This Chevy Impala with the 3.5l engine came in today with a dead battery, a long crank time, misfiring, no tachometer and a message being displayed on the the dash "Engine Hot A/C Disabled" and the check engine light is on. It has codes P0118, P0335 and a code P0326 stored in it. Let's see what the heck is going on with this thing!

here in california rangers in the state parks tell people to bring tarps while camping. lay tarp on the ground and drive your car on to it and wrap it like a present. the squirels are chewing through the wires and stranding people.
What advice about vehicle repair would you give to your 19yo self if you saw him now??
You are one hell of a great mechanic, Eric. What did all this analysis cost? Sell him some mothballs too. No shop vac???? And I thought ford put their PCM in a stupid place!
Where the hell does this guy live? Oh yeah, NY, rodentville USA LOLOL
There is on a Subaru I believe where the ECM tracks the crank sensor the cam sensor wheel speed in a few others to determine whether off-road or a misfire and interestingly enough when you first fired the car you had no RPM and on the dash it also said beware of icy roads so it may have tripped a similar code in the ECM because it affects how advanced retarded. And if the engine runs hot it will disable the AC. So all things considered it is pointing to the ECM. And considering you had injector wire control damage there may be more in the harness. You should probably sell him a battery.
QUESTION, MY 2008 HONDA CIVIC EX WONT START, HIT A BIG POTHOLE IN ROAD AND I THINK IT SHUT THE FUEL PUMP CUT OFF SWITCH INERTIA RESET CANT SEEM TO FIND. CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHERE IT IS LOCATED CUZ IVE LOOKED EVERYWHERE PLEASE AND THANK YOU

Hi Eric, love your videos learning a lot. I'm just a in home garage guy. I'm hoping if you ever get a 2012 ford fusion, I'm struggling with doing the rear shocks. It's not hard just tricky. don't have a lift just a floor and jack stands. I could use some tips. Thank you. keep up the good work.
cold and rust make your job even tougher.
Omg, You’re the man! Exactly what I had lol Thank you! 🙂 This isn’t the first time your videos have helped me but this has been the most valuable!
my 06 3.5 ,impala 123000 miles
my car runs great
Hi,
I am working on 2004 Jeep Liberty with 3.7L that is running rich on back 2 only, spark plugs are not wet with fuel but black, replaced them with new once, the Compression test is good, injectors are at 14.5 OHM, I replaced the ECM with a good used AND programmed it to the vehicle, I can hear a strong vacuum going in through the air intake hose, but smoked the intake manifold but tested good no leaks. It is taking such a long time for the code P0175 to flag. Fuel trim is over -30%.
Hannah isn't learning mechanics for cars but mechanics period and tools. In medicine a huge number of tools is used so when she knows what you need before you need it it would be the same in surgery where the surgeon asks for a tool she will know mechanically which tool is needed as the human body is much more complex than any motor car with a computer and all its wiring. Has the same type of circuits and instead of cooling and oil it has blood which cools, fuels, and the nervous system is the wiring.
Eric your capabilities and your tricks like the knock sensor trick or the mouse tape are awesome your troubleshooting skills are beyond anybody's I've ever seen. Love it
Never heard of rhodent tape. Good stuff.
Thanks brother but just wanted to know how come the car can start without crank sensor signal please can you explain thanks a lot for your teaching MAY GOD BLESS YOU AMEN
Do they make a tape to stop a homeless guy from spitting on your windshield and using his sleeve at a traffic light and then asking for a dollar?
Hey I just replaced my engine in my 05 impala.and I really need to know we're dose the ground cable go? Please and thanks
HELLO IM FROM CANADA I OWN A 2009 CHEVY IMPALA V6 3500 HARD TO START WHEN IT DOES START IT WILL HEAT UP THEN SHUT DOWN THEN NO START

I have been watching your videos for a couple weeks now and have enjoyed it. I own my own upholstery shop in a small town in west Tennessee. So keep up the good work. Thanks Frank Hopper
Good video for the Autel also
My name is Evert I think that’s my problem too I’m going to check tomorrow and get back with you
My name is Eric to I’m definitely tomorrow morning going to check everything you just show me because it seems like that’s my problem get back to you tomorrow
I now has this urge to go change my air filter.
Good guy but don't watch these anymore. (TOO LONG.).
I'm surprised Mama doesn't smack you upside the head you're more demanding than a deputy had a DWI stop.
So after handling that tape I suggest you don't pick your nose or rub your eyes. And use a soap not a detergent to wash your hands. Soap is an alkaline detergent isn't
Mr. O . you should be taking pictures to document that so when a guy says hey how is it going? You can show him.
I love watching a true Genius do his craft
I just found this channel a little bit ago, I am amazed at your knowledge! “Got to start somewhere “ this has stuck with me. I don’t have the wire diagrams to pull up, I work on buses, but current has to go somewhere! I’m enjoying your channel! Keep it up!
sounded like a relay clicking to me not a inj firing 🙂
T
Thanks for the zoom in on crankshaft wiring I couldn't find it now were. My connector came loose before I can see were they go autozone sold me a connector with all grey wires thanks a lot I been watching u for over a year now (motivation)
I really like these cars with the 3.5 great cars from what I've heard…
Had the same issue on my 04 trailblazer. Chased my tail, 3 hours in I went next to wiring harness, sure enough broken wire!
Two words; Shop Vac! You should always vacuum that puppy out before continuing. Get the crap out of your way, get any fecal matter, fleas, etc. that the vermin left behind gone before you evaluate things further. It always helps to see what you're dealing with. The rodent tape is a great idea though!
Where’s the shop vac ?
That mouse was smart. He chewed the wire that won't allow the car to start. It like he knew he would be toast if the car started.
Whoever gives any of your videos a thumbs down must live a miserable life.
The best
The more I watch you use that Astro light the more I need one!
Love the channel, used to race cars when I was younger so I had experience taking out engines transmission, messing around with sensors bypassing them, taken out catalytic converters you know, racing stuff. Even when I was younger I had crap cars, and would do all the work myself on them. After kids, you really don't have time to do work on the side, but watching your channel makes me want to get back out under the hood again 20 years later. Thank you for all you do Eric
looks like rocket science. fixing a car with solder.
