I had 2 grand Cherokee with select trac transfer case. Not easy to come buy
My Sister bought a Jeep Grand cherokee laredo…close to 300,000 miles and I put a new starter on it…but starting prob still exists…wiggle + battery cable…it starts…I cleaned and sanded both and greased to keep humidity out…+ cable end might be that flat bar (bent) with bolt @ end…mmmmm corroded itself…could be…
Go for it . Cant wait for it!
Izusu rodeo/ passport 3.2. Bullet proof
Good luck with the Jeep
Temporary insanity or the best deal on a vehicle in the last 50 years.
You deserve a new toy Eric the jeep looks great. Be nice back here in yorkshire dales in england put it through its paces.
Ya I know this video is 3 years , but my wife and I are jeep people, I'm actually still working on ours ! We have an 07 jeep liberty sport 4×4 , we picked her up with 145000 original miles , we are second owner , she currently has 205500 miles , she has the 3.7 , I've done a lot of work to her. All new brake calipers pads rotors , brake hoses , radiator, upper and lower hoses , , new radiator fan , new upper control arms lower ball joints , the list goes on and on , so yes I know exactly what you are talking about ! Rack and pinion front and rear bearings and seals , flushed everything! ! Now I think I need to replace the transfer case , select Trac ! It's making a clicking noise !
I don't feel so bad being a jeep lover now, knowing you like them too,,,,I've always been a jeep man !
Give me a 69 charger and I would be happier than you.
Haha
And you drive a tundra
Jeep Guy WOW dude i feel let down๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
I'm way late in finding this, but I gotta watch it all now! I'm in the process of looking for a replacement for my rusted out '02 Burb. Daughter had a Gran Cherokee I liked, wifes got a 99 Wrangler we like and I've got my 83 Scrambler project (came from Alaska- no NYS rust!!!) and a couple of CJ5 field Jeeps. Now I'm going to have to see how your build turns out- you might push me over he edge!!!!
I think Eric liked the Jeep better the way it was. Maybe Iโm wrong but it sure seems that way to me.
Do you have any tshirts. With pockets for men?
Can we get a update on this jeep?
Nice buy Iโve had 2 grand Cherokee
I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Are newer Jeeps generally better made than other Fiat/Chrysler products?
Nice ride brother it's going to look ๐ Awesome.
Man, if you ever change those factory wheels, offer to sell them to me, PLEASE!
I just love them, and mine are all looking old.
GASHOGG
Where did you find the blenddoors?
Can ya tell me I have a 2002 4.7 with the select track 242 hd transfer case. Iโm haveing a hell of a time finding u joints for it Iโve talked to many dealers I get conflicting information on which U joints to use ???? Both front and back u joints I want to change new u joints. Can you advise me on the u joints. Itโs all u joints with the front drive line has the double cardan at the transfer case and a regular u joint at the front differential ? Help me if you can with part numbers for spicier u joints. If you reply I thank you.
I got a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7L Quad drive when a friend's sister passed away. I test drove it for her before she bought it. The previous owner beat it pretty bad, mechanically. Body and drivetrain were solid. She had it about 2 years before she passed in 2008, about six months after I got it the engine died. 70k and it was junk. I put in a re-man crate 4.7L engine. I drove I daily until 2020 when I donated it to a local charity. Never got stuck in any conditions, I had in on beaches and thru snow. It walked right thru. The best vehicle I had.
Just bought myself a Wj and I'm super excited you've documented the lift process. How is your Wj doing? Have you done the transfer case swap yet? Would love an update video.
You do realize when you get done with all this that this is not going to be your vehicle. Not with the girl you married. You'll be lucky if you get to ride in it ๐
You mean to tell me she wouldn't date you for your hard body handsome looks and financial skills. There's more of a Jeep and there was a dude with it ๐ฅบ
Glad you left out the premaintenance for deez jeep. Good thinking. Jazzed about the future project, especially because I'm thinking you know what your doing on how to do it right and have the skill to get it done. I am excited too Great!.Have some fun.Know that us viewers will be having a good time along with you.cant hardly wait.
Gosh that smile on his face through out the video reminds me of when I got my first jeep. A 97 XJ 2dr, a kid in a candy shop doesn't even begin to explain it. I look forward to keep track of the update videos!!!
I feel sorry for such a immaculate original Grand Cherokee to be lifted : (
Wow. All those issues! Sounds like a Jeep.
I bought a brand new Jeep Grand cherokee Overland in 2003. It was the 2.3 mercedes 5 pot diesel engined version. It cost me ยฃ29000 UK. They offered me the V8 for just ยฃ26000. I did not buy because the Petrol in the Uk is a stupid price. I did 30,000 miles in it over 3 years. Only problems were seat heater change drivers side . Front ball joints had play. The rear diff was noisy because i had a puncture & fitted a new tire to one side only. Straining the diff for about 8000 miles. I sold it for from memory ยฃ6000. Massive loss over 3 years. Not very popular in the UK.
I just bought a 185K 2001 WJ last month, and I need to do a lot of those "piddly" maintenance things that we do when we buy a used vehicle, so I am biased, and I completely get what you're saying about not wanting to risk your channel getting bogged down on a single vehicle, but having those videos available on Patreon would have made me a subscriber to your patreon (would have been a first for me) instead of just a random donator via paypal. You're my favorite YT mechanic for a lot of reasons. Would have loved a detailed look at my car through your eyes (and skilled hands). Not trying to bust your balls, just saying it's something to consider in the future. Love your stuff sir.
First thing you do, RUST PROOF IT!!!๐
<I wont one of them car trailers? LOL but they not cheep.
Instead of rebuilding that one why not just buy a new one?
Heated seats with leather…. talk about redundant.
What happened with this truck Eric. Do you still have it
Mrs. O's got to watch out for the pedestrian signs at Walmart with that one
OH HOW I WISH I COULD FIND A REPLACE FOR MY 04 CHEROKEE THAT LOOKS LIKE THAT. JUST GOT THE NEWS MINE IS HEADING FOR THE LAST ROUNDUP
Never considered how lucky i am getting my vehicles in las Vegas till I started watching your videos! How the hell do you guys handle that rust
Poor guy likes chevys and jeeps lol
I've got to say those 4.7L HO engines Crysler built were some pretty powerful engines, I just wish there were more aftermarket parts available for them though….
My dad learned to drive in a โ42 Willyโs.
The guy that delivered the jeep looks like Mack Brown the ex longhorn coach
We'll start calling him "Jeevy"…..
This Jeep would be called a "cream puff" when I was growing up.
You did a great job editing the footage, especially the "Special Delivery" tie in because that wasn't even rehearsed. ๐ Have fun with the project and thanks for a great time in your home.
