In a previous video https://youtu.be/3Vfd5hmvIWw I had a look at a Scion Tc that had codes for the right rear speed sensor although it appeared to work fine. I was able to clear the code using a manual reset and ship it down the road. Wellllll.... IT'S BACK! -Enjoy!

I LOVE watching Eric diagnose these electrical issues. Its just glorious. As well as educational. I dont know many mechanics who know how to do successfully diagnose these kind of issues.
Eric, I know this is an older video, do all of your customers watch your videos and see how in-depth you go to fix their car and why it costs x amount?? Oh by the way awesome video on how to track down the culprit!! From Michigan RUST BELT!!
Talk about satisfaction!! 😆 huge "attaboy" earned here!
Vinny’s back!
Doesn't that Autel have a wave generator?
Never back down…your awesome.
S o yell at ya fer not eatin
That one was a stinker, great job, super show and big thank you. Hi to Mrs. O.
Love the part being busted by son
Great diag, great vide. I like your vides.
Mrs. O: " It does seem like you're kinda fumbling more than normal"
A prophet is not without honor except in his own house.
I wish we had junk yards here where you can pull your own parts. We used to have 3, but are down to one. Can't pull your own parts there.
"We only had 3 channels."
Me too Mrs. O….me too.
Lol I feel for ya I've actually done that myself a couple.times and on the same vehicle had 2 bad connections on 2 different lines 1 front 1 rear on opposite corners
All that for an ice cream 🤣 but you deserve it.
Eric you helped me fix my 01 silverado lost all power no start completely blacked out I don't have any scan tools, before the truck gave up the abs and security light was flashing for several years the some fix was replace the ignition key cylinder the battery was showed 12.70 v had to jump it to start so we bought a new battery and all is working very well thank you Eric !!
ill admit, im still a bit of a gear head, but all these modules are a mind grain make for me
At the end, you mentioned having an "Arnold Palmer." A guy from our church drinks those, and I had never heard of them until we all went to lunch together a few weeks ago. I guess at 61 years old, I still have things to learn.
call the blue smoke police, that car is in violation of ohm's law…
Be thankful you are still skinny enough to get under the car.
Eric , explain to me why new cars need to have so damn many computers , sensors , modules compared to an older car . WHY ? WHY ? WHY ?!!!!!
I guess the learning process never stops, you’re still light years ahead of most !
I’ve never known abs codes to be clear-able. I thought they all auto cleared.
Haha the joke. Is driving me nuts 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
These troubleshooting episodes and root cause reveals are amazing! Much better than anything I’ve ever seen on the “real” car repair shows on cable TV.
How do you charge for junkyard runs? Does the customer pay shop rate, or do you write it off as YT time or just plain good customer relations? Seems a lot of times it would be cost prohibitive, like here, even if you charge $25 or $50 for the cable, it's doubtful it pays your full time. – Funny you started discussing the subject just as I typed this. As you said as long as the customer is good with it, the time saved from a 2nd disassembly/service appt and the high price of dealer parts could well make it the best move, even if it cost $125 for the cable, it works out in the end. (I used to call it "the cost of doing business" back when I was running an Industrial Service company)
Too bad you can't get a couple of local shop class kids to pull parts for you, maybe give them a list of hot movers and pay them a fair markup. You get a box of parts at a fraction of the cost of getting them yourself. Then pay a premium for specific retrievals. Probably end up being one more PIA in your day, but may be worth it, just thinking out loud.
Keep up the great work, It's appreciated here, I put you on auto play and get to see all the older stuff. You do a great job putting together these videos.
All the best to all the SMA team!
Amazed to see that many Chrysler and GM products just on one Junkyard… Great video.
Never skip lunch Eric, nothing more important then your health and family time.
I know this is late, but when using Techstream at least (Toyotas Diag tool) theres freeze frame data that is available to you and shows everything in data when that code was thrown. Might have seen a wonky speed in that frame or something else. Plus with toyota tehre is a feature to make everything more sensitive to throw codes. Test sensitivity i think its called.. Again, not sure if this is available with snap on or Autel
Always like your tech work so many shops do the parts cannon or don't know or want to look for wire breaks.
May you and family have a good day
tough to find, good video
Second time watching 91/2020
Hey Eric if you seen what I seen ? Doing your road trip. play and pause video a few times . You will see that the speed does not match up the hole time you are driven the car. Just thought you should know. Keep the videos coming. 😎😎😎
This was an impressive find. I wish I knew more about how to test resistance and use the probes. I'm not a mechanic, but would like to trace problems down on my own car, especially my turd Chevy Cruze
That's a shielded wire right? That's a "high resistance" short between the signal wires and the shield. My best guess. 🙂 Great video. I LOVE trouble shooting wiring, especially on multi engine airplanes. Especially if the job has been in work, around the clock, for two days. Have to TS like you did Eric. You and Ivan are always thinking out of the box – and that's a good thing. 🙂
I know Isabella's struggle. I had 3 channels growing up too lol. Usually didnt stay home to watch it lol
You know what I say when its green and crusty on the inside but looks good from the back. Y'alls little innuendos… hilarious!
I managed a body shop in FL some years ago. We had a You-Pull right across the street. I loved going over there and pillaging for connectors, interior pars, etc. Something within me that loves auto bone yards.
Arrr, Good pirate joke me Hearty.
Eric you are a gentleman and a scholar!!!!! Keep up the great work!!!!!!
Great job Eric. You are a true diagnostic expert.
Driving me nuts! LOL
Why dont you fasten your seat when road testing??.
Another great video. Surely worth grabbing a handful of fuses while at the junk yard, good for when you go through a few just fault finding? When I was at the scrap yard I used to grab a few extras, bulbs, fuses, relays etc.
Tell your Dr I want a GTT TEST.
That Autel is an beautiful thing, I can see why you frequently go for it.
Does it have an option to turn offauto ranging or set time/voltage divisions manually?
Was just wondering if right wheel signal had a different voltage signal, but tool auto adjusted voltage division to give you two signal graphs that looked the same during the first drive?
Anyways thanks for the video!
Every day is a school day. We see something new.
One of the best SMA vids I've seen (and I've seen a ton with the COVID). Well done, Eric O.
I have a 2005 chevy trailblazer that has an intermittent stalling issue. The codes it generates is a C0040 RF wheel speed sensor and a C0055 Both rear wheel sensor code. I have tried multiple mechanics at dealers and private businesses and they all say those codes are bogus. I even asked ScannerDanner and he said he wouldn't even allow my car in his shop because intermittent stalling is too hard to troubleshoot. I thanked him for his honesty and un subscribed from his channel.
Auto repair and comic relief, who knew…
