In this video I show you the process I use to replace a front lower ball joint on a 2002 Honda Odyssey. Pretty easy task assuming you all ready have a ball joint press. -Enjoy!

Me before: oh, a how-to video, maybe I can do this at home.
Me after: nahhhhhhhhh
Q modelo es la odyssey
Hehe! Love it
The script on the box actually translates to "Ball Joint"… I cheated & used Google Translate.
My shop told me I have to change the whole control arm, rather than just the ball joint. I have 2013 Odyssey EXL, anyone have insight?
Are the new Odysseys able to accept the 555 ball joints, or do you HAVE to buy the entire control arm???
It'd be really cool if, just before you start these, you show how to tell that the ball joint is bad.
So, ah, the factory ball joint did not have a snap ring; or did y'all just skip that step?
I'm confused.
The bottom of that spindle may not be cracked but it sure as hell looks like it.
Thank you for showing me this! helps alot ๐
Love this guy fun to watch
Is it true, this job can not be performed on a 2011 Odyssey?
The last Honda Odyssey I had my dad and I built. It was a 78 off-road buggy with a wicked fast 250cc, low air pressure rear suspension and the poorest excuse for coil overs in the front. But man did it fly (landings were atrocious) ๐๐๐
The arm looks cracked
Gravy video of a gravy ball joint. Gotta love the gravy, keeps the lites on and the mrs happy…
Allot of DIY are going the route of the full control arm, instead of pressing in and out a ball joint. As you may know, I'm not a fan of Napa parts. Over the years though, there quality of parts and service has dropped. I never really had any love for O'Reilly's because when they came in they took over smaller auto parts stores in town that I liked and completely destroyed them. However regardless of where you go we will find Dorman and Moog parts, even in the dealerships.
wow, that's a nice looking ring on your finger. really nice design. my girl friend is hoping I give her a ring just like that. LOL
Japanese letters read Boru Jointo.
Eric, I didn't see a grease fitting on that ball joint. For permanently sealed ball joints, have you ever tried using a grease injector needle to get grease into the boot, then seal it with RTV or liquid electrical tape?
what is part Number? 555 ? thanks
Great video. Got into my project to find out that my ball joint is built into my control arm. It can't press out. LOL! Just ordered new arms. Keep up the good vids
I have that Astro ball joint set…as long as you lube the threads it works great. Never understood why some people give it bad reviews.
What symptoms lead you to doing this video?
Has anyone attemp to do it this fantastic way using floor jacks? Clearance issues?
I always watch and wait for you to drop a tool. I don't think I found one yet thank you for the videos
you forgot to grease the ball joint !
I agree Eric The Mevoteck Parts are great quality parts @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
I agree napa chassis parts have gone down hill they suck i agree ncp line just junk different boots or threads or they never fit @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
Good Work Eric O @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
That knuckle looks cracked in the video.
I do not have an O'Reilly's auto parts near me here in P.G County Maryland, But I am a vary good Technician on cars and trucks. I bought my self a nice ball joint tool. used it two times. better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it. I have learned a lot off of you by fixing and repairing cars and truck. you are just one of a hand full of vary good auto shop. keep up the good work. and yea watch your fingers / digits do not pull back a short nub! well that your comment and concern, I do not have any criticisms at this time. . .
I also have a Honda car, your explanation was helpful. Thanks.๐๐ป
May God's grace and blessing always be with you and your family .. โ๏ธ๐ถ
I'm a Korean praise minister, so I hope you come to my channel ๐
Do these 555 ball joints have a zerk fitting for grease?
Is Josh done with the tires yet? He's a little slow. great vid , to the point with no BS.

so that control arm tool did you buy it or make it? and if you bought it could you put a link to it, I'm 16 and I work in a shop at my college and we have been looking for a tool like this forever and haven't anything.
I've changed left & right cv axels but now there's a clucking noise. Every thing is tight and torqued. I sounds like a a ball joint. Is it possible to damage the ball joint?
You can tell he's good by his bare hands.
Chinese. Japanese. Quality big difference.
A comedy routine with a ball joint replacement. How much better can it get?
At 6 minutes it looks like the hub where the ball joint goes through has a bit crack in it?
That's the least rusty vehicle I've seen in your shop. Ever.
