In a previous video I figure out why this 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander is blowing warm air out of the vents. I talked to the customer, they said to fix it. The parts are here now and it's time to get it done. We have a brand new Mitsubishi A/C compressor and receiver drier to install so lets get started.

Why didn't you just replace the magnetic clutch for the ac its relatively easy and more cost effective
What kind of adapter has the impact driver, because as I know it comes with 1/4" hex, and here seems that is not.

I have the same model of Mitsubishi Outlander 2009, the problem is that the air coming out in the center vent is warm but the reat vent is cold. What could be the possible cause of the problem.
Why on earth wouldn't they just ship the part with the EXACT amount of oil the device requires?
Why did you replace the receiver dryer?
AC compressor lives 6 years? That is kind of disappointing for a Japanese car.

I think they meant there's 80cc of oil in the compressor. Subtract what you drain out of the old compressor 70cc. So 80-70 =10cc. Drain 10cc out of new compressor so now got same amount as the old one.

seems like ac compressor issues are common with mitsubishis. had a 2004 lancer that had the similar issue once it hit around 90k got the part and swapped it. i have a 2011 versa with 110k and want to buy a 2008 outlander with 100k miles on it but idk man i hear they get great mpg, drive ok in the snow. im a student and go to school in NH, i drive 20-25k a year. what do u think should i get the outlander or stick w the versa

HI Bro, i have a problem with outlander 2010 compressor , it with the bearing, my mechanic advised that i need to replace the full compressor as the bearing is a part of the shaft, how ever i believe that i can replace the pulley with the bearing. please advise if the bearing is connected to Compressor shaft or not.

yup my 08 Outlander had the same problem had to replace it with an aftermarket compressor at a third of the cost what the dealer would've charged. Btw, we did look at the inside of the compressor and it was shot up too.

One question regarding the oil, I understood the compressor stated 70cc as capacity shipped with 80cc. why would you not just remove 10cc as the shipping overage and leave it full? A 2nd question I know the oil is carried throughout the system during operation but my understanding is that most of the oil stays in the compressor resivoir and will settle out when system not running. If there was only 10cc left in the system would that not indicate that system failure could have been caused by too little oil remaining?

I will bet that very few techs will double check for leaks with a sniffer after it held vacuum for >15 minutes.

I'm about to change my suction discharge line and curious to know how much I'm saving doing the repair myself. Also, I thought you charged AC thru low pressure side. Great videos Eric. You've made me a loyal fan of your work. Keep it up. Wouldn't it been a good idea to replace the fixed orifice tube since you have the system open? Maybe the compressor was a burn-out. It just good insurance to protect the new compressor.
thinking about buying an ac service machine like yours, are there any special precautions when dealing with a system that may have stop leak in it ?

I just wanted to take a quick second to thank you for posting all of these videos. I'm currently a 2nd year apprentice up here in good old Canada and I'm glad I found your Youtube channel. The amount of knowledge and insight I've gained from watching your videos has been amazing. My grandfather worked as a mechanic for over 40 years and while I've learned a lot from him, the industry and cars he worked on during his career were vastly different compared to today's modern vehicles and technology.
I love how detailed all of these videos are from diagnosis all the way to repairing the fault. So thank you again for posting these videos. You've gained a long term fan! I would die to work under some body like you!

Eric- you're right to err on the side of too much oil. I've heard the doom and gloom of too much oil but never had a problem. I have seen compressors shred that IMO had too little oil.
Man… You don't see oil filters with the screw part facing up. It is always at an angle or sideways.

General Aviation aircraft use freon air conditioning systems, as in cars, but chasing down leaks is much more involved because the hose routing is longer and under the flooring.
