Have you ever done this on a Chrysler Pacifica mini van (2017) Iโm at step one and see no screws lol!
Shortest Eric O Video Ever Pretty easy Job @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
Changed the turn signal switch. Now the hard part, could not get the screws to back in and secure the clam shell back together but does snap together.
I replaced my switch and the same thing happened two weeks later and the wipers run constant and pulls power and runs battery dead, any idea what it could be????
Love your video I can see you're a good mechanic but you never actually showed us the original problem lol

can you tell me where the turn signal flasher is located on my 2009 chrysler town and country . thank you.
Any experience on a Dodge Dakota brake release handle that wonโt return? I found a piece of some kind of broken tension spring part. Any idea if you have to replace the whole brake assembly including pedal or is a part available? Nothing shows me anything online.
Your all american guy, you crack me! ,funny when you were looking for a rt. Blinker short in the caravan took u a long time to find it,schematics run ,but you cracked it. A neg. Short on the body…but you were so happy when you found it,you were celebrating Yea now get this pain gone. And get paid..I know how it is..HVAC's a pain electrically.thx I did need this video.
Thank you so much for your video. Just bought the switch for $65. My 14 year old daughter and I replaced it ourselves. The repair shop wanted to charge me $210. Thank you again!!!!
Thanks for the video. I have a switch on order and plan to do it this week on my dadโs 07 Grand Caravan. I donโt dread it now.
Can anyone answer this question? I have a 05 Town&Country, and I have 2 problems,my turn signal switch works, but after I turn,it stays on until I click it back or turn it back, but my Bigger Problem is my hazzard switch on the dash doesn't work at all,so I can't put my emergency flashers on. Could I need both,or could the turn signal switch possibly fix both problems?
Windshield fluid not squirting I changed the fluid pump for the front that didn't work i'm now thinking maybe it's the switch is there anyway to tell
Thank you very much
Perfect that's exactly what I needes
i have '98 dodge caravan and the wiper always stays high when the engine is started. the switch has no control. Any suggestion would be much appreciated. Both relays are OK. Thanks.
I have an 04 town and country, just yesterday the blinkers started working/not working, when I lower the tilt wheel they work for a bit, so I'm thinking that this is the trouble.ย What do you think? South Main Auto ?ย I will check fuses under hood and push on the flasher under dash, all of a sudden it started.
More beer money. Thanks for the video.
I only wish my 2001 Grand Caravan were as easy. I did as you show, replaced the switch. But in my case, their was a stearing wheel lockup which prompted the switch replacement in the first place. ย in an effort to free the lock,ย I frantically moving the wheel back-and-forth, andย I heard (and felt) a ย horrible crunching-sound. Once the old switch was removed, I could definitely see it had sufferd damage – the pawl was cracked, and partly lost inside the switch. So, I replaced the switch. Now, while all electrical features are back working, the blinker cancellation (both directions) is not working. Any ideas? I'm concerned I may have to pull the steering wheel.
will that piece I have to change my lights in front does not work one of the low lights and for the two highs to work I must play that lever?
I found this as I'm having an issue with my turn signal, complete a right turn and the signal turns off as it should but complete a left turn and I have to stop the signal myself it wont click off.
Would replacing this unit resolve that issue?
