Time to come along with Eric O at the SMA shop as he has a look at this 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500. Every light on the dash is on but we are going to focus our efforts on the check engine light. The truck is running really rich and his having problems controlling the fuel pressure. Let's see if we can get to the bottom of this!

I had a throttle body relearn done to fix the constant problem after cleaning it. I think I may have made a mistake I did a fuel composition reset using X431 on my 2011 5.3 flex fuel suburban , currently have e85 in my tank. Now I have 2 code errors p0171-00 and p0174-00 fuel trim lean system lean bank 1 and 2. Did I do something wrong? I would appreciate any help what to do and proceed. Thank you
👍👍
How do you determine the Vin engine circuit.
Excelente diagnóstico. Tengo un camión silverado 3500hd 2014 y no llega corriente a la bomba de gasolina. Saqué la bomba y esta buena. No se por donde buscar. Alguna idea?
Great job diagnosing worked with a few guys that just throw parts at it
I tought the problem was because the master cylinder reservoir was low
Have an identical problem on my 07 1500. Do you know anything about the pre programmed FPCM’s?
What was the software/electronic manual you were using to find out where the wire went. Thank you for the video. Awesome detail and great data.
I call this my variable resistor LMAO classic
Hi, always love watching your videos. You work on a lot of silverados like my truck. I heard you say NY. Are you close to Buffalo, NY? I would be happy to bring my truck to your shop if you are close enough. Thank you
Another great video Eric that I will keep in my library to repair my truck someday. You do a great job.
My 04 has 5.3 and the left 4 cyl are rich enough to miss and the right side is normal. 02 all 4 work. Puzzling.
My 2008 impala flex fuel reads 68% ethanol, and has a rich condition code, what would cause this when I know that percentage is incorrect?
Congrats on 50k subscribers!!! thanks for sharing your knowledge.
That was a very nice troubleshoot. Bravo! A lot of shops would have a wagon load of parts and no results due to that sneaky module (poor customers).
How blessed you are to have your (Nuclear family to wrench w/you) so to speak!!!!
Thanks for the video.
Good job. Just one minor issue…. were you really checking the cable ground ? Looked like you connected your factory load bank to the truck frame. Otherwise I'm a big fan of using light bulbs as current testers and stand ins for fuses.
You know why they call those buckets don't you? Because when you stand on them they'll Buck you off every time.
How precisely do you hook those bulbs for different loads test, for us self taught mechanics it's an invaluable tool, thank you kind sir.
Which site you get your wire diagrams from?
Hey Eric any idea why my fuel pressure shoots up at idle to 59 instead of the normal 43psi like this truck and gives me a flashing rich p0300? I get open loop fault when pressure goes high. Could it be this module or the ecm sending that command? Thanks love your videos.
i have a 2011 flexfuel that throws a fuel trim code when its switching between V4 and V8 .
Ha ha, a practical substitute for a LoadPro! I actually like yours better because you know exactly what's in the circuit and how it is working.
thanks for your efforts …
i hope Jasper is just a sponsor because there remans blow from past experience. i rather use oem remans personal and better warranty to boot. thanks for another good vlog man
I have a 04 Silverado 1500 with the P0172, 175 codes, aside for the FPCM you know of any common triggers for these codes. After watching this vid I checked the fuel pressure on the fuel rail and was getting around 60psi. Could the fuel pressure sensor be bad even though I have the correct pressure at the engine?
ERIC looking in too buy a modis what your thought is worth buying
marking is your logic probe? ?
Love that load pro. Lol
Eric, what is the test light you are using?
"variable resistor" lol
What if this module was programmed wrong by the last guy? Why not try to program this first before ordering a new one? May be this was wrongly programmed to take the 12V FP sensor and convert in to 5V signal to the ECM.
Your variable resistor comment made me crack up. Going to need to pick one up the next time I'm at the salvage yard.
Truly enjoy every video I have seen… especially when you say… here's your problem lady… cracks me up every time
I have seen these fail on two occasions both times the truck would not run.
Great video on the repair. I like how you were able to do the ECU flashing in house.
How many hours did you charge for the diag and repair?
Thought I was gonna get to see the Autel do some ECU flashing. Still a awesome video.
Manufactures always using tech to keep repair shops out of loop .
Is that the new Load Pro 5000????? 😉
Damn that truck looks like it's had quite the life. Lots of miles on it I presume?
Nice video,Anyway you could make a in depth oil change video soon, any special techniques you use at your shop thanks, love watching these repairs learned so much
Nice diagnosis, always looking forward to your next video..
Excellent diagnostics – why on earth would gm put the module under the truck
I know let's put a computer under the bed of the truck! Greatest idea since they moved the ABS module under the truck and the PCM to the lower front of the engine pay.
I think chevy could find a better place to install the module, a place were it didnt get so salty……
another great video! also just wanted to tell ya I'm from Attica (not an inmate lol). we were in your area on Saturday (10-1-16) for a soccer game. stopped by but you were closed… I can't wait to shake your hand… love the videos!
Are you part of a network?
Like your Intro…. Eric…..
