Thanks Ray.
Love your videos
So exactly WHEN /How did you realize the cam gear was backward ?
I would take a oversized deep socket to tap the timing gears in place…
nice work painting those parts customer will be happy 👍👍
It never ceases to amaze me how they have managed to take such simple, straightforward designs as the small block Ford and small block Chevy and completely f*** them up
I really enjoyed your enthusiasm in your job. Great job.
Always always always…..apply sealant to the washer backing on the crank pulley.
It prevents oil from migrating down the bolt and washer.
Nasty leak if you don’t.
And you know we love you brother….but did you use a torque wrench on those timing cover and crank pulley bolt ?
Torque is a big deal and nobody does it.
Beautiful….oB
a beautiful job
I like he actually cleaned parts and even painted it good shit
Would you advise added some anti-seize to the crank end before installing the pulley. For future removal ease if needed.
As a matter of interest, who paid for the broken timing cover? I’ve worked for shops where the breakage was passed on to the customer as part of the ‘risk of doing the job….similarly, I’ve worked for shops who are the loss…plus one who charged the techs for breakages.
I used to have a 95 mustang gt. I replaced just about everything on it. And I have to say Ford mustang is the worst car to work on. I now have a 07 corolla and 07 bimmer 328i E90 and they are both very easy to work on. IMO. F.O.R.D =Found On Road Dead
Nice job Ray 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏
Need Moar Giggity.
LOL! always check for serp belt diagram on hood or front cowl. Failing that, make your own. Been there, fought with those bastards.
Ray should be working teaching automotive mechanics and make the world a better place. He clearly enjoys his work and it shows. Honesty par none. I am buying something from your store for the enjoyment of watching a master craftsman showing the world how real mechanic do their jobs. Take a bow Ray !!!!!!!
Seeing that belt on the ac compressor off by one rib, is driving my OCD crazy.
WOW very interesting super kool ,1st class great info.,,, AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work.
You do excellent work Ray
Wish I lived closer to Sarasota FL so I could take my vehicles to you Ray. Sadly I live up in the Atlanta GA area. Should I ever be near Sarasota and need repairs I will be calling every shop and asking if they have a mechanic named Ray that does YouTube videos. You are one of the best.
You're definitely no painter but I bet Picasso couldn't do a timing cover so there's that! Love your channel!
Why can't you use a straw or a chopstick to measure top dead center..?
I saw where your finger blocking the whole would indicate the compression stroke… Nice…
The patience to do a job like and remember where everything goes…. Hats off to you…!!
If you ever went independent, you would have a hell of a following, and we your fans, would do whatever it takes to help make you successful…
You have a great day.
Need clear radiator hoses to watch the antifreeze…the future is coming on.
I didn't like how that serpentine belt was riding on the idler pulley. It looks like you made an adjustment to it that didn't make the video. What did the ABS scan disclose? I like the extra effort after the timing cover breakage. It's obvious you care what your customers think about you.
How do you put on the wrong part like that without checking first
So, are you trying to fool the car gods by painting ford engine parts with chevy orange? LOL, looks better than the aluminum.
Another great learning video!
How far did you go before you knew it was backwards? Did you get it all assembled?
Great in-depth videos
I cannot give you enough thumbs down on that video.. If you were a Volkswagen mechanic you would be called a hack Mister.
Did you pull out the locking pin on the adjuster? Maybe I missed it.
That car looks nice from a distance, but I did notice a lot of orange peel in the finish (I painted cars for 17 years). Although, it is Florida the Orange State! If the owner likes it, that's all that matters! With painting all those years, you just notice stuff like that. Stills looks nice though and it's a sharp looking car.
Hi Ray I really like the Chevy orange you put on the Ford ha ha
Are you familiar with the 1999 mercury villager ignition system
Stumbled across your YouTube site, absolutely love your work.
Your knowledge on the use of the scan tool amazes. me. Also your electrical knowledge is outstanding for a motor mechanic.
All those bolts have a ford torque spec!! The crank has a definite spec
Kind of wonder how that machine compares with my old '68 390 V8 fastback Mustang. I really regret selling it these days.
It's good to view a Honest mechanic!!
Nice and thight, forget about that when you have children.
Just curious if you changed the oil before you started the engine like you said you were going to??
I would apply sealant all over the timing chain gasket.
Background music is always entertaining as well.
Dude you do an awesome job! If I'm ever in Florida again I'll have to look you up
I hate the oh shit days when you get everything together and then it's oh shit I forgot this part. Lol but not lol
