Last but not least I need to finish this 2014 Subaru Outback and get it back to my customer. In this video you get to come along as I replace the left rear wheel bearing. -Enjoy!

Great video! Thanks for sharing
My ears are RINGING and I'm not in the same room, lol… Thanks for the video, I'm paying a buddy to do this job on my 08 now! Cheers!
European cars are hard to work on mostly because it takes special tools tomorrow on them.
Don't blame you for the Audi/VW decision….I did the same thing here.
Anything 3M Green Corps is badASS! The super thin cut off wheels are so aggressive. My last employer bought them by the case. And yes they are crazy expensive…luckily tax payer dollars were used in this case. lol
Whatever it is, Erik, that you choose to do when you retire…. you have earned it!
Must be perrty nice have a wife like yours that put ups with you lol I still enjoy your videos
There is a car wash next door. Can't the owner of the car wash the undercarriage to stop Eric from breathing all the crud.
Dude if I dropped anything larger than a lug nut on the floor my boss goes ๐ฅ we usually play dialing air hammers with the Subaru bearings.
Get out the Binford!
Thanks so much! I enjoyed your video!!
Wish they had them like that for the Baja. Rear bearing bolts in like that but nobody offers it as a complete assembly except for the cheap Chinese ones
Eric, do you suggest replacing the hub mounting bolts on the vehicles that have a torque to yield spec?
Funny dude. Sweet wife. Good show. Thanks
hey! great videos!! What did you spray after you cleaned up the parts with the sanding disc and brake clean? Some sort of rust inhibitor? What is it called? Thanks!!!
Eurotrash ๐ yep Iโve worked on VWs and they use every available type of head on every bolt and some of them are made from cheese and some are made from softer stuff, kind of made my diapers damp after snapping a few of them off and wish the nurse wouldโve stopped me before i started work on them.
Hi Eric, enjoyed your video adn like your work. Loved the way you cleaned all the parts before installing the new bearing. Seems to me that while you have the hub apart ti would be easy to put on new brake pads.
Wow I get to do all 4 2 front struts 2 ball joints and new brakes all around and alignment going to suck if bolts are seized
When using a power tool you should be wearing eye protection.
I came back to watch this one again, after falling down the rabbit hole regarding the older style pressed in bearings. These are so much easier, faster, better. Who still uses pressed in bearings, aside from trailers? Even so, lots of old vehicles still on the road.
Hey, fun fact I have the same French press as you. Sadly that's the only thing I have in common with you.
I enjoy watching your videos
thanks Eric…Subaru dealer replaced both rear wheel bearings as part of an overhaul…(brakes/valve body)..growling noise from rear axle…right was bad but recommended both to be replaced)…Bob from NJ
Eric: "The bad news is… I didn't get the pump exploding on camera".
Us: DAMN IT!!!
If you work for NAPA, get Eric a sponsorship…
I'm surprised you don't get more VW/Audi calls. Even with a small number owned in the close area, my experience is that they're so problematic they make up over their fair proportion of work. I was even silly enough to buy a VAG car for my Mrs. That was a mistake… Should've followed your example and bought her a Kia…
I have a 2006 outback it keeps blowing door lock fuse do you have a vid of you finding and fixing it ?
I love that when you go to "Big Nasty" on Amazon, that the "manufacturer" video is Mr O abusing a ball joint.
Love watching your videos Eric here in the U.K. during lockdown… What music is playing during big nasty gently removing the rear wheel bearing ?
With all that air hammering, I'm waiting fir the caliper to fall and swing on the hose.
Your Big Nasty sequence had me cracking up this time. Makes we want to go out and buy a bigger compressor right freaking now.
Really great series of videos enjoyed myself thoroughly and by the way great works job well done sir
I've commented before about this, but I've always been taught and practiced replacing both sides of bearing if I am doing a bearing. Why dont you suggest that to customers? Or on your own builds?
Sneezing like that will clear out a building right now Eric lol
wos still called outbacks in the good old usa! over here in Oz same name, just no rust ๐ great series Mr O
25 years in the future a local news broadcast has a story about a retired man seen in the woods, hunting deer, wearing diapers.
Subaru torque specs 177 ft lbs, Eric O used VW torque specs…gootinโtighten.
Easy peesey he said, he means, with the โhelpโ of BIG NASTY….
And, when youโre retired in the old folkโs home, you can regale the other codgers with allll of those โback in my day sonny, we has actual internal (infernal) combustion type enginesโ๐ค……..and, โdid I ever tell u about the timeโ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ………..
Nice!!
Love watching you work and explaining how to do things.. good job ๐๐ผ..!!!
Great subi series Eric O @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
Always wondered why you never by your brake clean in larger containers and use a pump sprayer
Subie subie dooooo! ๐
You have your own fan base on amazon and Big Nasty
Cleaning knuckles
I will send u part number on what I use for cleaning hubs and baking plates while doing bearings
Extreme Long range shooting mark and Sam after work is the deal check it out.
Great series for Subaru owners, thank you!
I can't believe we missed the part where bigfoot when by in a VW bus. How many miles before the rear bearing went out ? Would it be good to replace both at once, or just try your luck on the other side ?
