In this Video I have a look at a 2007 Ford F150 5.4 that was towed in as a no start. After a quick look we discovered that the truck had no fuel pressure and a code for the "FPDM Offline." It doesn't take long with a visual inspection to find the crusty's. -Enjoy!

What vehicle is recommended for the New York salt? Hummervee?
knowledge on a common issue and a check for a blown live
thats rougher than the anode4 on my sail;boat and mine is a sacrificial block in salt water
Ain’t got no gas in it mmmmmm
Working off the floor. Welcome to my world. Man I cant wait to get a lift. " communist state" 😂😂so true!
I have a 2008 Ford f150 body and frame and almost perfect shape and it's a New York truck and if anybody's looking for a truck when I get it running again because that's why I'm watching the video it's up for grabs
Learned a lot, cheers
It would be nice if someone could come up with a relocation kit to move the fuel pump module is the inside of the cab.
02??? CHECK BATTERY IN KEY.
We salt a little in Tennessee, but pay alot less taxes.
Awesome
It's nice to only get salted a few times a year
c'mon …
too easy …
did you even have to jack the truck up?
this one truly was …
'if i can do so can you'
(maybe mrs. o could have done it)
Those modules were originally mounted directly on the frame rail with no standoffs. They would build up corrosion like it was going out of style and crack the casing right in half. The updated part comes with the standoff studs.
you saying napa or naper ?
FORD = Found On Road Dead
"We've all seen a rotted out fuel module at some point"
Sir, you grossly overestimate my knowledge of vehicles
Eric you're one awesome mechanic 😎
id like to thank the people at south main auto ,they bring it to you in a format that the regular folk can understand and at the same time is quite entertaining , allthough it wasnt what i was looking for not their fault but very cool
SHOW NO START, NO CRANK FOR 2007 F-150 LARRIAT
I’m surprised you didn’t spray that new module down with fluid film after you completed the install. It may not have stopped any corrosion of the new mod but it would have slowed it down a lot!!
if NAPA won't sponsor you ,you shouldn't mention their name. Just say you got the part from the auto part supply store. Why give them any recognition?
I just came across this video. Eric thank you so much for the beautiful work you do for us!!
In my opinion, what on earth, ford have never give a shttttt about all this people who buys they trucks.
I meant, they are other indor corners/places where parts can be installed ☺️☺️ I don't buy ford but I feel bad for the ones that do so.
Keep it up Eric! We love your work
I've run into this before. Trust stupid Ford to put electronics made of aluminum against steel underneath where salty water can ruin it.
Been there did that. Power washed the wheel wells on a 04. When spraying (while running) the truck stalled. Enough said.
Amazing automakers now make body panels that outlast frames. I guess its all show and no foundation concern.
you telling us your Nose is back to Normal???
i had an o6 f150 with 750 thousand miles on it and not a speck of rust or corrosion…….kinda hat that i traded it for my 18 f150!!
DID YA LET MRS O SMELL IT?
"Gosh dang it all to heck." As a shade tree mechanic, this terminology is foreign to me.
heyy man thanks for your video, i bought a 2019 f150 3.5 xlt wich i repairing by myself, and have the same problem, so maybe got check the fuel pump module, maybe get water, thanks
It makes me real happy to see you every time, welcoming us into your videos with a big smile Sir. You’re a one of a kind gentleman. I mean that.
very good video
Was that a hurricane Sandy truck from Long Island ny
Excellent diagnosis, perfect trouble finding skills.
I have cut a lot of spares out that were crowded up and locked up so it's nice to see it moving up and down
it is a FORD FOUND IN RIAD DEAD!! or FOUND IN RESERVATION DUMP!!!! if you are a Native American Indian.
I love you term for New York communist state , here we just simply call California we just call it commyfornia you need to develop a better name for New York that puts communist in the name .
Hello from Alberta Canada. I had this problem with my 2010 f truck in a grocery store parking lot. I was kinda freaked out at the time. Avery kind guy came along and asked if he might help he said he used to work on fords and said ckeck the fuse box ,yes the engine fuse was blown, we replaced it with a ( spare) an away we went. I thanked my savior very much as he saved me about $400. Check the fuses first.
Was the key lock in the bumper still present? When I had to get mine out (Ohio truck at 86k miles), the lock cylinder was frozen up tight, but the locking bar on the back of it was 80% gone anyway. 5 seconds with needle nose pliers and the lock assembly fell out. Now it is back in the hole, with a hose clamp wrapped around the lock body behind the bumper, so it looks like it is locked but just needs a screwdriver to remove.
plastic and pcb/ printed curcuit boards are a strange smell that stays with you all day
Good thing that was made of aluminum didn’t rust!
You have the luck of the Irish getting all of them easy peasy jobs. Sure glad I live in Florida the non comie state, however lately we have a plethora of New Yorkers floating around here. Please call em back. 😆
Hey was great job fixing the problem, I just wished that DAB of antiseeze on new tiny bolt would been easy take out for next time. I know time the essence on repairs in garage. Your videos are awesome.
Eric myfriend i just ordered sweatshirt from you can you do me favor sign it for and your beautiful mrs .o please buddy thank you myfriend
It's really sad that automotive engineers put electronic modules, fuse boxes and connectors in places that are exposed to water, salt, mud, etc. Then they don't even protect them by sealing them properly either. Inexcusable in my opinion. 🙁 PPE ( a 3 letter acromion you can figure out)
Older f-150 that won't start in Upstate NY. A glance at the fuel pump driver module is usually all you need LOL
EDIT: thanks for the explanation on why that doesn't work every time.
There is a tsb about the disimilar metals on the fuel pump driver
