Well earlier we had a look at this "NO START / CRANKS OK" that was dropped off to us from another shop. I think they were right, this '05 Vibe has some "major issues!" Now that we have diagnosed it lets get it ripped apart!

Is the Vibe using the same engine as the 2005-2008 Corolla/matrix ? How many hours on this swap and what is the average labor cost and how much is that used engine? Thanks for the video.
Watch as we put a $1000.00 engine i a $400.00 car!
Still have my 2003 Vibe. Sounds nuts but if the engine blew I would spend the dough on a replacement
I have kean alot from your videos and i like that you work on rusty autos. I work on my cars and rust is my evil friend in canada lol
You Married good! Not only is she very pretty she is smart and handles your office and your kids while you are elbow deep fixing junk.
I had an 06 Malibu with the Ecotec junk in it, threw a rod on me on the way home from work. I limped the car 20 miles to my sisters house, I bought a used 2.2 engine for it and my sisters husband whos a Mechanic of 20 years argued with me that I can't take the engine out from the top of the car, saying that there is no way we will be able to get the car up in the air high enough to drop the sub frame to take engine out, I had the engine out within an hour and half and the used one in before he got home from work threw the top. He kept thinking I had to cut stuff to take it out. It was easy. He does stuff by the book though.
Did he forget he was working on a Pontiac? Keeps talking about Toyota.
Mickey Mouse π
Eric is there a easy way to find part 1 or part 2 of your videos? How many times I gave up trying to find part 1 or part 2 of a video. Like your work . Diagnostics are my favorites.

Debroblem is dat ik heb een nieuwe starter verplaats hij doet het 3 keer daarna is niet meer
SMA you don't use a refrigerant identifier?
My wife had a 2003 vibe. Had 280k miles still drove great! Those Toyota powertrains are pretty bulletproof. Unfortunately she was t boned. We bought a 2013 Kia Soul for 750 bucks from a friend!
I'm not fond of GM myself. It may have been because my lead foot was to blame. I've never blown a Ford engine.
Second time watching 7/17/2020
Mascot name: Dorman
I hope you know Mrs. O is a goldmine. And it should piss us ALL off that everything we buy comes from China. We can change that.
I have a 2005 Matrix with 207K miles and do a ton of my own maintenance. Videos like these are rare as hens teeth and watched with pure glee. Thanks a ton!
Even though the vibe has the same engine and transmission as the matrix it doesnβt hold up as well.
Sounds good to me
Yes I will watch a full engine replacement video. You never know what you might learn even in the slightest that you never expected.
Having travelled many times to China on business, the first thing I learned was that there are three grades of products manufactured in China. High quality products for Chinese domestic consumption. Average grade products for export. Finally, garbage quality products that are ONLY exported to the United States. The Chinese government despises everything America represents. They are not our friends. We should not be doing any business with them what-so-ever. Just my two cents. Great video Eric.
All looks good , you need to you fender covers
The last engine my uncle and I pulled out was in my 1974 Vega. It was a waste of time. Stupid aluminum cylinder sleeves. It was way, way easier….
You know you can have a local band do some music for you and you can listen to it with out getting in trouble
I know this is from 4 years ago, I subscribe but somehow I missed this series. I bought a β05 Vibe that was run very low on oil and came in for a oil/filter change. It was seized. I put a used motor in it late last summer. Never even removed the hood. Came out from the top. Easy as pie. Drove it for 4,00-5,000 mi. & the trans failed. 179,000 mi.
FOR GODS SAKE, TURN OFF THE TELEPHONE RINGER !!!
Here watching
Good day hey on the vibe engine removal,I have a 2003 toyota matrix which is the same motor. my quistion is this my car is a 5 speed so do you think i will be able to remove engine with pressure plate still on?
