You would think they would have much better connectors to deal with the environment they have to deal with.

Does this work with the old GM vrs abs sensor signal? I didn't see a sine wave option on the autel drop down menu.

I have been looking at this same scanner for my home shop… The signal generator is a nice feature, but its only in the fine print that you need ANOTHER scanner to read the signal is not very fun… Seems like they should work on an update to the software that would allow you to generate, and read at the same time, with the same tool.
Yes signal generators have been around for many many years for RF and audio what you could have done after you isolated the connector you could have gone from the place that you pierced to the connector ends to measure continuity to make sure which looks like it is the problem

Bitching??? We don't need no stinking bitching 🙂 Good video. Where can I buy those wire piercing clamp on probes? For what it's worth, wish I could get free stuff from Autel 🙂 I just upgraded from the MK 808 (good scanner but zero bidirectional control) to the MS 906BT…….yeah!
I think If you saved a few of the hundreds of bad GM hub assemblies where the sensors are still functional, you could just use one of them as a signal generator and save a few Hertz on the ole pocketbook :-))

One more thing….a signal generator would be great for teaching modeling mathematical functions. As I mentioned below, I teach math. You discuss the science of electrical current, potential, and resistance, and the measurement units that go with them. You talk about pressure, transducers, and signal generation from many devices. I love these videos because you teach problem solving, logic, and reasoning skills, and above all perseverance. So many students I teach suffer from lack of these basic things. It's hard to teach it, and you do a super job. Keep up the good work. Stop by for a beer if you're ever in Johnston County, North Carolina. Our cars are really clean. No rust.
I'm always confused by the concern about negative comments. I usually look down through a dozen or two of the comments and never see anything remotely negative. I think these videos are amazing. I'm a public school math teacher (and not bad at it) and you are an amazing teacher. If I didn't know better I'd swear you were a Navy veteran. Like me.
You can split screen the Ultra so no need for two scan tools 👍

Good video. I believe I saw where you can do a split screen on the Ultra to show your wave generator and your data side by side.
Pico and hantek have signal generators, I've always thought they were only for dialing in probes, atleast that's what one of the hantek manuals say. But I've always thought of injecting a signal to diagnose, just to nervous to do it, seeing you do it first helps much. Thanks 👍

There is some talk in my area about the Launch X 431 V Pro. I am curious if anyone has had any personal experience if this tool can compete with Snap On Altec or Matco Professional Features; i.e wiring diagrams and troubleshooting features. Mrs. O opinion will trump all other comments

Is there any reason you didn't use the split screen function with the ultra. In stead of two scanners? I'm trying to learn to use this tool.
What a fantastic piece of kit… sadly, it's way out of my income bracket. In this example, you'd still need the experience to know about those ABS connectors being junk to use the equipment effectively. Those wire-crimping gadgets look pretty cool too.

Interesting the amount of rust on the undercarriage. I live in Canada and I oil spray the car every 2 years and after 11 years the car still looks good. It sucks to work underneath the car but there is no rust at all,

It's funny to see how quickly the comments will start to shit on you for using expensive test equipment. I stated in the video directly that this equipment was out of reach for some folks but there were many ways to do this job. It is directed for shops who already have or might have these tools however do not use them to their potential. Everyone one that is bitching have the same opportunity I had or have. I started this business 16 years ago. I got married, bought a business and started a family. I started with the money I had saved from working, I lived in a single wide trailer, I drove shitty cars and Mrs.O. worked two jobs while I worked day and night for 7 years straight. No vacation, and no honey moon, no health insurance, no government assistance, nothing. If you think I was fed with a silver spoon and sit here blowing people for their free tools you got it wrong. Do I get free tools? You bet. I do, Danner does, ETCG does, Kilmer does, we all do. It's called marketing. Do they pay me to tell you they are good? Nope. I worked my ass off to get where I'm at. If you have an issue with it and want to discuss it like a man, stop by the shop.
