In this video I show you how to install a front hitch on your 2015 Equinox. This is a Roadmaster hitch #3160-1B and I also show you how to install light diodes and wire them up. Thanks for watch and as always follow the directions in the service manual.

Loved the spin tip on the wiring. Never thought of it in 40 years. Thank you for once again showing how a real pro does it.

When I was young and doing mechanic work on big rigs sometimes it was down and dirty. I hate but connectors. I once no twice had to rewire a trailer that was older than I was just so the guy could get through an inspection so I was told. I literally rewired the trailer from front to back on a turd. I made the necessary replacements on lights. Just rewired the whole trailer and cut off all the chicken lights. I put but connectors on and gave them a spritz of battery seal. Never heard anything else. Hopefully that equipment is in good use elsewhere

Beautiful work! Had the same thing done to our Ford Focus a few years ago. The Road Master products held up well, then we found out about the dual clutch transmission. That was our – last – Ford.

This is an awesome video. I'm not working on a project like this but I watched this entire video just for pure genuine interest sake and to learn a thing or two. Thanks for another AWESOME video!

unibits are better than drill bits; they leave no burrs and make a perfect smooth hole. They can be purchased at HARBOR FREIGHT, or an AVIATION TOOL COMPANY. I've been a heavy jet mechanic for the airlines for 30 years and we use unibits to install phones in seats, TV monitors etc.
I LOVE your videos. You are an awesome mechanic!

I'm not so sure about those push pins used to install that front electrical connector. There is a lot of force and friction when those connectors are pulled out. Hate to see holes ripped in that plastic.

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Leroy says:

Most look like a beaver cut it nice attention to detail

As CONFUCIUS ONCE SAID: There is a FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING. The age old question still confuses many. WHICH CAME FIRST THE CHICKEN OR THE EGG??? The ANSWER IS BOTH. The CHICKEN EVOLVED FROM ANOTHER CREATURE, BEFORE IT COULD LAY THE EGG AND THAT EGG HATCHED INTO THE MODERN CHICKEN. SO THE CORRECT ANSWER IS BOTH.

Now that's brave. Mrs O held that bumper like a pro.

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Deep Bass says:

Tip: Wrap the diode pack with a small foam sheet, and you won't have to listen to it rattle.

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars James Howard says:

Quick tip for removing these newer style taillights. Go to Home Depot and get a pair of their cotton gloves with the blue rubber palms. Gives you grip on the lens to slide the taillight assembly back off it’s pins. Works every time without any damage. Be sure to lube the plastic pins for easy removal the next time.

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Peter says:

What about the third brake light?

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars J Pol says:

Not only are your videos fun, but they are educational as well. I had forgotten the wire twist method with the drill and I will try drilling backwards with a hole saw through plastic. That's a new one for me. Thanks Mr O! Take care. Jpol

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ron S says:

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Melvin Shields says:

    Learn a lot Thanks

  39. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ColtaineCrows says:

We mostly use the double insulated wiring when we wire up aftermarket crap, it's a bit more abrasion resistant so that helps a lot in those places you just can't fit your hand and a cable tie at the same time.

  40. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars TheRocketbob22 says:

Jumping Jimmy Crickett, he got it done. Because it was a new vehichel, Eric had to use his corrective voive. He did this job just as I would have, El Perfecto, look out Panama City, HERE WE COME.

I drive a 98 F-150 with a camper shell on it, Texas just started requiring that the center tail light worked. Well, mine didn't so I replaced it. The center light works now except whoever wired it originally, I just spliced it in under the camper shell to keep the fuse intact, when I use the left turn signal it causes the center light to blink. The right side works fine and as it should so at least it is one thing less to fix. The way you did this install and the little extra attention to detail is what sets you apart. I wish every mechanic/tech or whatever you want to call them, were as conscientious and detail orientated as you are. Great job!

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars dangerousmythbuster says:

Where's the rust? Did you move the entire shop out of NY? In NY, even new Chevy's should have rust.

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mike Chiodetti says:

Great wiring job, but I would have put the wires in split loom. Cleaner install, great wire protection.
