In this video I have a look at a 2007 Hyundai Tucson 2.7 4wd that has a customer complaint of "surging and jerking while trying to drive steady." It doesn't take to long to find the culprit. Remember just because the engine light is not on does not mean the problem is not there. -Enjoy!

So that 2nd pin in the TPS is just a limit stop? That's different.
You’re right, you need a license to drive a vehicle but nothing to own a pet…..that’s a shame.
If it works don't knock it. Use what you have, save the money! If you don't need to buy a cheaper tool and what you have
works, save the money.
Absolutely animals are children
Thinking that's what my problem is with my neon .has pretty smooth idle but after 2500 r pm it starts to buck like a Rev limiter
I know you're in your element with electrical problems but slow down just a little so a dummy like me can keep up !
could someone, hopefully eric lol, help me grasp why it matters if he disconnects ground at the scan tool or the sensor? I would assume disconnecting the ground at either spot would cause same effect. But it didnt. One effected 5v ref signal and one effected the sensor signal. Just trying to lock this stuff down mentally.
??? do you ever get korean or chinese parts that you do not have to repair or that is nottt junk??? 1 out 5 is always junk!! i am sure their parts that they use works well..like their war machines!!!
People that keep dogs on chains need a reality check…like a good azz whuppin. Fur babies are family.
"Go watch somebody else"… not a chance!!
Wish your shop was hear in North West NJ
What a guy!
Did you wiggle it just a little bit?
Is there a relearn process when replacing a TPS?
The graph lines reminds me of playing with Etch a Sketch when we were kids back in the day. 😆
I think what you mean is if you get a dog or any other animal for that matter, take care of it. A pet is not property to be ''got rid of'' on a whim.
Love the videos though having worked in a machine shop all my life I'm the sucker that has had to rebuild heads blocks or whatever lol Glad I've not had to deal with the general public, I would tell the idiots to F%$& off lol I like the way you work you're clearly a cleaver sod (I'm English you may have to look that up but it is a compliment) 🙂
I know this video is 3 years old, hopefully you'll see this. What was that piece of equipment you used showing the throttle position? My son has a 2018 Hyundai Tucson that suddenly revvs at 2500 rpm at even throttle. It's not shifting it just revvs higher, does it to 3000 rpm then back down. The place he bought the car says it sounds "normal" to them but it wasn't happening before. It drive 265 miles the first day he got it and it was fine, then drove it another 3 days after that and it was fine, then it started happening. It's not "normal" but they don't want to say they have no idea what it is. Seeing you show that throttle position is what I need to see bc it would do that if there was something going on, if it was jumping high and then chilling out. I doubt they're looking into it like you did here bc as others have said, not many do. Thank you for any help.
Second time I watch this video ,still love it.
Hyundai = no code intermittent headaches in my world
Please move to Omaha Ne
I will buy you Sub Sandwiches
Every day
And make Sure the Neighbors keep Dogs quiet 😎
Someone replaced the fuel pump alrdy before i bought it
2001
Man i have a gmc 1500 and it has no money light but i hv changed the feul pressure sensor on the tank cleaned the evap thing between the cab n bed and the regulator on the motor and it still just hesitates and you can only give it a 1/4 throttle or it bogz out and popz and almost dies i dunno wat else to do .. only code it ever came up wth is the evap codes. If ya could i would b grtful
Sure cure dog barking issue- 22LR behind left ear.
Great video
My 06 charger rt doing that
My car has the same problem and my mechanic just blew it off as something else that is normal and would not even look at it. Now I will change it myself.
Hey that's my motto too. If they can do it, I can do it.
Would this diagnosis/ repair apply to a standard transmission vehicle as well?
Eat a snickers lmao
magnetic tip screwdriver??
My question is since the Eric thinks this car is a threat to his life to drive will he communicate this to the lady who's car this is it needs struts and wheel bearings and brakes or he would not have passed it to drive on the roads he also drives on.
U got rid of the buck now she owes you doe 🤣
Your dog rant was spot on. Anyone who has a dog who barks all day should have their dog taken away. Dogs don't just bark to bark, they bark because their needs aren't being met. Like that dog on a chain whose deprived of socialization and the ability to run around.
All kinds of tools are nice. I have an inch-pound torque wrench from Harbor Freight (not a sponsor) that saved me more than a hundred bucks. I've only used it once. My brother called me an idiot because now I have a torque wrench that I don't use.
I told him that fifteen dollar wrench saved me three times what it cost. And I'll have it if I ever need it again.
But Mrs. S doesn't let me go to tool stores alone any more.
I agree with you about the other shop. It's sad how those other shops do this stuff.
Awesome advice. Same issue on a 98 pathfinder. FIXED!☺
Your rant on the dogs is correct. What I have noticed is that people with little mental capacity do not in any way realize that dogs are social creatures. They need with their pack. Which is you if you have only one dog. No empathy type understanding at all. It slips past a feeble mind. Reminds me of putting two chimps in cages side by side. You can give one some really good gifts of food. The chimp next door sits and cries and begs but the chimp eats happily never noticing his fellow next door. That is the people who own next door SMA dog. Chimps.
This cant be a SMA video, there was no brake clean or loctite used.
Aside from being the 3 star general (repair expert) that I have ever "met", Eric is a dog person. One more star!
Yeah, there's nothing like excessive dog barking while your hunched over fumbling with a tiny screw in a no man's land area !
Maybe warn the owner first………..
Next time it happens, file a complaint !
They'll probably give em so many occurances and then fine like a thousand dollars a day !
Or take the dog to the pound and fine ?
I had a Sun Interrogator big box scope………with the floppy discs for different mfgrs.
The Snap On comes out with the handheld scanners and basically rendered the big box obsolete.
However, could still run many tests.
Rolled with the Allen scope in tech. School…………
I thought that was the cat's behind at the time !
But the setup you got goin is truly wonderfull, and you demonstrate the test sequences very well.
A big plus is the language in your instructional videos…………
You're speaking my language,
I mean that there are many other great vid's but they're Pakistani or Russian or German and a bit difficult to understand sometimes.
You, I can understand and laugh along with your comedic style.
Thanks Eric for the tech. Tools updates and the laughs !
Eric O. I agree about putting a dog on a chain without ever taking care of it. I think it should be illegal to keep a dog chained up constantly on a chain.
The tools are only as good as the man useing them and dude theres nothing wrong with your work ethic anyone has issue with you their an idiot and they have no idea what it takes and I dont care if if your working with snap on tools or Fisher price it depends on the skill levels of the mechanic all my tools were oriental sale tools and as they made me money I got better tools but most folks havent a clue brother
Dont change a thing Mr.O ! People can be rude .
No apologies for being correct if they own a dog they should take good care of it if no they shouldnt have it and not on only a 5 foot chain. I had mine on a 60 foot dog run and she never made a peep but we always took time for her
Lol you will have this on some cars got them both up
No their rockers
Unplug it and put it on
Come to North Carolina
Believe it or not we don't have many mice in the south, or at least here in west Tn. in the burbs.
Well if they had a half a brain they'd know better you do your work very well Eric
