Great content. If it's ok to ask, how much do you charge to flash program a module?
After a new NAPA fuel pump install, I also replaced and flashed a new FPCM and still get a P096e code. No other codes. Any suggestions? 2008 5.3L 1500
How can we manually reprogram the fscm? Driving a buick enclave 2009. Fuel System Control Module needs to be programmed.

If one of these modules was goin out would it cause low fuel pressure and hard start with a lean code
Too bad this isnt on an older vehicle. I have a 2002 Ranger 3.0 with similar symptoms. fiddling with evap changes nothing and fuel trims are pegged at -30. cant figure out why.

You know, I've got a 2014 Silverado and I was l just thinking yesterday how I would love to trade it out for a good old mechanical machine free from modules and needing the right java computer software just to install a new part… what are we doing here!?!?! Seriously! Look at the mess good ol' John Deere is doing right now, not letting anyone who knows how to turn a wrench try to fix their own equipment. I should have been born in the 40's or 50's back when things were built for simplicity and durability. The way we're all headed as a society leaves me shaking my head…
Wow all the money you have to spend just to fix a dumb computer module. GM trash! Sooner or later this is how everything needs to be replaced! I’ve watched a lot of Eric,s videos & I must say he is one heck of a tech ! One of the best at his craft . We need more techs like him ! I’ve gained a lot by watching . He is the wizard at auto repairs . Vechicles now days are so complex anymore unless you have the right tools to the repairs . Tools can get $$$$$ as we all know .he does have a good sense humor too ! He really is a great educator !

When I'm at idle with the same truck as this one, my fuel pressure jumps up to 57psi from the standard 43psi as it's also shown here while you were idling and I get a p0300. I replaced and programmed this black box already and same thing happens. Question is other than this module, what else will command the fuel pressure to be raised at idle is it the ecm? Thanks and do you know a great mechanic such as yourself located here in Los Angeles California? Thanks.
Did you happen to figure out why it runs rough on cold start?? Been having this same exact cold start for 3 months on my 09 tahoe.
The newest computer systems are overengineered simply to overdraw your bank account
relay 5 dollars and 2 minutes to replace control module 170+55 for software + 1hr or so to install

How can I tell if the fuel system control module is bad or if it’s the fuel pump thats bad?

So between the diagnosing work replacing the module and flashing the new model how much a job like this cost? I mean you spent quite a bit of time getting to the root of the issue and if you have not encountered the issue before I believe there is no way around the diagnostic work. If you have guest it would be the module and you would have a known good module on hand from another vehicle would you be able to just Swap and see that it's running properly?
Are the ones you buy preprogrammed with your VIN number OK ?
Now they have mechanical pumps again to keep pressures above 1000psi
You should send that controller to AvE so he can break down for us what those components are on that board, and what they do.
There must be some high school student that would love to play around with this black Box and find out what went wrong

Fuel mileage yeah right. What you save in gas $$$ you spend in parts and more. I know it's all about what comes out the tail pipe and the ozone layer.
I have a 2016 impala ltz 3.6 engine,i dont have a CEL on but my car does tend to jerk a bit when going uphill or under load.i plugged in my scanner and p069e and p0172 codes appear,do you think its the fuel pump or this fpcm

There is no doubt, that Fuel Pump Control Module is a money maker with the location at the rear of the truck! Ya, I remember the cam shaft pushing on the fuel pump actuator rod that pushed the fuel pump arm! How about this. A "Double Acting" mechanical fuel pump. The upper part was connected to the "Vacuum Wiper Motor" and the intake manifold vacuum port. It helped keep the wipers going when you floored the gas pedal in a rain storm. Without the D. A. Fuel Pump, the wipers would stop when the gas pedal was pushed down and/or floored! Thank God for electric wiper motors!
Oh ya. The lower part of the pump handled the gasoline "transfer" duties, from the tank to the carburetor. System worked great until the cam shaft wore down!
I saw that module on our 2011 GMC Silverado's with the 6.0 or 6.2 Liter V8's. Strong running truck, LOVES GAS! Showed how much in the low gas mileage! I supposed it was cheaper to put it at the back to control fuel pump power, instead of a logic module up front and a power module in the rear connected by its own CAN or GMLAN! Although, they do use the PCM to control the FPCM logic. To many acronym's ! ! ! Hey! More s**t to complain about! There is a plus to all this! It's after midnight, and I gatta get some sleep! im having an issue with an 07 silverado looking at scan data the ignition 1 voltage at the fpcm reads 10 volts with the truck running. used a h11 and checked the powers/grounds and lights it nice and bright. im going to replace it and see what happens!

I could really use your help in pointing me in the right direction. My engine is running rich 0172 and 0175 codes. My LTFT at idle is -40 and -35 at 2,500rpm. I have a 2011 chevy equinox, LT 3.0, 2wd. Also, here is a freeze frame if it will help point me in the right direction. Do i have a vacuum leak maybe?? I've spend a lot of money replacing parts and being advised. any help would be amazing!!
