Someone once put 3 or more gallons of a liquid in my Corvette gas tank. When pumping it out it resembled milk.
Dang man, I'm just an amateur home mechanic and even I know you first gotta check for fuel, air and spark! Is it incompetence, laziness, or just greed with that other shop? Funny story though!

Wish I would have recorded pulling out the BURNT straw (wheat not mcdonalds) ends that were in the gas tank of my newly purchased Lincoln Navigator. Someone was trying to kill themselves in the process of being a nozzle.

Question: 2002 Buick PA. The AC compressor runs even when set to heat. It will cut off if I turn it off at control unit. The AC compressor , low pressure switch, and control unit, all have been changed. The circuit has been diagnosed and all fuse boxes all the way to the climate control unit. Is the problem the ECM or what else could it be the in cabin temperature sensor cause the AC compressor to not cut off? Up in arms! Or is the compressor always suppose to stay running? The AC compressor also had a mind of its own. It will cut off and come on for days in the heat of the summer, and the it will come on and stay on…
Just had a mis-fueled Sprinter, customer was not exactly upfront. Was doing all these goofy tests, then the lightbulb went off and I was like…EUREKA!!!

I hate it when technicians throw parts at a problem and don't diagnose it properly. Thankfully I do my own diagnosing. I am like you. Prove the fault before doing anything. I don't have the equipment you do but there is more than one way to skin a cat.

from another shop…… yup know these ones tooo, they're nice, especialy when the shop owner brings the car after hours and hours of work and sees you leak out this stuff right after code reading (no codes). Fueltype/quality and fuel pressure are easy and fast diagnostics I like to throw at no start no code problems.
Dang. Lots of cars made in the last 15-20 years don't have fuel filters now. It's a cost cutting measure by manufacturers.
That would darn near, if not completely, total a 10 year old vehicle if you were paying someone else to work on it.
I added the 2002 Silverado inline filter to my 2005. Ya never know what might happen nowadays.

My old diesel lump runs on mud ๐ until the water separating filter fills up. I run it on anything i can find that burns and is a liquid, and isn't illegal to burn in a car.

i had a car a few weeks ago. Died while driving had spark had injector pulse had fuel pressure. When i removed the fuel pressure gauge i could smell it Diesel. They had pumped diesel into their car

What do the customers say when they pick up their car after the other shop tells them they need a ECM, after they already replaced parts, and you find just bad fuel? I hope the other shop refunded their money.
I know this is a older video but I did have this happen to me and a few friends in town at the same time. Eventually it was traced back to a local gas station we all went to. They had a crack in the top of a underground tank. After a extra heavy rain that spring muddy water washed into the tank and got high enough in the bottom that they started pumping it into cars.
I find it a just odd that brand name dealership can't fix problems and they have all the greatest and latest equipment, but SMA fixes all!!!

Wow, sometimes it's the simplest of problems.
It's not unheard of for small independent gas stations to suffer from poor tank conditions where rainwater can get into them. he might have got this just filling up at the wrong place at the wrong time.
