In this video I find out I am missing an 11mm Allen Socket that is required to replace the front brakes on this vehicle ๐ฑ. No worries though, Napa #notasponsor had one in stock ๐ -Enjoy!

I wish I would have watched you video first. the 11mm is important info. there are other clowns on her saying its a 10mm.
Thank you for the info.. and yes all of the sets skip the 11mm
No O-ring holding the rotor? Mine did.
Thanks for the video! What's that stuff you sprayed on the hub before you put the rotor on?
11 !!!! Wtf
As soon as you catch up you run out of work.
It looks like you dress customer tires when you do a brake job?
Sitting in my driveway sweating my junk off wondering what the heck! Google it….if South Main had an issue I'm in good company! How dumb Jeep!
am i like u eric i wonder wat were they thinking when they designed some of these cars
My son had the same issue with his 2015 Dodge Durango. We went all over town looking for and 11mm allen. Finally found a MAC tool man who would meet us at his home gate and sell us the socket. Not made by MAC mind you but made in China but priced like a MAC
What size rotor is that?
What rebate percent do you get back with Napa?
FYI, you need the 11mm allen key socket on the 2015-2018 Ford Edge. Like you my set had every size but the damn 11mm.
The new Subaru Ascent has 11mm pins just like that
Love your videos, Eric. Referencing this video to do my 2017 Grand Cherokee tomorrow morning. Not only did I have to order an 11mm hex socket, but the caliper bracket is a Torx E20. Had to order that one too!
Keep up the good work my man!
Terrifically helpful. No surprises in my DIY project including the 11mm allen socket. I ended up with a 7/16" instead. My Napa didn't have the 11mm.
If you think Chrysler's 11MM is annoying look at MOEN faucet systems 7/64" Allen key….savage bastards.
I've got a Napa not a sponsor up the road from me, luckily we have a solid privately-owned parts place nearby. But on occasion, I go to Napa not a sponsor instead haha!
hex bolts, hate em. – Dakota owner
Love your videos but did ya remove the rubber 0 ring on front of rotors ? Or did I miss it
dude no safety glasses? I learned to wear them the hard way
…..makes me think of the Mask " I just want an oil Change"……THEN " DIFF'S SHOT AND I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION!"…….hmm Challenger…gonna be fun finding those 2 piece rotors for the 6 piston brembos………….."Singing Mechanic"…could be a new Show..
Just as a note, you should watch what type of lube you use on caliper slides. I've had permatex (cant tell what flavor youre using) cause the rubber to swell which pretty much locks up the caliper. I only use sil glyde now which seems to work great.
Moen the faucet plumbing company uses a 7/64 wrench to detach any handle … it is maddening. But totally by design.
Fucken overhaul lmaoo
Volvo takes a 9mm. Mine went 7mm, 8mm….. 10mm. Doh! No one in 100miles had a 9mm. Not that kind of 9mm….
11 mm??? I'm wondering the differences between the adaptors for the HD vs SD calipers.
I solved the 11mm hex bit socket dilemma by cellophane taping a small piece of 22 ga. sheet metal to a 10mm hex bit.
Sort of a random and specific question, but what was the brush that you used to apply the brake grease? I didn't see them in your amazon store.
What great father and husband and mechanic.
NAPA is not a sponsor but you are a NAPA service center according to the sign on your shop?
The rear on the '14 grand Cherokee brakes is a 9mm lol
Quiet Sunday morning until I ran into my neighbor. Single parent 2 year old daughter. Tells me lost front braked on car. Took day off because afraid to drive.. Didn't need to test drive I hear metal to metal sound right front brake. Couldn't afford the repair quoted over $300. 00 for a Kia Sorento.. New Pads and rotors $160. There goes my Sunday. I had them get the parts.. Took the car to my buddies garage. Gave it the full ERIC O brake job. Cookie wheel rust off hub face.. Blasted brackets. Brake caliper grease pins moving free etc. Return car now safe to drive more important children are safe. I A,M NOT LOOKING FOR ANY AT A BOYS HERE.! Just saying if you do brakes do it the way Eric does. Clean grease as need. My payment if you are interested. Another tread in my stairway to heaven. Also a big smile and a hug from the little one/
Harbor Freight!
I bought my 11mm alian socket some time ago p# SH3811M CARLYLE might be the best made alian socket i own
That's that stuff he sprayed the hub with before putting the rotor on?
Why don't you open the bleeder screws before pressing the piston back into the caliper? Two of my mechanic friends say you should always open the bleeders before compressing the piston else you will destroy the ABS system.
Your shop says "NAPA Auto Care Center" but no sponsor? ๐
WHERE WAS THE BRAKLEEN??????????????
When does NAPA planning to sponsor you?.. those guys need to get their act together.
When a 10 is too small and a 12 is too big: 11mm
My dad from Alabama says "catywampus". ๐ I continue the tradition.
Napper ~ not a sponsor!
We as the viewing public demand more brake jobs
2002 toyota tacoma pre-runner
changed master cylinder, rear wheel brake cylinders, load sensing proportioning valve (lspv), bled brakes 4x. very low psi to rear brakes. test indicates 95% braking to front. the only thing i can think of is the rear brake hose. haven't gotten around to replace it yet because there's good flow when bleeding. any response is appreciated.
my 11mm hex got stuck in my zipper
i can sympathize…..i get a work order for say a leaking faucet and i get the" by the way i have had no hot water for 2 days" can you look at that to…annoying
We use Blue Locktite on those Caliper Bolts. It doesn't hurt.
The Master Hex Wrench set solves this problem every time. It saves us from the aggravation of not having the right tool.
