Are you sure you were turning it the right way? There wasn’t enough rust on the exhaust to justify that much trouble

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars john walsh says:

I used to soak exhaust bolts down with GM heat valve lubricant and let it sit a few never had one that wouldn't come loose not even sure if they still make it anymore

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Estranged180 says:

The amount of time you actually spent on that stud… Man… I'd have lost my sh*t, and hit it with the biggest, hardest drill bit I could find, and it wouldn't have been attached to any drill. I'd have just thrown it at the stud, and see what happens.

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Fred Proctor says:

From a guy that's done hundreds of stud removals on exhaust manifolds, you need to heat the manifold from the inside out. The whole ear of the manifold needs to be yellow hot in order for the bolt to come out. It'll surprise you how easy they'll come out if you do that. Just saying.

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ZGDX_Smiling says:

Ray should just cut all the bolts off and use a small C-CLAMP to hold the exhaust into place for removal the next time it comes in for something. Using C-CLAMP does work because I have done it on all my vehicles.
