will this sensor affect radiator electrical fan speeds and a/c performance? my question is …is this sensor related to the HVAC? fan speeds depending on ambient temp? thanks in advance Erick…just curious
Hey! I have this issue but only when it rains or going through a car wash. Is the sensor bad or is it just loose and short circuiting?
My 2001 Deville a/c blow warm on right side.
Hello South main auto question can the ambient sensor cause your car to cold start with high rpm
Did your CEL turn on?
I HAVE 2013 LEXUS RX 350 THE READING WAS BELOW ZERO WHEN WAS 60 DEGREES OUTSIDE..AI REPLACE THE SENSOR AD STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM. NEED HELP ON THAT.
Everything in this car is so cheap
Great Video!
On a 2002 Buick Lesabre, can you tell me if the manual climate control can be swapped out with a digital climate control like the one shown in this video? I have to replace mine and wanted to know if I had that option.
How much would you charge a customer for that?
Never understood how these work , being located in the grille…. wouldn't the air rushing in the grille going down the road affect the temp reading?
I got a 2017 Ram 1500, and the ambient temperature sensor read -40 in September.
I've got a '95 LaSabre, identical unit on the dash. My ambient temp is SOMETIMES accurate, but this morning it was about 12 degrees hotter than the air temp. Showed 92°. The actual temp was around 80°. I guess I'll give that a try. Also and if you have a link!! My A/C wont blow out of the center ducts, only defrost and floor vents. I hear it could be as simple as a bad vacuum line on the back of the module in the dash. Anyway, any help would be appreciated. BTW this temp was after I had driven cross town and back. Car was parked in shade in my parking space.
hey eric i m getting no reading in my 07 jeep jk i ve replaced the sensor today and still get notbing but noticed sometimes it shows -39 or -37 but it varies and its random when the car does not move any idea what else it couls be?0

Would a 2000 Buick lesabre be fixed the same way?
All my cars have been at least 5 yrs old when I bought them and never owned one yet that had an ambient temp sensor in it. Since they are virtually standard equipment now, my next one will probably have one so good to know the common failure and how to fix. Thanks for sharing.
I dont trust u..i belive u my friend! Those fail are the one we mecanics never forget!!dont get me wrong..we never talk about those that make us look bad!:(
Have done a few cases like that, problems with outside temp sensor and inside temp sensor… a/c compressor dosent work the were reading -40 f…few cheks , replace the sensor ..that was done!! Good job!! Hey by the way would like to see one of fail tooo hahahah!!..;)
That temp was just off a we little bit .
Ohm it!
Just wait until summer…Eric will be working in Dixie shorts, wearing a sleeveless Superman shirt, smoking a Pall Mall. Well hell, that would be entertaining, and just slightly disturbing.
95-01? Ford Explorers have 2 radiator bracket mounted sensors for the outside temp. One is for the upper console and one is for the electronic auto temp control(used internally). Most EATC fords have 1 sensor, and have a temp button to show temp like the Buick(the explorer has a rear fan button instead). I think the console one is obsolete.
Well done, 11 year old Buick probably the first time it needed a repair 🙂
