I told my son when he graduate from high school he not going to be a mechanic . he either going in the service.hope USA Air force . Or be a iron work in construction he been an iron work welder for about10years now.
MR.O . you are among the best YouTuber Mechanics on this platform. Love your videos and the energy and the detail and effort you bring to them. Plus your Funny. Godbless You and your Family.
I've called Astro many times, left messaged, sent emails, etc. and they never responded. I obviously needed support and they weren't there for us. Decent light, but crappy (nonexistent) service. Of course, this is only our opinion.
Cool reviews about OEM vs some of the better names in aftermarket. Here's a good question to you. When deciding to use OEM vs aftermarket, many OEM parts are made in China, at least for domestic vehicles. So, when you look at the issue, likely all choices are going to be China parts and the OEM part is usually 3 times the cost. Would an OEM china part be a better choice?
I know when my service is due. I also bought a DVD from Ebay that is like a digital Chilton's manual. This has a section that covers the intervals for service. But I will say it is nice when you have a mechanic that is good that you can rely on that reminds you as well. I hate upselling. When I go for tires please just do the tires and don't try to convince me of other work that you feel is needed.
Hey, Eric, are you going to do more live vids while you're working? That could work for you, doing a live instructional or case study, and then editing it down later to post as a regular video if people don't want to watch the whole hour to see what you did with that vehicle.
Yes, I realize that this would make working on a customer car take a lot longer, but I think it's worth thinking about. My two cents.
Hi Eric, really enjoy your videos, I work at a GM dealership and was wondering what is your experience with "Chevy" trucks setting code P0521, valve lifter oil manifold screen, oil sending unit, oil filter, oil pump pick-up O-ring, We see this code a lot in the winter time and in most cases changing the oil and filter corrects this condition. thanks thehunterbill
I wouldn’t put them on my car or truck but last summer I had to replace the tires on my tandem axel trailer so I did some research and found that all the trailer service tires are made in China now, even Goodyear. Here’s hoping the Primewells which are allegedly made by Firestone/ Bridgestone I ended up with hold up
I think that even if you don't maintain your own car, or perform 100% of your own maintenance, you should be an informed consumer and responsible vehicle owner. I do, however, like for my trusted mechanic to remind me about upcoming work that may need to be completed.
Cabin air filter. some cars has it right some dont, like toyota. simple if that filter would be outside and air flow would go from bottom to up it would last lot longer as dust wil fall of, like in some cars it dose 😉 And yes cabin filter is one you need to know specially if you have loved ones or your self are asthmatic person! as there is cabin filters and Real cabin filters…
Missed the first part of the video…great family Eric…man they are growing up fast! The Policia in Italy drive Lambo's…pretty impressive but to chase a Lambo you need a Lambo. Got to drive Massimo's Lambo when I was in Sicily working for Lockheed and it was ridiculously fast and hugged the road and I was hitting @180 k (speed limit) and got pulled over by the Policia and about crapped my pants b/c my Italian sucks. He knew Massimo (plus license plate was Massimo#8) and called him up to verify it was not stolen and he told them who I was and it was OK. He owns half of Marsala and Cantine Pellegrino (Sell wine all over the world) and luckily loved aircraft and Lockheed. I was the manager and he simply spoiled us! Thanks for showing off the shirt & glad you're getting use out of it. My wife says that's all I wear so I put on an SMA or Wells shirt but she doesn't seem to see the humor HAHA . Great WUW as usual! Training videos from you will be good!

I recon you're right… used to think an eye for detail was just aptitude related… maybe it is taught.
Some adults I've worked/hung out with I honestly wouldn't trust to put together a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
