Look at you using the power probe. I didn't like them at first. But on Thursday it was a easy quick check on a door ajar switch on a f150.

Thanks for the video. I have a similar issue on my 2005 Chrysler T&C (3.8L) with CE light on with P0032 code. Initially, I thought it was just a bad O2 sensor so I replaced it. That didn't work; I tried 2 other brand names based on internet blogs; that didn't work. After watching your videos, I decided to perform various electrical tests. It turned out that the sensor is not getting the power from the PCM (only reads 9V, not 12V). Do you know which pin/wire from the PCM is the wire to the sensor? Is it ok to run a separate power line directly from the battery to the O2 sensor? Thank you.

I just wanted to give a shout out to South Main. I used this video to fix my P0032 Bank one sensor one heater circuit high on my 2002 Grand Cherokee 4.7 v8. I don’t have a scan tool but was able to use my muti-meter to find the issue. I hade 13 volts on both heater wires!? Based on what learned I was able to figure out that all the wires for the oxygen sensor had melted together. The dude that installed the motor had run the harness between the exhaust manifold and the motor mount instead of under the motor mount.

Great detective work, Eric! That's the "trouble" with being honest. We tend to forget that others aren't necessarily! Not surprised that it was a ground issue. I'm convinced that 70% of electrical issues are due to ground issues (just my experince). 👍

I was always taught by my father to turn the bolt CC into the threaded casting until you feel and hear the " CLICK". Then turn the bolt CW, threading it in every time. People get in such a darn hurry. Good video Doctor O.

My 05 jeep 5.7 is saying all 4 heater circuits are low. Weird thing is it drives fine most of the time but then really rough idle, stalling. Seems odd all 4 go bad at the same exact time. PS good video definitely subscribed.

Man I wish I had this man help me on my Jeep right now. It’s been over a year now and 3-4 thousand dollars spent. Initially when all the codes popped up(p0032, 0038, 0052, 0058), I thought how the hell could all these codes pop up at the same time if it were the 02 sensors? I thought that it’s something deeper then 02 sensors. Potentially the PCM. Not the catalytic converter because I had just replaced it 2 years prior. Thought it might be a short in the engine wiring harness somewhere maybe. I cleaned all the ground points after doing lots of research(g104, etc etc), sprayed electrical spray all over the place. Nothing. Decided to replace all 4 oxygen sensors with NGK/NTK. All the codes returned. Cool. Started to look around to mechanics I don’t even know and trust to ask them to see if they could figure it out. Bunch of lowlives at a shop told me it’s the pcm. Paid them to tell me something I already suspected but needed to be SURE by someone licensed and experienced before I spent close to 1700$. Go ahead and spend that amount of money- switch out the pcm. Codes came back:) this time go to another shop that has old wranglers out front— I explained everything and asked for them to check the WIRING for shortages etc. They tell me it’s a clogged catalytic converter……..buy one, replace it. Codes come back. I’m pissed. Everything I already knew, everything I explained to the mechanics, paid them, they just one by one cancelled everything out I already said and took my money for nothing.
Finally I’m at this mechanic who is top notch. He knows what he’s doing trust me. He told me 3 months ago when I asked him to test the wiring that there’s a big oil leak at the valve cover which I knew about. Valve cover gasket set. He also tells me at that time that he checked the voltage throughout from pcm etc and said because of the oil leak it caused contamination in the wires and that he can rewire them but before doing so we need to fix the culprit or it’ll happen again which was fixing the gasket. Ok. Makes sense. Main issue I thought it could be a year ago. The wiring located at the back of the engine that you can’t reach without tearing things apart. Bought a gasket. Brought my Jeep to him yesterday.
He just called me. He’s telling me he fixed the gasket that was really bad leaking badly etc that’s fixed. He said while it was off he checked the wiring and said all of it was in good condition and there’s no shortages found throughout. He’s saying it’s the 02 sensors!!! And I’m thinking how can this be??? I replaced all of them. Not only that— how can all 4 of them go bad at once? Not only that— I put NGK in which is basically OEM for my Jeep? He says no you need to get FACTORY/ORIGINAL from dealership. I’m saying the dealership will give me the NGK!?!? NGK IS WHAT I INSTALLED A YEAR AGO AND IT DIDNT FIX THE ISSUE! He’s not listening to me. Maybe he is right though.
Could it be that MOPAR will fix the issue?
I’m so fed up with all of this now after a year, thousands of waisted dollars, a horrible running Jeep, thousands spent in gas money, stress, etc etc.
Now I’m picking my Jeep up tomorrow not knowing how it will drive and if the gasket was even worth having done. I had it done because he told me the wiring needed to be rewired due to oil contamination and fixing the gasket needs to be done before doing it— this is why I had this done. Now he’s telling me that he can’t find anything anywhere and that it’s the 02 sensor heater circuit 100% and that I need to buy them from the dealer.
Won’t the dealer just give me NGK? Doesn’t MOPAR make NGK and vise versa and just charge you more etc? I’m going to try buying ONE MOPAR 02 sensor tomorrow and switch one out to see what happens………I’m beyond fed up with dealing with mechanics who have no clue what they’re talking about. Advising me to replace parts I already suspected and mentioned and taking my money to finding out that was even the cause? It’s the same thing over and over now for 3-4 times in a year and the problem still isn’t fixed.
Hi, I have a question I tried to give you a call at your shop but it said you were unable to talk because of the full time business. I’m shopping for a wrangler and I found one that is a 2007 with this problem and only has 76k miles on it they are asking 7k for it is it worth the buy to have it fixed or is this costly to fix and will there be further issues with it. Thanks
Better question, where do you find those wiring diagrams reliably. I've seen multiple sites that look sketchy. I'd be willing to go up to $60 for a good service manual, but the 200 i've seen is ridiculous (I bought a used 2012 jk unlimited, cant find the FSM)
