gotta love Fords!
Как можно поменять отдельно этот клапан?
You are a Beast thanks for the video I just had my mecanic change my purge valve and I feel he got the best of me at $400 but you are Wright there no way to get that out but the way you did it and I’m not telling him till after he finish the job 😉after all he did over charge me for the purge valve I use to do the that work my self but like rust to cars arthritis to a mecanic 😩 lol keep up the great video and info much appreciate God Bless young man ⚙️🔩🔧🍻®️
I think I have the same issue on my 2011 mustang. I have the same check engine code and a message that says check fuel fill inlet. It’s been a recurring issue since I’ve had the car, usually I just get the check fuel fill inlet message and sometimes it goes away on its own but sometimes it doesn’t and the CEL comes on. Anyway they sell caps for these capless systems and I’m gonna get one and see if that works.
Typical Ford not giving all the info like how long the job would be with or without all wheel drive or 4×4 setup between a 2 wheel peel setup 🤔 Good work Though Eric O @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
a little screwdriver for prying?
you can buy a gas cap that fits this system on ebay for ten bucks and you wont need to replace the filler neck
So just to confirm it shouldnt be this much of a PITA on a FWD non AWD Flex?! Lol. I have a 2013 Flex Limited non AWD.
Wow, I remember doing this, before i retired about a year ago! i was replacing the nozzle because it was damaged by a customer
I’ve got some friends in Maine that also has AWD Flex.
Same connection on my purge solenoid on my “11 Chevy Cruze.
PB Blaster and wire brush
This video is the reason why I always wear eye protection whenever working on a car.
I don't want any of that ish to get in my peepers.
Does the fuel neck supposed to release vapors even with a new cap and hoses?
I bought a new filler neck and it comes with one big pipe and 2 smaller ones. I try to pressurize the big one and no leaks leaks. The second smaller one no leaks but on the smallest pipe about a 1/4 of a inch it leaks from the side of the neck. Is that normal ?
Another thing to look at when buying a used car make sure it's got a gas cap. Wow
I have a whole bag of new scrivets because they all over my ford truck rofl!
Another excellent video! If it were me working on the car, I probably would have cried to myself several times on why I decided fix this car.
Although I have had a few challenges working on cars over the past 60 years, I finally have learned to accept my limitations.
Eric, you are an awesome mechanic. Your diagnostic skills and work ethics speaks loudly as a true professional.
Speaking of rust, we do encounter rust in Hawaii because of the salt in the air and the constant humidity but not like what you encounter in your neck of the woods.
Car makers like the salt to ,cars in the north deteriorate real fast get to sell new cars a lot sooner, filler neck is probably a Californication required item to combat climate change!!!
For a year old car I think is Rusty love your videos buddy I'm about 5 minutes in let's see if you drop something.
Yes the Flex comes in 2 wheel drive. Front wheel drive.
EPA at work. Funny, you never replaced a filler neck in the past… And all the emissions it takes to make one, transport one, delivery one, install one, etc…
So to keep a small amount of fuel from evaporating, we're replacing systems with new systems and that somehow cuts down on emissions. Right…
Makes sense 🤷🤦
Just like the new gas cans save emissions also… By pouring gas all over the place when you try to use one. Idiots at work.
Can you confirm yet if all these steps with dropping a subframe is needed with a 2wd? I have an 09 2wd
nasty job
As soon as you decided to change the filler neck I knew that subframe would have to come down. Ford definitely fit four pounds of stuff in a three pound box back there. Your repair was spot on. I,m sure you have more repair experience than Shaun at Mitchell and the engineer at Ford that designed that mess combined. Good job Mr. O.
Ugh i think I'm having the same issue. I have gotten the purge valve done already. As well as cleaned inside the door and around the capless area with cleaner and air duster. Not looking forward to that repair bill. Very informative.
the plastic push nail pins are Plivets… I don't know, really….
Thank you Eric another fantastic videos thank you your videos are Fan👀🌿
Hello. I thought book time is after a guy does the job 10 times? And then they time the job. Thanks like your videos, and talking to you.
I wonder how much rain and wash water made its way into the tank with the filler valve not sealing?
Where are your safety glasses ?
Being originally from Canastota NY, Now Live in Florida, I don't miss the Rust caused from salting the roads in the winter.
Aluminum does NOT RUST, IT OXIDIZES.
Ugh, my 2013 Flex Limited has the same issue, my filler neck tube will be here today … NOT looking forward to doing it on my back in a small 1 car garage, did not look fun … Thanks for the video (Hard to find many videos of the Flex) ..
I recently got a 2012 Ford Flex Se Fwd and the check engine light comes on an off the dealer i got it from said it was the evap, however it also was said the 02 sensor i guess different code for different code readers or cheap from expensive code readers..lol
Anyway after this video i am glad i have a warranty cause yikes the part alone oh an then labor cost…. yikes
So thanks for sharing :0)…
My sister worked for the comany that made "scrivets" (and a whole lot of other plastic fasteners for the auto industry). She would bring bags and bags of them to our mom to put the two pieces together.
after all that 37000 persons said if you can do it wee wont and wont by that ford product happy trail
Fordmakeuloco recommends getting a fuel filler cap: 8U5Z-9C268-B. I put one on my brother's 2015 Focus. Had this car had that maybe they could've got a few more years outta that fuel filler inlet. Or maybe not – what a rust bucket.
Lolol….a lol screwdriver ???
But can she do it?
Beautimus, Aluminum and 10-15% ethanol. ethanol sucks up water and it rots everything.
The boomerang throw. Priceless. Just too funny. Thanx for the belly laugh Eric.
You along with (real-fixes-real-fast), and FordTechMack guy are something else! Your videos should be mandatory real world educational training for thousands of shops who need to properly train people and probably dont have the money to do so. Keep up the great work (Comment: Dealing with Retinal eye oncologist specialist…get you some good eye protection while under car…lots of tiny debris falling down on you while you were working bolts…No good eye sight could cause some big problems). Excellent video.
It was named like the spork. lol
Replacing that contraption, $500. Replacing gas cap, $20. What was Ford thinking?
All of tha for not using a gas cap fucking company always screwing the lil guy
Show the customer this video. They will feel sorry for you and double your bill.
After all you’re time / labor what is the total $$bill invoice…Vehicles are made like paper plates and cups , designed only for temporary expensive maintenance 1 time use. Excellent work Sir Great video. I have the 2 wheel version ..
You did not really expect an Answer from FoMoCo in between 45 mins. did you?
What a joke all ford wants is to save their foreigners work,in my opinion! Don’t buy their crap! Chevrolet,Toyota,Nissan are better trucks!
