Good video Ray.
Me: Watching this bored at work while I have a cold, waiting for the next ten hours to pass so I can go home and have my two days off
Rainman: Have a great day!
Come on, Ray…I'm trying!
This is why the joke about increasing the price if 'you watch' 'if you help' 'if you worked on it first' or 'if you say I heard it on the internet'.
'…it's so stiff…'
What about the drive shaft?
1. Don't use a grinder to clean electrical contacts.. they are tin or nickel coated and if you remove the coating it will corrode in a month on the road.. used contact cleaner and a fine Scotch rite. If you remove the coating, spray with gylptal etc to prevent future corrosion
2. Clean corroded relay and fuse contacts with contact cleaner too.
3. Always mark the drive shaft so you can put it back the same way… Over time the balance can become positional.
I can't believe you don't put witness marks on the bearings you pull apart. Bearings wear out of true, and they need to re-assembled in the way they came from. Otherwise, they're out of balance, and will rumble, wearing the part out faster.
hey, this problem wouldn't hapen to also be common to old Mitsubishis and other Japanese makes would it? I had the fusebox open in a Montero Sport, and the fusible links were all corroded INSIDE their casings.
I've been lucky and most problems are an easy fix like this.
Who knew taping wires together was a bad idea….? LOL
Hahaha, what till his truck starts dying while driving.
As an amateur mechanic nothing hurts worse than finding out you did the right thing the wrong way

Some people should have their tools taken away…

Did you ever put the nuts back on the ecm?….and remember kids…you cant replace the ecm without programming your keys to it or you have to get the keys and key cylinder that goes with the new ecm or your auto will not start.
I've used duct tape for a electrical repairs when i was stuck on the side of the road. Then i fixed it properly after i got home
Very interesting. It seems a good deal of being a mechanic is quite it bit of investigative work.
Ohhhh then you'll love working on my 2001 Honda Accord. I affectionately call it Connie the Rattle Can"! I do all my own work of course.
The OCD in me wants to rotate those u-joint caps so they’re center in that yoke and not 1/4 mooned.
Your certain is incorrect… That aftermarket wiring is actually factory wiring for the 12 volt supply to the trailer brake. So confidence is way down.
Geez, I did better wiring repairs on vacuum cleaners than that. That one will be back in 3-2-1… It ain't gonna be happy with that cam sensor for long.
you know he's a real mechanic.. he swears at the parts
There isn’t a connector for the neutral safety switch?
Shaft is so stiff – thats what she said
For the moral of the story, this heavily applies to my job working tech support for an access control system. Find what someone did to try and fix it, because sometimes what they did to fix it breaks or hides another problem.
Read the two small wires when is brake control one is charge line for the tow plug
it's time to duct tape z auto
Nice stereo effect when the cop went by!!
If the wiggle test triggers something, then those cables should be replaced entirely, probably destroyed cables IMHO; and I'd be wrong.
Why people don't fix properly their vehicles? it bothers me, they're going to be a hazard, on the highways specially, for everybody
They do make a spray contact cleaner you could have used on the relays and sockets.
I often wonder what the dealership charges for this kind of work.🤔
Great video thanks
Always messes me up seeing the flickering odometer and radio display but it’s the frame rate of camera and the displays fighting each other 🤣
not to dog the guy that tried to fix his car but Google and YouTube exist
if you get a chine out of wiggling some wires under the hood, god youve got a fire hazard on your hands
Man you do good work.
Your the man brother
5 people for that? Try pushing a full sized truck up a slant with 5 people XD
Thank you for you diligence and countence!
Someone almost lost an eye when the wobbly bit got engaged.
Loved the sped up clip of zombie in the background near the end!
What about the ECM you swapped back? Was the original OK?
Ya gotta wonder why rats are so obsessed with wire harnesses. Is there some material that has an odor that triggers them? Can we create a spray that smells worse?
