In this video I have a look at a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic 1.4l Turbo. It came in with a DTC P00C7-00: "Inlet Air Pressure Measurement System - Multiple Sensors Not Plausible." Having never dealt with this code in the past I looked at service info and think I found the root cause of the code. Let's find out. -Enjoy!

How long is a drive cycle usually?
Why are you using the computer instead of the scan tools?
LOL, doesn't help to hide the screen while entering your "secret code" if you whisper it while you type….ROTFLMAO
In a few years I'll buy one for a few hundred bucks, strip it so its light as possible and turn it into an ice racer
Great video Mr owe. Enjoyed every minute of it
Why do people buy these ( rolling piles of junk) not my words, you are warned not to buy them but out they go like little sheep and buy trouble
"Multiple Sensors Not Plausible". The Sonic was challenging reality!
1.4L turbo, replacing the valve cover to fix the crankcase breather that is squeaking a vacuum leak past the rear main seal, those super quality (problematic) Bosch combination IAT/Abs. pressure sensors…feels like working on a BMW or VW again. Then again, most domestic brands are basically building their cars exactly like the Germans now, right down to the Torx fasteners.
Would it not be an idea to first clean the whole intake system before fitting all new sensors before another blast of oil hits them in there Eric??
Typical low quality GM junk. 5 YO car with a host of failed parts.
Best intro ever! SHIVROOLAYYYYY!! Sonic! its got the BIG 1-4… TURBO!… LLLLUV engine ๐
Try OBS to record your screen. Good video!
Rolling coal Mr O, Rolling coal…
Eric, is that a laptop based obd2 tool??
I didnt know Edge browser would work with GDS GDI
I have a 2014 cruze with the 1.4l turbo manual. Under load ( going up an on ramp ) it feels like the boost isnt stable, fluctuates from 23psi to 10 psi ( No gauge for real numbers just by feel) I replaced the turbo w/ built in wastegate. ( Direct O.E.M at chevy dealer) still have the problem. Maybe plastic B.O.V.???
edit – No codes present
All cars today are throwaway cars 90โs cars were built to last even Toyota and Honda quality has gone down its all about the corps maximizing profit nowadays. so they can sell you another new car in a few years
I donโt know much about electronics,,,,,,,but mechanically efficient I am…. I must say though you have given me a lot of insight to the electronic side. Sparking my interest seriously. Thanks for all the information you present,,,Iโm actually getting interested in it all,,,slowly understanding the whole thing. The more I watch the more I learn. (Brain food),,,,,,, thanks again,,,youโre the greatest. Jim
FYI those numbers are absolute pressure, not gauge pressure. If it were gauge it would read 0psi in the "open".

Good call moving that bit set out of the engine compartment. Great video; thanx.
Screencast o matic. Great low cost screen capture software
In my day, we called it dusting the carbon off of the pistons. These days, kids just say "send it".
For ignoramuses like me, please explain things like what is MAP. To me it's from Esso or Rand McNally, if you know what I mean.
Give it the "classic reach around"!ย LOLย Love it.ย Put it on the floor so when you kick it, you only have to pick it up off the floor.ย Mr. O, your roads are almost as bad as those in south Louisiana.
My grandfather used to say: "pour the coals to her" – my dad would say: kick it in the a$$ – I liked to say back in the 70':s "dump the secondaries" – now we gotta say: "give her boost" I guess. Somehow doesn't seem so poetic. Ahhh…to each generation their automative idioms.
not good seeing so much oil in the intake… wonder if there is a source other than the repaired PCV? You didn't mention it burning oil, so maybe not a blown seal in the turbo?
I use to travel on business to Albany. If I knew about your channel back then, I would have drove over to meet you. I also travelled to Hamilton, Mississauga and Toronto.
My accord 1.5T has some good kick to it way more than a shivvy
Scotty Kilmer called he wants his "ring that bell" slogan back.
My head hurts after all those maths.
Is it just me, or is it time for a Big Nasty appearance?
hey eric did you get a verify channel cancellation or something on that order…I heard a lot of people are getting this. just wondering.Wont take effect until; oct. 19
hey eric did you get a message from youtube saying something about the channel may be shut down
"Rippin' on a big pull" in that fire breathing, tire shredding 1.4 forced induction monster.
Nice repair & a good call.Keep up the good work
I think the youngins call it turning on the hairdryer now.
These sonics and cruz's are the biggest pile of turds on the road. GM really screwed the owners of these cars. From a Shop owner, I like it, but I have heart and feel bad for the customers who own them.
Could you have cleaned the sensor?
Eric, what online service do you use for wiring diagrams? And trying to track down an intermittent abs comms problem on my 13 Dodge Avenger.
Love your videos!
I just did one of these on a Cruze 2 weeks ago. It had a big leak in the intercooler.
use OBS for screen recorder its free and open source
Bad turbo oil seal will blow motor oil into the intercooler. Obviously the case here. New sensor will have a short life, unfortunately.
They ought to have sensors to let you know when a sensor is going bad.
Eric whatโs your favorite beer go
I wouldnโt buy any of the new cars with eco- boost or turbo charged engines. Theyโre all junk in my opinion. Most of the direct injected turbos coke the valves up. The EGR malfunctions in some and they all seem to fill up with water, exhaust, and oil that turns to sludge. People have had to drill holes in their intercoolers in some and replace the EGR plenum in others. It doesnโt surprise me that sensor got gummed up. Iโll stick with a naturally aspirated engine. Nice work Eric
I guess you can say the "Sonic" was a bit too quiet in limp mode.
