Great repair As Always Eric O just some simple exhaust leak and flame thrower action @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
Lmfao is basically equipped with the flame thrower package 🤣🤣 Eric O @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
What do I do with a code po171 by chance to fix this problem
Yup, definitely sounds like a hybrid. Too funny
I have the same problem on my Durango. I turn the A/C to recalculate to keep exhaust from coming in. Lol!!! Nap time…😴
Dam good job eria. Sam
You have the same hat or cap that i have the only thing is that my cap is brand new. I think that it Oakley cap .
dodges are typically pretty loud and this one was no exception…changing oil more often and using the lucas additive 1/2 quart with every oil change helps the chysler/doge run 80% quieter which of course means she is aging gracefully/
I can't get enough of your videos. So I'm going back into the archives. Love this one.
Is it possible to message me I got questions about my Durango
very impressed with videos and checked to see if your shop is local, its not. been a mechanic long time but still learning, 70 now. presently running 2010 dodge dakota 4.7 truck. only thing different from stock is magnaflo exhaust from cat back 5 years ago. check engine code 2098 came on although runs well. put blower into exhaust from tailpipe and sprayed soap mixture over all connections. finding front connection just behind cat leaking and fixed, still 2098 code. checked all induction for problems, none found. replaced o2 sensor downstream of cat with mopar sensor, still 2098. i don't have knowledge or possesion of test equipment. i hate losing a fight. before bring to a shop checking wiring for its integrity is my next, any suggestions anyone.
I am assumming the 4 wheel drive doesn't work that well…LMAO🤣 good one
Got the same code p0171 on my 1999 durango I have replaced all the sensors on the top of the engine replaced the upstream o2sener & the downstream o2sener put a new cat from Flowmaster on it a new muffler 🤔🤔 & still got the p0171 code
Yep tell me I had bought a calicat for the right side my xterra from az and when the cat went on the left I went to get another and suddenly I couldnt buy one and that's when I learned that the parts clowns are stacking the deck with those non approved cats telling you oh you can buy those in nys so I went and ordered a calicat for my left side xterra
Pcv valve bad? Hoping changing mine will help with the smokin'
Second time watching 6/25/2020
Excellent video Eric. Never seen one of those flanges before. Been living on a rock literally 😂. Good to know
old video, new comment, i would have ground off some of both sides of the new flange and that would have closed the gap in the opening enough to actually fit. now i do understand that you could ground off more then necessary and made it to small. but this would have still been okay…
Brilliant mr O…
Wondering if a 2005 dodge Dakota w 200k miles for $800 is worth it and what should I be looking for
I have a Dodge Dakota that had the exact same problem. Manifold to pipe broke loose. Manifold bolt holes were broken on one side. I went to Orileys to find a solution and they had no idea what to do about it. So I came home and started going thru your videos and found the split flange video. Exactly what I needed. You even had the part number so I screen shotted it and showed them at Orielys. They got it the next day and I fixed it myself in the driveway! I really do appreciate how you show everything and explain it. We need you in Kentucky 🤪 Thank you and keep up the good videos. God Bless!
Ridiculous that you have to abide by the cancerous Commiefornia emissions laws in New York State. I can’t believe you run into as many vehicles that I’ve seen you work on that are Commiefornia emissions.
common problem on 4.7. My 06 Dakota has manifold leak on driver side
Was there anyone on the ladder she ran over??
Open headers baby!
Thumbs down, I wanted to keep the flame thrower option.
"Long barrel" aka BIG NASTY! LOL 😂
Clap o flange, now that would be brill if it’s available in the U.K.,thanks mr o.
Eric, I have a dakota with same engine; an 04. I have a p0430 and p0420. I also had an exhaust leak which i fixed with the same clamps you used, but the codes never went away. I then replaced the 2 downstream o2 sensor and it took the codes away temporarily. Now the codes are back. I dont know what else to do.
How do you reset the long term fuel trim on the dakota?
Subscribed bro super great and funny
Why not keep a journal of cars and codes and solutions to fix cars quicker?
900th like! Whaahooo….
Eric, I really appreciate the fact that you do excellent work while at the same time maintain a realistic attitude when it comes to overall vehicle condition and customer wishes. You're a credit to your trade. Not everyone can/will rebuild their vehicle. Many just need it to keep running for a while. You've got a big heart and a ton of common sense. Thank you for what you do.
… Good Job, Eric !!… now… i think my car has a 'miss' in it, however, it could be a 'mister'… how can i know fer sure ? 😉
It's nice you try to save some money for your customers and not fleece them
Ive got the same color dakota except it's a 99 with the 5.2
So funny with an interesting, educational, practical diagnosis and fix.
No i can't do it. I don't have the stinking computers you do… grrr. guess i'm just staying an old school mechanic. blows.
Ran over a latter omg i cant stop cracking up to funny
I didnt realize those flanges existed. And I would have never thought to call Walker to inquiry about it either. Great insight Eric O. In this case it was totally feasible and smart to use that clamp. Doing right by the customer is the SMA motto!
did you get away from using the verus? in some of you're newer videos I see you using the autel
We call em split flanges, pretty handy.
if she would of came in to my shop and said when she stops at a light and has to turn the heat off because she gets sleepy I think I would of countered with maybe try not to drink at every stop and that should fix the issue that's a quick 75$ diagnostic. lol that's the first I herd of the sleepy symptom
I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota I have had to fix the exact Manfred botes
You can't stick it to the little guy, or gal. You know these emissions rules are borderline ridiculous. Al Gore is flying around the world on his private jet and little old ladies are shucking out $1,200.00 for a California compliant catalytic converter.
It's just not right!
flame thrower for sure.
Being in the other Socialist State of Illinois, I've always been skeptical as to why we haven't other than Chi Town, subscribed to The CARB Standard. I have been prepping for 5 years, waiting for the hammer to drop. Good common sense legal fix. Thanx, I didn't know those existed.
I have a 00 dodge Dakota SLT Quad cab 4.7L and it blows black smoke, like more than my buddy's cummins kinda black smoke! I can't figure out why?
burns oil! piston rings.> blue smoke. but the dodges have the intake plenum issue.
