How do you like the harbor freight earthquake half-inch impact wrench
Do you know the torque spec # for the 4 bolts to the bearing hub?
Thanks aweso.e channel
Been there done that man Ford are a pain in the rear ๐
How happy are you with the harbor freight impact?
living in eastern Canada and more salt than anywhere I have learned to cut u joint out with zip disc first , that way you are only banging out one cap at a time instead of 2 caps at the same time , less stress and pressure needed , in theory much less chance of bending ears on axle
It's interesting how hard it was to get the rest of that spline in. I wonder if it would be easier if you marked the axle shaft angle before you removed it and then inserted it back in the same orientation.
Hey south main auto repair. Great videos! How long should this job take a guy if he has the proper tooling and space to do the job? Iโm mechanically hands on but first time doing the job!
THIS GUY IS BOTH A TEACHER AND SUPERIOR MECHANIC! A BAD BEARING ON THESE TRUCKS IS A DEATH TRAP.
excellent presentation. Wish I knew these needed replacing that frequently as my son is on the side of I-40 when front end vibration sheered the studs off and wheel rolled off. He says he recently tightened lug nuts with the new digital torque wrench I bought him. So he figures the bearing is shot and a shop he found on the road is doing the replacement even tho he could do it but he doesn't have all the tools needed especially the 1 5/16" 12 point and torque wrench with him.
Nothing like a good piece of hickory!!!
brake dust shield?
Hello, love your show very informative.
I have a 2017 Dodge Ram 2500 with 35000 miles and I have a slight shake nothing drastic when I reach 39 to 49 mph and then it goes away. Any suggestions to why this is happening???
Any help will be grateful.
Angel from Tucson, AZ
You and your wife having too much fun my wife would beat me up she is a mean woman I would have two black eyes and a broke arm
These are a PIA! I think kingpins are easier! Lol!
Absolutely no reason to reinstall the keepers on the studs. FYI – Most aftermarket wheels do not have relief cuts around the lug holes and a vibration or a loose wheel can result if they are not removed.
Come on Mrs. O use the muscle! doing mechanics work in a sundress and heels!
Thanks for posting this. I don't see how you can be so happy while working in all that rust. Now I feel bad about complaining about the slight patina on my hubs. haha
Hey man is the passenger side bearing just that much harder to get all the way seated on the splines?
people like you make me look smart…I wanna send you something… you take payments? couldn't have done this u joint without ya
He didnโt put any new seals (any seals period) on before putting the hub back on.
Mrs O with the guns. You know the only way to beat her Eric is to make he laugh
I just wanted to say thank you for your most wonderful work on creating these how to videos I have learned a great deal and I'm glad I don't live in New York area it's too bad the way that's all treasure vehicles in Mississippi we don't have that problem so I just wanted to say I appreciate you you're a very wonderful and knowledgeable good mechanic I noticed this video was put out two years ago if you still read these notes keep up the good work
It's funny you say that about wooden handle hammers. I bought the snap-on fiber handle set & find myself always going to the wooden ones also. Just old school maybe?
Why didn't you clean it before you put the axle In. Lol
I love your videos Eric the car guy
Great video. So its needs to be in four wheel drive before removing the axles? Been researching and first heard of this in your video. About to tackle this job this weekend on my 2008 ram 3500.
great video and appreciate the detail. I have a couple questions. I blow out my wheel bearing and had to fix it on the road. when I put the brake caliper back on one of the bolts didn't seat all the way down. can I add a washer to it to make up the difference? been riding it as is for a month but now that warmer weather is here I figure I'll address it. second thing is when I did the repair (in the snow, in a parking lot of course) I noticed the u-joint needed replacing. ideally I would of done it at the same time but given the condition I figured it was better to wait. when I check the parts site it shows "Front shaft" and "Wheel joints" u-joint options. I need the same one you did but I'm thinking the "Front shaft" option is for the front of the drive shaft. thanks for any guidance you can provide. ๐
Every shop needs a Mrs. O
Man that was super helpful video thanks Eric. And you better watch out mrs. O gonna ruff you up one day ๐๐คฃ๐
Mrs O is all gunned up ๐ช๐ช Tougher than an old Volvo wagon ๐
1. You hit the lotto with Mrs. O
2. I'm glad I don't work on Dodge trucks
3. Great video
Good for another 40 or 50k lol

This was my favorite video of yours for obvious reasons.
Mrs. O is a hottie!
I donโt know why she doesnโt kick your buttski.
That was great it showed me exactly what I needed to know and pretty much in real time and I also have a hammer like that I got a 48 years ago when I started in the machine shop and I still have it

I replaced my u-joint on the passenger side of my 2011 ram 3500 and everything went together fine but my service four-wheel drive and ABS light came on, how do I fix it and why did it come on ?
Thanks dude, this is awesome! Super helpful ๐
Great video…i found it really informative….also thanks for the report on the Earth QuakeXT……will keep that in mind when i decide to purchase an electric impact.
Factory spec torque. Ummph!

It is so nice to see you and your wife playing around. Behind a good man, is a good woman, they say. May God be in your relationship for ever. Amen.
