi you ld try a pick it yourself salvage yard or take latch off and see if i might do a repair on it with some epoxy a exacto knife and small file or such
