USA👍
Made in the U.S.A.! Love it!
DiD you clear the engine light
Put pump back in and.not working.
Crew cab is different.
You should try it on the ground with no hoist. I just did it and you have to work totally from the other side of the tank. Starting with the filler neck . I do like some of your tips and tricks though LOL Herman
I ALWAYS PULL THE BED OR TILT IT WHENEVER POSIBLE. ESPECIALLY ON ANYTING BUILT AFTER 1996……
Great video as Always Eric O this truck reminds me of a Southern truck wow at how Good it looks for a NY vehicle @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
Every mechanic on the planet knows Anti seize is the plague 1 drop and it is All over you the vehicle by the time your done Lmfao Eric O I have the same issues 🤣 😂@SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
I've always used my drill pump to remove gas from tank before removing it.
Thank you. I feel better prepared to tackle my fuel pump replacement
Poor Hanna!
Also…is dropping the tank way easier than removing the bed of the truck?
Does the fuel pump you installed also contain the fuel sending unit (to determine fuel level)?
I used to just pull the bed off the truck with a forklift to replace the fuel pump. I honestly think it's easier.
If you bring a truck to someone to replace a fuel pump or gas tank, I suggest if you live in the north east that you just purchase a new tank with pump, and run your gas out so the tech can do the job easier.
I don’t know what the fuck I just watch. I thought he was changing the transmission
You got a work it back-and-forth, I know your woman is happy,This video is better than a porno
Had my car in the garage since around 2018, Started it and pulled it out to the driveway.
It has been sitting all summer. Charged the battery and it got hot, It kicked the starter over ok but car didn't start. Battery dead won't take a charge. Battery was 2005. Replaced battery with new one. Cranks starter ok and sputters but won't start and run. Put 5 gal fresh gas in tank over half full. Seems to run spraying carb cleaner into intake but doesn't run. Checked 15 amp fuse. Removed and put back relay. Gona try reset inertia switch. Do you think it is weak gas? Or Fuel pump fail? Or clogged gas line / fuel rail? Could my computer be zapped from charging battery and over heating? Am I missing something? Tried in park and neutral. Pressed inertia switch it clicked but car still won't start. 2004 Ford Focus Wagon ZTW 3.8 – 4 cyl. Swapped high beam relay with fuel pump relay. Still won't start.
Help THNX
Do the Airtex last in your opinion? I'm replacing a fuel pump on a 02' Silverado atm …
might as well install new universal joints and new trans tail housing seal if you remove the driveline, just my opinion.
I'm about to do this job. You made dropping the tank look so easy i almost think I may not cut a hole in the bed
Just wanted to say thanks. This helped me do this on my own truck.
what was the part number
Perhaps ""Napa" would sponser you if you quit calling them "Napper" it was funny the first 100 times calling them "Napper" time 101 got boring.
amazing to see a tank come off without 40 lbs of dirt and stones on top. When things are dirty it helps to spray those electric and fuel connectors with water to soften the dirt inside, then blow off with air so the little tabs release. Don't be using a regular trouble light with a hot bulb when you pull off the fuel line. If fuel hits the bulb your done!
Eric best mechanic in business coast to coast!
What about changing pump inside sending unit? Please advise. Pump is $55 against $170 sending unit.
Great Job there, just one concern – always Always use stabilizer chains when using tranny jack even if it is just 1, cause a half full tank of gas – that tank could of easily slid off your tranny jack,
and 2 – I'd put a jack under the rear axle as when you lowered the tranny jack and seeing how much flex the rear of the truck made to the rear hoist support arm that looked pretty scary of how much rocking motion there was…
Gotta love NY. So much personality and spunk. I'm right there with ya. Great video… thanks Hannah! And to the young buck – keep schoolin' her.
Love your videos. I have affirmed some of my own troubleshooting techniques while learning 1000% more. Some questions:
I suspect that Hannah is related to you (daughter maybe?).
What is Hannah's function in the shop?
How has Maurie's training progressed?
Just curious.
you Daughter is a star.
So in your experience, is it easier with a lift or pulling the bed bolts and scooting the bed back?
I bet that C-clip was over torqued by a hack.
Coating appears to be cadmium.
Man! Watching you is like a visit to my shrink, just relaxing
I have to wonder if a Riv-Nut would work in this application
Take out that bee with brake cleaner! Is there anything brake cleaner can't do?
Now i know why the bed removal is easier
But i appreciate the fine work and persistence
Five Star coverage of this repair! Glad you could choose your time and place, I did mine on I40 near Jackson, TN starting at 11:45 pm. After watching your video I wouldn't mind doing the other tank as long as I was at home! Great job on the video.
The no gloves things gives me the Willy’s. Does mrs O let you touch her with those dirty paws? 🙂
Is it necessary to remove driveshaft??? Or just that model? I have a 2001 4.2 2wd my pump needs replaced! Thx for any info!
Same thing happened to my 94 F150: midship tank rusted a hole in it, so I swapped the tank, and (I guess) jostling the old fuel pump was enough to finish it off. So I had to do it twice in short order.
Looks like something similar happened here.
Do you trust using aftermarket fuel pumps such as Airtex vs Motorcraft original? I would not want to be doing the same job twice as long as I owned the truck.
F150 dual tanks v8
In our Scouts, we just cut a circle in the bed, and replaced it with a "bigger" circle piece of steel. Since these parts die and will be replaced like 2 times in the life of a truck, it would be "nice" if the manufacture build in access during manufacture. Never freeking happen. They say just buy a new truck.
Good video
A tie down strap over the tank to the jack will keep it from wobbleing.
To. The people. That said take the bed. Off. It. Would take to. Long. And it. Could. Turn into a nightmare. Trying to do. So. Lol
Damn it Hannah!
