We've been waiting 40 minutes for fish tacos and then fried cod with french fries. This restaurant sucks. I'm about to leave so there's a bunch of food over here. I Got burgers, fries and whatnot.
We were the first people here I Still can't get fish tacos? You don't want it anymore? No. I'm not even hungry anymore. I'm hungry. Been hungry for about an hour.
Let's go. Yeah, we've been waiting like an hour for fried fish. He's not going to happen. I'm out.
we're leaving. I was on like a 2-hour lay layover. Thought we would have like a nice lunch or whatever and now I'm going to McDonald's because you guys suck at your job in Atlanta.
I just recently went to my local MALL here in the Philippines where my wife and I love the food at the American restaurant, Kenny Rogers, we sat outside the resto on the scenic balcony and waited and waited for service, after flagging down a server, she then told us that we need to go order our food at the cashier. WELL, I did that, but its the last time we eat at Kenny Rogers in the MALL. Its some of the best food around the entire country in my opinion but they lost our business. If it was all buffet at that time, they should have pulled the menus from the entryway, as I grabbed 2 on the way in, so to answer your question now, buffet or not, we needed to order all meals at the cashier, and all our 2 menu based meals came from the buffet of pre-cooked foods, I also had to go pick up the orders when my buzzer was buzzing, SAD. So you guessed it, NO TIP. Foreigners would normally tip and locals normally would not, I would think they would serve foreigners at least take the chance WTF.
I think that walk-out is fair enough ! I have done it… As an ex European, even after 17 years I can't get used to tipping, which is considered demeaning there; coz its like their lordships tossing change to the crawling underclass
I've worked in food service for over 30 years now, and can honestly say I don't blame you and Wife Unit for leaving, Ray. That level of incompetence is ridiculous….and I've unfortunately have worked in establishments where the front of house (FOH) staff is like that. It's embarrassing, to say the least. Makes the establishment as a whole look bad. Venue I work at now is inside a casino….and lemme tell ya, this crap don't happen there. Casino is all about keeping the guests happy. Sounds like Atlanta Airport could learn a thing or two.
Its not just Atlanta.
We don't eat out at all now, unless we are away from home and desperate. Can't beat home cooking with home grown produce.. Being kept waiting for unhealth food served with indifference and costing too much doesn't seem appealing to me.
I went in a McD’s and stood at the cash register over 5 min..the workers wouldn’t even acknowledge I was there..🙄
Service sucks everywhere now.
At the ATL airport you should go to Chicken N Beer on terminal D.
Exactly what I would have done! Food cost too much to be on the bad end of the deal.
Problem is the airport has a constant parade of people passing through so you did them a favor by leaving. They will not improve because they simply don’t have to. But I do have a basic rule: if someone gets seated AFTER me and waited on BEFORE me, we (me and my wallet) leave.
That’ll teach ya for trying to be fancy! 😂
😂 yeah ATL restaurants have been struggling lately with customer service. Sorry reeeee, I apologize on their behalf.
i sincerely wish more people would apply this tactic to other shitty companies and industries. like subscription heated seats. like car companies scraping data from your phone while you drive, like refrigerators requiring internet connection and bricking when their "firmware" is out of date (hello samsung). when tipping is demanded for a to go order.
each person who accepts it just empowers that company to be even shittier.
I love that youre not afraid to call people out on their bs
Server abandoned you, walk out and don't worry.
I’ve to many restaurants and ordered our food plus a salad. We got our food that sucked then we got our salad and drinks an hour later
Took my wife and her best friend, a longtime family friend, and my son to Mother's Day brunch one Sunday. It was considered a ritzy bakery, sweets shop and THE place to have brunch. Couples old and young. Everybody taking Mom or Grandma out for brunch. We were served our drinks promptly. Mimosas, Bloody Mary's and coffee. Life's good! Then we waited for 30 minutes, then 45 minutes to order. Nothing. Looked around and folks were grumbling and walking out. It takes a lot to get us to walk because my wife was a waitress in high school and college, and she gives the benefit of the doubt. We walked out and put a $20 on the table for the drinks. Walked around the back of the building to the parking lot and the owner and the cook/chef were leaning against the building smoking cigarettes and talking. I guess they didn't anticipate the Mother's Day rush and just threw in the towel.
