In this video I bring you through the process I use to diagnose a Mustang that was towed in from another shop because it will no crank over. It seems there was a little more to the story as we find out in the end. -Enjoy!

Excellent.
3 timing chain rear chain sucks
Your diagnostic skills never cease to impress me.
Kept thinkin u were doin a/c ๐ฅถ ๐
Thank you.
You da man
Well diagnosed a great job fone
Nice work but hopefully the shaft is always erect ๐คฃ
This has to suck making a video and dealing with the problems are car will give you at the same time. Then editing that can't b easy
First video iv seen here, learned alot man subscribe to hope to learn more. Wish I had the money to buy them tools tho lol
Awesome demo sir. I have roughly the same problem on my jeep. Still workin on itโฆโฆ
My thoughts. Bad ground was problem. Someone over extended the switch trying to start it. Great job .
Autel is the new leader but man when that thing slows down.
Didnโt know Hoo Hooโs had children
Reminds me of a day at the Ford garage, except for the main ground.
I would have expected a ground strap on passenger side, rear of cylinder head and battery location to be RF.
That was then.
How about fixing the switch like a trooper?
That's old time Ford mechanic stuff right there.
Hope you don't have to go to the chiropractor now, like I always did.
I noticed Mrs O was helpful and nice. As always.
There wasn't anyone putting a guilt trip on the mechanic, and you probably get paid.
Hooray for Eric O and another success, some very helpful tools and neat gadgets that simplify, and no injuries, I like how the car didn't run through your toolbox. That was great.
But you KNOW the guy who hung the starter got paid, and he was responsible for verifying the ground first.
He needs to see your video.
Any mechanic would if he wasn't a Ford technician already, and didn't have a Ford EVTM or manuals on computer.
What's wrong with adding a 2nd. ground strap to the engine block in a location that is more accessible? Nothing. Nice work!
Since that ground is in a terrible place , I would pop it off and pull it up sand it then go back with dielectric grease an a star washer under it . Should outlast the car in rust belt .
Those switches are self adjusting. In testing someone push it in to far. I have done this myself in the past, you have done that in the past replacing one. Winner winner chicken dinner.
Ruth Row Raggie buttons pushed to Far!!!; )
Very good diagnostic
Is there a large block underneath the pedal thatโs keeping it from depressing the switch all the way? That pad looks goofy.
To Mrs. O from Mr. O, you just have to wiggle the hole once in a while…
Thank you for the video and going in detail
What was that green adapter you started the car with in the relay slot?
Genius
Thanks!
And this car came to you from another shop ??
Unbelievable. I have USAA INSURANCE . WITH TOWING. I'm in Boise, Idaho. I wonder if they would TOW your shop. ?
Great diagnosis and fix!
When subject of a rubber spacer between the clutch and switch came up it reminded me of a problem my 2015 Mustang had. The brake lights came on and wouldn't turn off, plus the car was running REALLY strangely and was pretty much undriveable. Turns out there was a plastic spacer between the brake pedal and the brake light switch that had broken up.
It's a real PITA to get to, and not an easy part to replace, but it was just about a quarter inch think spacer… I got a really strong disk magnet, stuck it to the brake pedal arm so it would be between the arm and the switch and… problem solved!
I agree with airman
I was thinking pretty much immediately that the clutch pedal essentially sending a "reversed" signal" is why the car was not wanting to engage the starter! I love this channel.
The mechanic messiah
Thanks for sharing your knowledge ๐ฆ๐
Should just have to pull on it and it pulls out
Mr O I have to say, when it comes to anything with electronic issues. You are the man, beyond a Shadow of Doubt.
I love the fact that some of the scan tools run off of some sorta version of Android
Well Done!
Eric great job like i think it's time for ice mrs o said she going pay godbless and staysafe buddy
Great catch your the man
All I got to say is thank God for YouTube videos ๐ค๐คช๐คช๐คช
Great job
Facebook is strange Iโm friends with you but donโt get to see you on it that sucks
I just got done replacing the head gaskets and after putting eveything back together it turns over but doesnโt crank. Do you know the problem?
nice work mate, like how you just cut to the chase.
GREAT JOB!!๐
Nice find!
I got my car back after a transmission rebuild and immediately had the same problems. I'm sure things are a little different cuz my mustang is a 94 get 5.0 automatic but this video definitely will help in diagnosing my problem or at least aliminate my starter as the problem. Great video. Thank you.
Why wouldn't you put the year of the car in the title to save viewers time???
Not to be a dick( a ) but you're way better than Eric the Car Guy๐๐๐๐
Very good thanks ๐
