The last and final part of fixing the Dodge Charger that came in with the wheel speed sensor problems. In the previous video https://youtu.be/VGGpLzjZLcY we knocked out the front axle without a hitch and now it is time to move onto the rear axles. Hear goes nothing. -Enjoy!

And so it goes, if the rust don't get ya, the parts guy will….. The satisfaction is in the finished part of the Job๐
Mr O you are a star rescuing a lady in distress. The rust Gods were looking down favourably on you today even if NAPA (Not A Sponsor) wasn't. You are a good man Mr O, a good man. I hope this lady returns the favour by spreading the word of your exploits and becomes a return customer. I hope she was suitably grateful for your kind offer to fix and not fleece like so many other shops would have.
You're the best Eric.
You must watch Fan Rats
Eric, I sincerely hope you will seriously consider moving to AZ (the Phoenix area, to be specific)…you can charge at least $120 an hour, and good, reliable, honest mechanics are at a scarcity here. BONUS: you won't have to deal with all that rust and corrosion. Come on DOWN!!!
Burned your biscuits? I have never heard that one, in all my years as a mechanic! Good one! I'll have to remember that one!
Lots of love from Ethiopia.
Really enjoy your vids Keep up the good work ๐
Glad I sold my 07 and upgraded to a '15. Love it. Eric u are a patient man.
Another excellent video. I'd bet you that the car spent it's life parked on the street, with how crusty the left side is.
โโโโโโeric… where did you get your exhaust flaring tool.. didnt see it on your amazon store.?!?! thanks!!๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
Sorry Dodge got ya Eric.. true professional, you didn't milk the customer for a mistake. Trust me, it all comes back around someday. All mechanics should learn from your example, even the 'parts changer's only' out there.
Sounded like you were spring loaded to the passed off position. Know how you feel we've all been there.
Awesome Job. sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do.. There's always Tomorrow. ๐
Wish I had a dollar for every wrong part I got from the parts store,I could retire!!!!!
We live in Fl..did a gear swap front and rear on my sons 05 gmc 4×4โฆbought a parts truck a guy had from Maine,01 Silveradoโฆthere isnโt much really left of the underside..
We swapped the rear and front diffโs..I didnโt change the rear axle seals..til the first time we test drove itโฆ๐..they were GONEโฆ๐ฌ
Keep up with the great job
Just a suggestion on the exhaust You could always make a slice in a nice straight section and put a band clamp on
Hard to believe a (so called ) repair shop could not diagnose a bad sensor ring. Probably why they charge 40 bucks to repair a tire that is only flat on the bottom.
Great work.
Whos fault was it really your for not making sure which one you had the right axel .
What a nice clear shot of the rear of that Dodge Charger. One reason why I never miss a year applying krown rust control. Great video Eric. ๐๐จ๐ฆ
You are so good. And also a good person
I like watching your videos
๐
Nice ! Wish I lived near you I'd take my car to ya all the time.
"Yeah, I could do that in the driveway with hand tools"…LOL!
Only comment or criticism I can come up with is youโve got the best YouTube channel out there for an aspiring rust belt mechanic lmao.
Man., I feel for you. I have an 87 pickup with a 1/4 of the rust that thing has on it.
A tip for driving in seals. Fill the cavity around the tension spring with heavy grease. I've had the stupid spring jump off pounding the seal in, then you pull it all out again and get another seal. Wrong parts really burn me up too as I'm 3/4 hour away from the parts store. I phone in with the part numbers after I look them up and if the part is wrong it's because of me (unless you get a part that was boxed wrong)
Thats the first time I have ever seen that. Sucks to do the job twice Good job
Helluva job , love the work ethic
As Dad used to say, "It builds character"
See that! you whisper sweet nothings and it popped right of!
Great job for the customer and you are well above the average mechanic in your desire to keep the customer on the road and safe. So sorry that you had to do the rear twice. But that's what you get when the other fools screw up and you require perfection. You are the man!
Fixing a car is like having sex, 2 times repeat is so much more fun
Youโre a good man Dr O. You donโt need to be a religious person, but Iโm a firm believer if you put good out into the world it eventually comes back to you. Thanks for another great video and being a great teacher.
wizardry and sorcery …. when you bang on things they fall together into one smoothly running oiled machine….when i bang on things they fall apart into 20 useless pieces
Poor ol rust bucket. As much as these vehicles cost to bad they rust so quick.
How much
I'm impressed ๐
Did she park it in water?
I'm just 5 hours North of you and we use alot of salt but that was bad.
A great watch. You went above and beyond the call of duty. Wish there were mechanics like you in Sarasota.
As an ex mechanic I can truly sympathize, parts places can really mess you right up
If she was smart she would dump it and get a decent ride definitely not another Dodge. That's just me.
โWe do it nice, because we do it twice! โ that made me laugh until I remembered how many times I have had to do it twice because of wrong or defective parts! Great video!
These cars drive next to us on the interstates fellers. Scary.
Eric, Iโve been following you for several months now. I appreciate your thoroughness and your teaching.
One thing for sure Iโm glad the cars i work on arenโt as rusty or as rotten as the cars in western New York.
โWe do it nice, because we do it twice!โ Lol.
Use big nasty.
