That wheel was moving a bit but the body wasnt when you were torquing down the wheel. Is that a sign of worn bushings?

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Thomas Goral says:

Thanks for the detail !!! Really well done.

I have a made in 1/15 original Italian made passenger front caliper you can have for $100 and I will ship tge monster for free. Its a 4 pot "Chevrolet by Brembo" and will not fit my 2020 Camaro. Its in great shape and usually go for $260 on eBay. Car guy discount to you. Mine are made in Brembo's new Mexico factory. $250 for the pair with pads…..scares me!!!

I tell you what, I never got the same brake feeling/performance from my Brem's after replacing the original pads/rotors. IDk but pay the $2000 bucks if you what your brakes to rip your face off again. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jeff McCoy says:

I can't figure out what the round things on top of the brake pads are for?

this is the most trivial silliest thing but my favorite part about this channel is ya work with your bare hands,, not one of the new age wussy mechanics that glove up like they about to do a rectal exam..

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Johnny Sechrist says:

We're still waiting for Mrs. O to hold those two fingers up behind someones head….if you wondered whos head yall aint paying attention.

This video saved me so much money

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Cembruh says:

Can anyone provide the part number for the front and rear rotors?

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars B-MAN says:

Gonna be fun when I need to replace my Challengers pads and rotors.. only.. "ONLY" 3,500-4 grand (CDN) in front brake parts alone …. 6 Piston brembo life… ๐Ÿ˜›

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars N. B. P. Davenport says:

New rotors will warp cut the old ones

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Stephen Naccari says:

And peds and calibers are the same thing with the pins on a 74 Volvo

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars oneuniverseable says:

One small note I discovered: GM procedure states you are to replace the caliper mounting bolts if you remove them. The angle torque spec indicates that these are a torque to yield bolt. They are single use. You could probably use them multiple times but I wouldn't be surprised if the repeated stretching over time will cause them to come loose. Also, coat bolts with loctite completely for the first 2/3rds of the bolt..

Seems kind of crazy to me. But, it is a Brembo performance item made for a performance car. Not surprising that something like this would be the case.

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ALEX says:

I know this is an old video but that simple ? My wifes car …. you can change all the pads without even taking a wheel off.

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Paul Navarro says:

Could you put those on a 2nd gen?

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars GreenBeats11 says:

I am very confused why an OEM Brembo brake system calls for DOT 3 instead of DOT 4? DOT 4 is super cheap and seems like a sensible combination for a high end brand brake system that is supposed to be tracked. A quart of Valvoline DOT 4 synthetic is 11 dollars from Autozone.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars joshua avila says:

Hey do we need to replace the caliper bolt?

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Dickerson says:

I still prefer "Click Type" torque wrenches ๐Ÿ”ง๐Ÿ˜‹

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars M Looman says:

Powerstop upgrade all the way around would do it justice at a fraction of the cost.
I have a 2020 LT1 and empty it weighs 3640 and me in it 3880.
I cannot get traction at all in comp mode. Mustangs get me the first 80ft and then i start pulling hard . The chargers are hilarious . I pull hard on them around 70mph.
I have read top speed in 190 and also read 155.
I was doing 145mph in 5th at 4600 rpms and still pulling. Redline at 6500 and still had 6th gear. Love that 3:73 rear differential. I can build a better ZL1 -1LE for about 15k

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars rizrz34 says:

eric using a torque wrench? wtf??

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars someusername121 says:

That fluid film on the hub is 100% going to cook off. Probably permatex ultra ceramic the only stuff that would handle it.

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars rm23 m says:

At what mm depth does the rotor need replacement?

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mr.Black Stig says:

Assuming you didn't skip anything when you first started bleeding it, you bleed it wrong, alpha chassis cards are different than normal.

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars zr1sparky1 says:

Eric you've probably been asked this a zillion times but where did you get that sound clip you use for brake clean? It's awesome

  31. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars David Dennett says:

Now I know why I can't break loose the bolt that holds the rotor to the hub. Learn something everyday

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Carl Formsma says:

Funny, I watch you doing your best on jobs and it is very entertaining, but I feel I was with you helping.. I'm then so exhausted. Wifey then comes and tells me to mow the lawn. Dreams shattered.๐Ÿ™„
Mrs. O always gives me a chuckle.

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Aes Cyprium says:

Hey, what's it mean if those pins are bowed? …Besides get some new ones? We/I did that. What would cause that to happen?

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dave Watson says:

Great video. The caliper torque – what it ended up being after the 90ยฐ turn, has sparked a lot of debate on the โ€˜expertโ€™ forums! TTY bolts, etc. Friggin tight! Thx for posting.

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Steve G says:

Those are some crappy rotors to be using in a race environment. He'll be replacing them again…

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars EnderWiggin says:

My 2012 Regal has the same front Brembos, this video's been helpful.

  39. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ugh3012 says:

I didnโ€™t enjoy watching this one because it was not crusty like all other cars you worked on. Lol.

  40. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars playdemkeys love says:

Dont understand the 33 degree ft pounds then another 90 degree so is that not just 120 ft pound torque

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars The Devil In The Circuit says:

"Shakes like a milennial drinkin' Red Bull." Hilarious!

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars tedjohnson64 says:

Wow, Iโ€™m impressed the brake pads are made in Italy! I didnโ€™t realize Italy still had any factories left, as their economy seems to be 99% tourism based.

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Xavier says:

No grease on the pads themselves?

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars syntaxerorr says:

After the break in. Do you also try a "panic" stop? I like to do them…I also like to try a stop that will activate the ABS.

  45. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Shane Harrison says:

Sweet nice to see that camero again

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Carrera11STi says:

Why no brake grease on the shim surface that contacts the pistons?

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars A says:

Neither slotted nor drilled rotors for heavy track use!?

  48. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars AMC USHER says:

Watch torque wrench are you using brother? Thanks

  49. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars South Main Auto Repair LLC says:

1st: A lot of folks want to know why I did not install slotted, drilled, vented rotors and a different pad.

ANSWER: I only do what I am asked to do by the customer, it is not my car

2nd: Why are the front hubs splined?

ANSWER: This is the same wheel part number bearing used in the 2008 to 2015 Cadillac CTS AWD. GM just fitted them to the Camaro too…
