I've owned an 02 GMC 2500 HD Diesel 2500 for about 20 yrs, it had 116,000 Ks on it, I put a double filtration unit on it (also been using synthetic oil (Amsoil, now Shell) and it's been a rock mechanically, always ran like a charm (25 MPG imperial), but it's body is gone, I have close to 400,000 Ks on it, and now I am going to replace most of the body, except the cab & the hood, thats me plan, I'm 69 & Istill love that truck!
Ok, now I got this brainwave. Get some beds and a couch and a tv, put them in the South Main Garage shop and list it on AirBnB for $999.00 a night. You can thank me later for helping you retire and putting your kids through college.

I've been all over the world, seen many different cultures and ways of living mostly while in the navy. When I got out I said I'll never leave the lower 48 because there is more there to see and enjoy I'll never see it all in my life time. The only time I'll leave the lower 48 is to see some of Alaska. From what I take from what you said you've never been west of the Mississippi. All I can say is load up the kids before their older and don't want to hang out with mom and dad and get on interstate 90 and head west. See the corn palace, the bad lands, wall drugs in wall South Dakota, the black hills, Devils tower, the wagon ruts in Wyoming, and Yellowstone and much much more. Almost 40 years ago I made my first trip with the kids and it was the best time.
