I pray Hannah is doing well at school. Eric, my shops first alignment machine was a Hunter, Electro align. Learned on a light align.
I really wish I was much closer to you, oh by the way that pickle fork also looks like a seafood fork.
I know this is one of your older videos, thank you you showed me what I was missing on my 03 Sonoma while trying to remove the pitman arm from the center link to pull the steering box. Thank you for showing this step I was loosing my mind.
Hi Eric I have a 2000 Chevy s10 2.2l it cranks a long time have to hold a pedal to the floor but when it starts it like a sluggish start lops for a second and smooths right out no misfire and takes gas good You have any tips on what I should check first
Say it ain't so? I needed this exact video! Oh yeah! I replaced these things a few years ago, and now the steering wheel has more slop than it did before… Just checked and all the joints are loose and sloppy, I re-tightened the castle nuts on the idler arms to center-link, but they're still jiggly, can't even budge the nuts on the inner-tie rod to center-link, too tight, but the joint is also jiggly and a bit wiggly…. play in the steering wheel makes it feel like driving an old boat }[: P
I got a 1986 s1p long bed with 79000 miles and low rust for 1000 bucks
pro tip if your doing you own replace it all get it over with tie rods sway bar if not when you get it all lined up something elese go bad in no time
Those was the days
Is the procedure the same for a 4×4? I have an88 s15 jimmy 4×4 4.3l and I have to rebuild front end
I was just wondering why you changed that center link?
Good vid. New sub🤘🏻
Yes I’ve done 100’s of those combos. You should have pickle forked the inner tie rod ends first. Then the pitmen arm. Because of slop to loosen the inner tie rods.
I never had a press to take out the inner tierods. We just pickle forked everything apart. It worked and I am ok with that.
And another thing that kinda pisses me off, is those coarse threaded metric self locking nuts.
They seemed to grab the tie rod stud too hard and spin. Then I would have to get a prybar and pry the thing together so it would not spin as I turned the nut to tighten it.
Just ranting!!!!😛
Second time watching it is always great
Im gonna have to get an air hammer to get my centerlink off the idler
It's nice to see a repair video where it's not sped up like you're on speed….
I am going to be doing it on a 93 is there a way to avoid moving the idler arm?
Do you have a video showing pitman arm removal of the S10 4WD? I have a 1st Gen '85 and there's absolutely no clearance for pitman arm puller.
Great channel!
Is Miss Hannah an O/R nurse-in-training? "Hannah, hand me a 10 mm short socket. Scalpel. Clamp. Vice grips." It's all the same.
"Amish style" You got a million of em. That's what makes your channel so enjoyable. It's not just car talk but you add a personal touch to your videos, including your family. A very entertaining mix. Where is the rust on that old timer?
It's a tuning fork, not pickle.
three belts jesus too many!
Omg I used to have an 85 GMC s15 LWB! I loved that tan truck! 😢😭 it was my first vehicle…. if I knew who had it id go buy it back…. last saw it on the road year or so ago (I blew engine by not checking oil and had rebuilt by racecar shop…. that was one awesome truck! )
UGGA DUGGAS! We see them, no brakkleen this time! Great Video! This is an old video, "Miss Hannah's in the house!"
"Click!"
AvE fan?
I own a 1987 S10 4WD 5 sp. Why i bought it i'll never know. 7 years later it's never gone down the road. But it could……..
hannah: i said id do the job
eric: yeah but we gotta get it done today..
ouch 🙁 .. lol
SWEEEET VID 🚹
i believe the grease fitting is called a Zerk, for those that were wondering the official name was.
With Hanna studying nursing, and you wearing those white nitrile gloves, I'm surprised when you ask for a wrench that she doesn't slap it into you palm like a surgeon!!! LOL!
Just a safety third tip, remove that mushroom at the end of your pickle fork .If that mushroom is hit just right , it will be like a flying piece of shrapnel just looking for a eye or something tender.
Come along as Eric O. gets schooled on proper dining etiquette…..cutlery division.
Play with that chassis every day. Postal trucks are just an S-10 with a Grummins cab
You going run out of work with josh and hannah pulling weight and gravy jobs like this with bolts that just fall off, even big nasty left in the drawer 🙁
More time for icecream and maple goodness lol …
No "Good Stuff"! Gasp..
lol "click"
Pretty clean underneath for the age. Thanks for the video.
Kinda strange, you said it was 10 o'clock exactly at 10 o'clock (p.m.) when I was watching the video.
Grind that mushroomed head off of that pickle fork. You know better than that!
A new SMA video to top off a great weekend of camping in beautiful Watkins Glen N.Y.!
If I can do it and Hanna can do it you can do it!
Can you do a full tool inventory. I'm interested in what kind of tool you use for rust vehicles. Mostly what air tools you have???