Well, I have enjoyed reading about the experiences of the viewers. I have had my fair share of bad restaurant experiences, no doubt. However, I want to share an awesome experience I had at a steak house in Oxnard, Alabama. I was there for work and a friend came through so we met for dinner at this steak house. We were seated right away and were talking and catching up with each other for several minutes when a waiter came by and asked if someone had taken our drink order. We told him "No" so he took our order and apologized for the wait as our waitress was finishing up with a large group and was delayed. A minute later, the manager comes with our drinks apologizing profusely for our wait. We both told him it was no problem and we were not in a hurry. He apologized again and told us to pick an appetizer on the house. A few minutes later, our waitress shows up with the free appetizer and is also apologetic. We assure her that it is no big deal, and it wasn't as the wait wasn't that bad anyway. So, we both order prime rib and she tells us they may be out but she will go check in the kitchen. Being out of prime rib isn't uncommon here and the menu even says "served until we run out for the day." Soon, she comes back and apologizes that they are out of prime rib so we order other cuts of steak. When our meal is ready, it is the manager who brings us our food. He says, "Man, you guys come in here and wait for drinks, then we are out of what you want to eat. This meal is on the house and I want you both to order a dessert, too." We both try to tell him that we are not upset at all and are more than happy to pay for our meals. He says, "Nope. I want you to leave here happy so you will come back." We assured him we are coming back regardless but he refused us and told the waitress to comp our meals in the system. So, we left the waitress a HUGE tip and 5-star reviews for service and quality. Of course, I stopped in and ate there every time I went through Oxnard, too!
All bad
OH you aint herd? ATL has horrible food service lol
Hay Ray. Sorry for delay. I went out fishing as soon as I got the call. Bad weather day here in Newfoundland. See you at the garage.
This happened to be at bucca di beppos in chandler.
They sat us quickly, didnt get a server for maybe 30ish minutes, asked for soda told us they had no soda that day, we asked for water and iced tea. Another 30 minutes go by, nothing.
Finally got water and menus. Sat there for another 30 and left. Glad they are going out of buisness
I understand that things happen at all businesses that can not be controlled. There needs to be communication. They should have informed about the long wait for the particular item ASAP, and given the option to make another choice, choose to wait, or go elsewhere. Communicating with customers can turn forever losing a customer, into getting another chance in the future.
I have Never seen Customer Service WORSE !! Thank a Liberal !
Stick to automotive repairs, quit the random bitching and short videos
Bet they won't do this to a table of 15 blacks, that are going to dine and dash on their a++es.
So you walked out……Who gives a crap?? The fact that you sat there for 40 minutes says more about your stupidity than the poor service.
At 56 years old, I had my first restaurant walk out Saturday. IHOP. We orders 3 burger and fries plates. 1 solid ( I timed it ) hour after ordering, we got up to leave and the waitress ran up and said we had to talk to the manager before leaving. She was literally blocking our way. 30 seconds later, they came running up with 3 burger and fries plates, completely cold, burnt to a crisp and nothing on them. I said let me pay for our drinks and we will go. The manager argued that we had not been there for an hour ( don't argue with an ocd dad ) until the waitress brought the receipt to her and then, just "oh I see. Don't worry about the drinks". There were only two tables besides us in the whole place. It was a calm, but firm walkout.
Some of the people that work in these restaurant's drive slow in the fast lane while looking at their phone🙄
Horrible!
Eating at the airport is like eating at the zoo. Not a good idea! I was wondering if that airport was still there 😂
Cry harder
Went with my wife to an expensive restaurant years ago, this was a suit and tie type of place. We arrived and were the first one's seated even before the valet parking guy started. We received wine and crab cakes, hour and 20 minutes later still nothing. People already ate and left. We got up and walked to the front and tried to pay for wine and crab cakes as the place was now packed. The manager got really upset at the staff said that we didn't owe anything as a waitress then came out and said that our food order was almost ready. Left and went to a Bob Evans for breakfast dinner.
Airport restaurants don't care because they know when you leave, happy or not, another person will come off the conveyor belt to fill the seats and never see you again.
Been there before ate at a japanese place in myrtle beach in the summer time 75 min in ew just left hit up the taco bel
I don’t wait more than fifteen or twenty minutes at the most. Always tell the manager that the restaurant is a piece of shit on your way out the door.
1st world whining.
I have to think that a lot of restaurants and bars are just there to launder money. Some places you go in and its obviously a small group of regulars hanging around, the staff are usually new or unaware of their duties and no one seems all that interested in your business.
I never eat out unless absolutely necessary but if on a trip or whatever, I've found the best food and service is always found at a "greasy spoon diner", usually with a name like EAT or FOOD, seriously. Seems with chain restaurants, the bigger the city, the worse the food and service. JMO
Very entitled way of thinking, I’m glad they didn’t have to deal with your attitude guy.
Why did you wait so long before leaving?
ok karen and daren. we needed to know all this
Be patient Ray, they are still catching the fish
Bro, next time take a massive dump, use all their toilet paper and don't flush. Leave a note that says, "your tip is in the men's room.". Why you taking your old lady to a shizzzit place like that anyways. She has to smell your greasy stank ars every day, take her to an expensive place… like Applebees. That's Florida 5 star. 😇 Much love from New Port Richey
