In a previous video https://youtu.be/vCZ9NgV2ONk I showed you how to diagnose a vacuum operated Ford HVAC system that would not change modes as it should. We were gonna take a trip to the pick and pull but decided to have a look at the inner o-rings first. Low and behold it was an easy fix for this customer.-Enjoy!

You rule! I'm a master harley tech and really loved your vid, I learned a lot and laughed some too. Gonna check your other videos. Thanx
Thanks for the 'rubber grease' tip. There's a joke in there somewhere…
I know this is an old video but I figured I’d try my luck with a response. I’m going to change the O rings tomorrow, to see if this works. Will this effect the temperature as well? The air is stuck in defrost position, the blender functions as it should. it opens and closes when i adjust the temp dial. But It doesn’t change the temp, It’s just ambient temperature. It has fresh coolant and I don’t believe it is plugged up anywhere. Any help from anyone would be much appreciated.
Your video is real life the way it is.
Thanks
A quick scroll of your videos shows more GM repairs then Ford? Shouldnt be making nasty remarks about Ford when GM's (appear) to be in your shop more then Ford's. Just saying.
Thank you SOUTH MAIN AUTO REPAIR.
You've saved me about $500 dollars.
I fixed it my self following your instructions and it worked.
Thank you..
2 bugs each
Yeah it's tough to be ginger when you too much like fred lol but sometimes you have to swing for the fences then its hero time. Always a good idea to check the solenoids just to be thorogh
Perhaps not so much leaky orings, but stuck. Adding some grease allowed them all to move properly.
Great video! I tor mine apart and fixed it in about 1&1/2 hours.
Do you have a Video on replacing the blend door actuator on a 2007 crown Victoria.? The O ring change video was great. It went well when I tried it but I suspect the potentiometer in the actuator is a sometimes item. I have a new blend door motor but access seems like a real trick to get to. I have enjoyed at least 2 dozen of your videos and have actually done three different projects as you showed me. All went well.
Move the mouse, God doesn't help agnostics 😉
Going to bring my 1993 caddy Deville to ur shop I’ll pay you to do a video on it!! It would get a bunch of views because it’s the notorious e41 code. Had 2 different mechanics change the Hall effect sensor and I’ve tried repairing the wires. Love ur work so much I’m driving from Indiana !!
Got cramps in my arthritic fingers watching you repair the unit. Probably would have told the customer it'll cost you 7 Franklins for a reman with labor take it or leave it.
I know this is an old video but can I send you mine off my truck and have you do the same thing? How much would that cost me????
Best episode yet. LoL
Great video of a job well done! I don't think the failure was due to the O-rings leaking. I'm thinking the failure was the O-rings dried out and the solenoid didn't have enough power to move the stuck plunger. The stuck plungers therefore couldn't activate the vacuum lines.
The old fashioned cabled flap system to change the airflow direction seemed more reliable.
I am curious why you didn't check the electrical function of the solenoids prior to disassembly and overing replacement. Beyond that those really small O-rings small pieces. I have the same problem in augmented by arthritis. I like watch me use chopsticks to eat rice! Whole other story.
I wanted to go to pick and pull.
Virtually pornographic or is it just me.
The Drs. Assistant is in the house! 😂
I’m jealous I love it when it’s windy.
who else said "Don't forget the spring?"
Thats what she said
Was anyone else yelling at the screen-"THE SPRING…THE SPRING"!?
wish some woman in a pretty voice would say to me " I need you."
I have a hard time imagining a dealer mechanic making this repair. It is much easier seeing him replacing an entire unit.
Stay safe through the coming (Jan 20-22, 2019) snow storm.
Wilbert's is awesome!
Uses rubber lube and then Nope, wrong. You're off one hole fella. You don't want that to do that in real life. Good job as always Eric.
Don't bend the donger
Your a man of many talents…It's amazing all the stuff you can fix-not just cars.
Sorry that was suppose to say hey Eric I hate spell check
So, moral to this story. Always double check your rubber, leaks happen..
Which model Autel Maxisys do you use?
Next brake video can you please show us the sandblasting process for the hardware contact points? I have never used a sand blaster before, so it would be interesting to see.
wow learn a new thing today thank
Does anyone know if a 99 GMC Jimmy have a vacuumed control valve like this ford has? I seem to have the same problem
Excellent. Into the unknown rode the 600 ! Fixed it though, very little bucking so you stayed in the saddle. Pffffft maybe I need to get out a little more !
Totally relate … I drop the same stinking part 20 times and then forget to put something back in (spring) …. just so I can do it twice..
Agnostic work!
Ivan has taught you well
