In this video I have a quick look at a 2007 Scion Tc that is throwing a code for a right rear wheel speed sensor. Thing is, the speed sensor works.... and it works well according to scan data. This begs the question, why won't the code clear then? Should that have been my first clue? Let's find out. -Enjoy!

What scan tool are you using?
Why isn’t Vinny in EVERY video?
Is Vinny your cousin?
great job boss, Blessings on you and yours.
Your cousin Vinny?
Could a wheel speed sensor need to be cleaned or re air gapped if it has something like that??
What does left side and right side mean ? Is it from driver seat position or standing in front of the car position ?
Catching up on some older videos…will look for part 2
Put a piece of black tape on the check engine light.
Finally u learn something new
So either the ECU
the Speed Sensor
the signal sent
the signal received
the tool (reader)
the soft ware coding in the ECU DOESN'T MATCH AND MAKE THE TOOLS HAPPY ENOUGH TO CLEAR THE CODE.
Vinny doing the scooter moon walk 🙂
On my Venza, the two rear ABS sensors were bad, it was the wire, at the big U bend. The broke but they are connected most of the time, only when you make a sharp turn or go through a big bump, the U bend is stretching out of shape, only then the ABS light comes on.
I want your autel obd scanner
219K miles… Hmm
“Toyota’s never have problems.”
Vinny Moonbiking on his Scooter cracked me up! 🤣
Put it in reverse Terry!!! 😂
Awesome stuff! Hi-Five to Vinnie for that perfect photo-bomb!
Wow, a "Super Fly" steering wheel cover!
seat belt charm is easy to turn off on these.
I would have taken the cluster out and removed the light in about 5min
Had that once before – code cleared itself shortly afterwards. Not sure why it wouldn't clear out with the tool. Maybe it did but for some reason the computer just didn't register / recognize it till after a number of clean restarts…
The transmission on that thing sounds like it is not long for this world.
Sounds like a faild wheel bearing noise in the background. Sometimes it will cause WSS codes to set, scan tool live data is great…….but the rate at which data is transmitted that is seen on the screen is slower than what the abs ecu sees. The graph will still have an uninterrupted line but watch the numbers. It skips substantially.
We all make mistake brother @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
Good video Eric O
Load test the wiring from the speed sensor too the module. Have found a lot of issues when load testing. Look on amazon for es load pro test leads. Best 50 buck you will ever spend. Takes a lot of guess work out of the job.
ROFL " there goes Vinny' While Eric o tries to hold his shit together…That one has to make it on the South Main Auto blooper video some day.
Had a very simular problem on my 96 BMW 7. The light came on with a front left sensor fault. It would not clear either. However like here live data was OK. So I unplugged the sensor and the connection looked slightly corroded. After cleaning and reconnecting the fault cleared and all was good….for a few weeks. Finally the moment the light came up I connected my scanner and there was no speed for that sensor. Replaced sensor (horrible job) and all good now.
Right, less than one minute in and I have already identified the first problem – – that damn steering wheel cover!!
Here comes Vinny and He looks mad! Walk briskly for your life!!
pull the fuse on the abs get rid of it.
DLC to ground jump box brand choice?
I had the same problem on a Yaris, there's a tsb to change that harness.
Abs module
What model is that autel? What autel do you recommend?
Back up Vinny, back up!
Hi good day what model autel maxisys are you using there to diagnose the vehicle
Scion TC (Total Crap)
YEA VINNY-!!
Vinnie!
Lmfao. Vinny
On my VW I was repaired the wire on my LF abs sensor. When I cleared the codes it reset my traction system but the ABS light would not turn off until I drived. I think it has to go through a short self-diagnostic test before it can be turned off on some foreign vehiles.
Will it haunt you? Yes.
Vinnie with the video BOMB
At one point I was blinded by that bedazzled steering wheel
Thank you for sharing your work experience with us. Keep up the good work.
is that road noise or a wheel bearing?
