Do not talk to the Telegram Texting people in the comments sections of videos. They are a team of scammers and imposters. They have no real life skills are have sunken in life to a level of petty theft from their computers. These people should be ignored or trolled, do not pay them.

Ray, you’re a good man and i enjoy your content. But i feel that suggesting to an audience to have any interactions with scammers is irresponsible at best. This will do nothing about youtube’s apathy, nor will it deter scammers. The potential for some unwitting and good intentioned audience member to get themselves in a terrible situation is very real. Something needs to be done, but this isn’t the answer.
Some channels had to block emojis from comments to stop the spam.
these scammer scum bags are relentless,every video you post and others im subbed to i get these offers,,check out pierogi,,kitboga and jim browning to name just a few they are amazing,they access the scammers files even their premises and security cameras and really mess them about ,,
some of the victims they try to help and deal with are heartbreaking,,,

Viewers can click on the three dots to the right of the comment and report it as spam.
The more people that do this the quicker it will stop.
Do this each time you see these bogus messages on any video.

Use online credit card generators , the scammers will try to use the numbers.

I'll say this now those scammers are complete assholes but to be fair if you fall for something as crazy as what they're saying well you kinda deserve it. They make it so obvious it's a scam and I really have no idea how anyone believes them

When the “Sheriffs” office calls and tells me there is a warrant for my arrest and I can pay a fine over the phone. I tell them that YOU (scammer) can sent a deputy to come arrest me. I will be waiting on my front porch. I usual get the ever famous CLICK!

I've been flagging scammers here, on Craigslist, Ebay Motors, Facebook Marketplace, and elsewhere for years. They keep coming back, and always will. But the main thing is that stupidity will always exist, people will always fall for this crap no matter how obvious the scam, and as such, it will never completely go away.
These scammers are lower than pond scum and should be treated accordingly. And youtube really doesn't care. It would be really nice to be able to nuke these scammers (figuratively speaking). Not really related to youtube scammers, but check out 'Scammer Payback' and 'Jim Browning' – they're going after the scammers that are arguably worse than the youtube scammers. Educating the 'weak' or uneducated to the reality of these scams is what needs to happen to shut them down.
it is the responsibility of all of us when ee see scam comments to report them.

Some tech YouTubers like Hardware Unboxed were able to setup filters to block anything with an emoji or other graphical character and it seemed to address a lot of this BS.

Not too long ago TerminalMontage made a hilarious animation exposing this problem. Big takeaway here is that this is all across YouTube and not just here, so look out for this stuff. It will also come in different formats and simply as spam messages sometimes. Since Google can't figure it out for some reason, it's up to you to keep a watchful eye out.
I use my local sheriffs office address and number as my address and credit card number. Then I use one of the spam call numbers I get occasionally as my cell number. The thought of 2 scammers trying to out scam each other is hilarious to me.
Yeah youtube has a algorithm to show ads at us but they can't figure out how to stop this.
As far as I can tell from all the people I am subscribed to, you are the only one addressing this problem. I've had loads of these fake responses and I just report the comment.
The fact people give credit details away for free, says they deserved to get scammed. people are too gullable.

Scammers don't directly affect advertising revenue. Therefore Youtube doesn't care.
These trolls are appearing in most media…. Youtube, Facebook, Tik-tok etc. They craw out from under their rock every minute of every day with the thought that they can steal from you. It's sad but this is the state of the affairs in the interwebs. We're with you sir I do all I can to quell their efforts.
Youtube can slow this down buy prohibiting comments on new accounts for 2 weeks.
I think that by seasoned citizens you mean people older than me. I turned 71 last month. I've watched people like Jim Browning who can tap into the scammers and really wreak havoc on them. Their main victims are elderly, 80+, and they are just brutal with them. Sometimes Jim is able to get their money back for them. It's really funny when Jim and others hack into the scammers systems and start telling them where they are and their real names and such. I couldn't do anything like that, hell, I have a hard enough time pretending to be me. I could never pull off pretending to be someone else. Stay safe out there now, ya hear.

i think they instant like comments and then place theirs in response hoping to get a hit. ive been reporting them every time they comment on anything i post.

Yes, they do this on quite a few people's channels.
The trick is to take note of the phone number, website address (not normal,) etc. They're usually foreign. Probably from India, African continent, Russia , China etc. I think I had an international number sent starting with a 1. Covers a wide range of countries still.

The Telegraph bots troll every large channel … in many ways it's how you know you've made it as a channel when they target you.

I report every one of those dirt bags every time but I agree that we need to engage them at every opportunity. But, I doubt they'll "move on". Not smart enough.
Ray, I just screw them around and promise them that I’ll get them their money. I even make them set up email accounts in the hope of getting money. Just tell them that you can’t use the app they want. Then ask them to set up an account in different apps. Keep doing that till they give up. It’s hilarious what extreme they’ll go to in the hope of getting easy money.
Send them to Scammer Payback channel on YouTube. Entire team dedicated to doing this.

I report everyone I see as Impersonating the persons channel. If I've the time I'll try to occupy them. Too bad they don't have a call center. We could Call-Flood them. The more time they spend with someone cagey the less they have to damage someone.