I love them red.clips
HI. I have a 2008 dodge caravan 3.3L and I am having a problem with my left front flasher. If I turn the van on, the left blinker will work but dimly and the laft rear is fine. I replaced the left front bulb with two new ones to make sure. Same thing. The left front parking light will not turn on no mater what.ย Now if I turn the key off and then back on, the left will blink on and off. As soon as one of two things is if I use the lever to make the right blinkers blink and they work fine. I then put the blinker lever back to make the left side blink and it only goes fast. The rear left goes fast but the left front will not flash.ย The left running light never comes on but if I shut the key off again and turn it to the on but not start the car, the laft blinker will flash front and back. the light in the left front is still dim. If I then turn on the running lights the blinker flashes fast and the dimmer lamp in the left front is again off not working. I can do that all day. Also the rear tailgate lamp that at the top of the hatch does not work. $86.00 for that because it's a complete unit. I was told it might be the lever switch that turns the signal on and off, wipers. NO cruse control installed in this van. And the worst case I was told it is the computer that controls the turn signals. NOT the main computer. I took apart the left front lamp holder and puled out the socket that is in the lamp holder for voltage. I hook the negitiveย black which is ground and the otherr contact worked when I put the turn signal on.ย I turned that off then put the running lights on only and moved the vom meter to the middle and ground and that worked. not 1–% sure. I will check it again tomorrow again. I was told the computer for the directional was around $600.00 bucks and needs to be programmed.ย WHAT! $600.00 plus programming! Is this true? Does anyone have any ideas on how to get through this.ย Thank you
Oh my frikken Gawd! I've been putting off replacing the switch in my wife's Grand Caravan because I had visions of threading 80 or so wires down a steering column like the last turn signal switch I replaced…and it's that frikken easy? Don't tell her. I really should read the Heinous manual more often.
You're my new best friend!
thank you . big help
That was super easy. Wish everything was that easy. ๐
I used your great video in order to pull part and clean gummed up Contacts..now the signals work properly but my wipers wont turn off , they worked properly before I removed switch…what did I Do wrong?
Also had a Dakota that had a ton of new parts under the hood. They had shoped it around to lots of mechanics for a stall and missfire. I took it for a drive and after a good long full throttle burst it would sputter and cough. I took it back to the shop and open the hood and rev the motor and spotted a tiny spray of coolant was spraying from the heater hose right onto the ignition coil. Replaced heater hose and gave the guy a small bill and they couldnt believe it was such a small problem.
I had a problem with my own van once where the primary o2 sensor wouldnt work after replacing the motor. I put the original back in and still wouldnt work. Got a new one from the parts store and it didnt work. Checked and verify all wires to the pcm from the defective sensor. Took it for a pcm flash as there was a bulletin for an update for o2 sensor compatability. Dealer ssid my pcm couldnt be programed. I thought my pcm was damaged so i ordered a new one. Still had no communication with o2 sensor. Took van to the other dodge dealer and they reprogram the pcm but it still wouldnt work. Got another o2 sensor of differnt manufacturer and still no communication. Ordered a sensor right from dodge and took van in for diagnosis. Explained the situation to the tech and he verified no communication on o2. We instaled the dealer o2 Denso brand and it worked instantly. Why did none of the others work, just the denso? I looked at my original and it was denso. Only Denso worked. First dodge dealer tried to reflash the pcm wirelessy is why it failed and why they couldnt program the pcm. Incompetant dealer techs.
can you tell me why my 96 Grand Caravan SE blinkers will work when its really cold but when it warms up they don't work and I have hazards the whole time
Hey man! This was helpful. I had some spare time before breakfast and thought I would see if there was a how to video for this part on my van. Turns out, this repair will be as easy as I thought. Sometime you can diagnose your own issue. The switch gets some play in it that it shouldn't have. For me, it causes my wiper blades to not work properly.
Not even a squirt of brake cleaner ๐
Sometimes it's simple!
Can you make a video on how to replace the door lock actuator on passenger side sliding door on that van?
reset maintenance required light Toyota corola was a 32 second vid you did
Eric O!!! I keep meaning to ask you where you got that bit driving set from??? You're the best man!!
valuable info, thanks…
Eric you are a beast at fixing cars..have learn a lot from your videos..thank you..keep it up..
This guy is a frikin expert……
Quick easy money ๐
Glad to see that was an easy fix for you Eric, and you look pretty tired. Hope all is well and don't work too hard!
Come on! This was too easy. Bring on the rust. How about replacing rear control arm bushings on a rusty Ford Explorer? Replacing a front axle on something really rusty. Bring on the sledge hammer and pullers!
yes indeed short and sweet and very informative thank for sharing brother.
Super quick! Love that screwdriver! Nice grip on the shaft.
Well next step is to follow the other Eric, aka @EricTheCarGuy and take that Chrysler back in for a transmission swap as well ๐
Isn't there a clock spring in the column you did not disable the safety restraint system system
another video without fluid film, or brake clean? Madness I say!
