Did not help!
Po406 code I've replaced everything and I still have a high signal. I have no clue what to do now.
Just want to be sure you’re saying unplugged pin 1 (sensor line) is pulled low by the test light?
P0406 is it serious problem? My dodge charger has check engine light. And after scanning has been done i get p0406 code..
Great job
Awesome job 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Great video ! I am surprised Ivan has not had a video on repairing these… no parts required…
I love this channel. You have helped me so much im very thankful. I will be getting some merch.
My egr valve would come on and off while driven ,turn out to be block exhaust
my f 150 just pooed its egr valve and i gave it the classic screwdriver beating
awesome job MR .O but you tapping the new one so much might break it or shorten it's life lmao great job like always coming from Canada Hooooooah that's army language the Hoooooah part
Thank you eco-nuts.
That works great for testing! Years ago, GM had the tap test on the Mass Airflow Sensor. IT WORKED! GREAT VIDEO, quick test! Love It!
Ok my 04 is Pacifica is cutting back on take off if you hold it steady at 2000 rpm in park it also cuts back randomly dies at traffic lights . Is this a sign of a bad egr valve? Thanks
Eric, I enjoy your channel..a lot, excellent work…!
I have a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.8 and has the same code.
I am more confused now my EGR code is high voltage and also low voltage I think I need a new EGR valve.
Have an 07 Jeep Wrangler and I just replace the EGR valve and it still is pulling that same code po406 exhaust gas recirculation sensor A circuit high any recommendations?
A signal substitution tester could inject normal voltages and resistance into the computer. If the readings normalize, that means the sensor is bad.
Chrysler owners should put cleaner in the tank to keep the EGR clean. Try tapping on the EGR valve to try to loosen it before removing the valve.
Yes i don't have nice hands sometimes or most of the time lol all i do is move somethings and they are gone lol awesome you did show the inside
I hate that kind of people who try to fix any kind of things hitting then up ,like if they really would be fix that way.
Why my Pacifica sounds like a disel truck
Do you have a good video on changing egr on a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica?
I like your video….you should call a hammer a tapping tool….just like your scope on a rope saying..
Ok I got ya great videos keep up the great work it's helped alot
I have a question why did u mount your vise on your tool box u have a bench right there your grinders on it mount the vise on the other side
that cracks me up lmao u good people lol
2008 T&C 3.8L van, got code, replaced with a doorman egr valve. Had the battery disconnected so code went away. Couple weeks later code came back???? Did I need to reset the code electronically? Help. Perhaps doorman egr valve crap?
A shot of brake clean and she'll be good as new!
Out of curiosity, do any of the scanners you use require a yearly subscription?
Hi SMA,I'm a new subscriber to your channel and love diagnostics,it's more a hobby because I'm not a mechanic but well able to keep my 1994 1.9D Golf top notch in my own.A friend ask me to look at his Toyota 1.8 VVT-i,with 300.000 miles with severe misfire on cylinder 2,I did cylinder injector and coil drop test and find out that by disconnecting the injector 2 got no reaction,so start to check the injector, the tools I own are only a multimeter with duty cycle capabilities and a test light,so power, ground and control are present, resistance and duty cycle the same as other injectors,so I blame the cylinder 2 internal problem with out swapping the injectors to be 100% confident.I'm still thinking about injector 2 spray pattern.
What are your thoughts about this car???The car didn't pass emissions on idle and high revs.
is the Autel wireless to diagnostic plug in?
fantastic video Eric I'm just the same need to take her apart to see how it work and enjoyed all your video and tricks keep up the great work
ALL PACIFICAS MUST DIIIIEEEEEE !!
Looks like some sort of device (i.e. Rheostat) could vary your voltage to the EGR valve and therefore vary the position of the valve while reading the potentiometer signal going out to the ECM: Just a thought for DIYer's that don't have this
bi-directional scan too…
Hi Eric How do you get the maintenance specs? for any car!
had a caravan once with a broken pin in the conector but you see that when you go to change the valve obviously but most of them end up in oem egr valve being installed
Gonna get me one them thar Autel thingy's soon. Seems like the best bang for the buck.
So awesome you went to the other Erics meetup!!!
Almost at 40K!!!!!
Always check "Who's your Sam and Who's your Henry" lol
Love your videos. How do you like your new Toyota truck?
maybe someday you can do a video on replacing a pressure regulator on a Vortec motor would love that keep up the great work and videos
"Oh my gosh. I should have safety glasses on"
"Here, let me check the laser output with my one good eye…"
You could have easily fixed it with a spray of the good stuff…..yeah..BRAKE CLEAN
If I am correct, the sensor is 2 wire (rheostat) which then pulls down a resistor that is connected to +5V. Perhaps a simple fix would be to exercise the rheostat wiper by cycling the actuator full open to full closed about 100 times. As for a practical way to do that not sure at the moment, but I am of the electronic ability to do so. Or drill a hole in the thing and shoot some contact cleaner in then plug the hole with a screw.
Good stuff.
Great video very informative thanks!
Where are you putting the famous ball joint at lol? That was good humor between yall
